The customization is extensive without feeling overwhelming, and everything looked fresh and well maintained. I went with the falafel bowl, built over rice and lettuce, and one standout detail was that they offered three different rice options. I chose the lentil rice, which had excellent flavor and added a nice depth to the bowl. All of the toppings, condiments, and add-ons tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I have been wanting to visit Olive U Mediterranean Grill and finally have the opportunity because I was in this Delray neighborhood. There is ample parking and seating, though I can imagine this place gets quite busy with the workday lunch crowd. The restaurant was very clean, inviting and casual. Staff greeted us when we entered and helped explain how their menu. It is very similar to the other "fill a bowl" concept, casual restaurants, but in this case Mediterranean delights await you. There are several different types of proteins, and as a pesco-vegetarian, I was pleased to see tofu as an option. There's falafel too! (The tofu was well seasoned and not bland little cubes of food.) You can do a bed of greens, pita, hummus, or rice as your base. I went with the rice which was deliciously seasoned, though (spoiler alert!) next time I might go with hummus. There are many fresh herbs options for toppings, including spices and sauces. All the vegetables were crispy, and the portions were generous. The price point is fair and what you would expect to see at similar restaurants. I wish Olive U were closer to my home, because it's a great fresh option if you're looking for a quick take-home meal as well. I did see that they offer family-style dinners where you get a large portion and everybody eats the same thing. I think that is a great idea and not something I've seen at the other bowl - style restaurants. As I've already spoiled above (hee her , I definitely plan a return visit one day. The place looks clean and nice. Bathroom is sparkling clean, which is a huge bonus. I didn't know which type of chicken I wanted and the girls at the counter kindly suggested a sample. As a middle eastern I can tell you that the food that I had did taste good. Although, I never had such tiny & flat falafel balls. I used to work for a falafel place in High school. I was served by a young girl, who was afraid to put the food on my plate. The grape leaves, they give you one $1.40. Was tasteless; they should buy a better one. Parking can be a challenge during certain times. That's because there are so many good spots in this plaza, like Ripe, Carmela Coffee, Warren, Joseph's Market and many more but I digress. The two types of rice have a bit of spice or kick that is an exciting taste on the palate. We have been here 3 times in the last two weeks it is delicious and made your way! As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is fun and they all say hello as soon as you walk in. When you walk up to the counter, they are very helpful and all the services behind the line recommending to just what to put together with what flavors.
