Cute, sweet Italian restaurant with nice details from south of Italy. Didn't catch any Alfredo meatballs or pizza with ananas ideas which gives the place an additional point! I had La Tonnara salad with added artichoke and it was above delicious as you can see in the pictures. As dessert I had a sfogliatella. pretty good hidden spot, we both got the pizza special here with a coke, thinking it would remind us of traveling through ItaIy with authenticity, but it drops short, nothing can taste like Italy, but Italy. Overall it was nicely placed in Boca, and had a lively amount of people so we had to try it. Im uncertain if we'd return for pizza but would return to try something else and give it a shot. We have known of this establishment for a few years but this is the first time we visited to eat. It is owned by the same family who have established the best Italian bakery and restaurant in the area - the family which owns Cosa Ducci on 29th Street near Dixie Highway. Mercato has an incredible array of packages Italians foods as well as appetizers salads and a selection of honey-made breads and pastries. We visited on July 4 around 11am when very few restaurants were open. They have a delightful small Dining room which seats about 14. The dark red walls are filled with delightful oil paintings of various scenes throughout Italy. I had the special for the day - avocado spread on a tasty whole grain bread along with a huge piece of burrata on top accompanied by a small delicious cappuccino. The Florentine sandwich was huge and made on warm from the oven focaccia bread. Service was impeccable provided by Suzie and the foods prepared by Irena. This is a local gem hidden in Royal palm Place which is frequented by those who know of the family and their unbeatable foods and hospitality. Nothing fancy but you will not find better foods anywhere like Mercato - unless you travel to Italy. Don't hesitate to go. You will not be disappointed. read more

Hours on Apple Maps and yelp are apparently incorrect. We swung by and were seemingly upsetting them by showing up after they closed. They said they don't talk to Google so Google doesn't know their hours. I said it is on yelp and Apple Maps and also their website isn't working, just to let her know. their sandwich board sign was still open out front too. Just so strange. This jewel of a market nails it every time. Not only is it one of the best lunch spots in town, hands down, but their catering is exceptional. When I needed a charcuterie spread for six people, I brought my own trays, left a couple with Suzie and Irina and said "work your magic." They delivered. This place is a hidden gem!! What an absolutely wonderful experience we had here. We wondered in here for lunch one day and were so happy we did. We walked in and were kindly greeted by the people working there and they answered all the questions we had. They had plenty of different food and goodies in the display cases. We first got lunch and I will be honest, I can't remember exactly the sandwiches we got but I do know they were absolutely delicious. I specifically remember the bread being very delicious and all the ingredients being so fresh. If you like fresh cold Italian sandwiches you'll be in amazing hands here. Also, the decor and ambiance of this place is so amazing. It was very relaxing and homey and just a very cute place altogether. We also ended up getting dessert which was just okay. The cannoli had a very light, almost merengue-like filling which I didn't love. I also got some leaf-cookies which weren't my favorite either but despite this it was still a wonderful experience. They have a ton of food and beverage items for sale including different cooking ingredients like olive oil, dressings, delicious sour cherries, and much more! This is a new place on Mizner in Boca Raton; they are the same owners of Cosa Duci, also in Boca, Sicilian ownership in case you are wondering. They have prepared food to go but also Italian salumi (deli meat) that you can get to go or try there during happy hours where they offer salumi board. Pretty much anything they cook is good and is done family style, not prepared way in advance so it is difficult to go wrong. Try also some of the salumi they have to go; they have good Italian salame and you should also try the speck, a smoked Italian prosciutto that goes well eaten as is in a board but also can be used for other dishes. For instance short pasta with mushrooms and speck is very good; you cut the speck in small pieces, cook it in EVOO at low-medium temperature so it doesn't burn and add the mushrooms after a couple of minutes. Then transfer the pasta in the pan and stir it together for a couple of minutes to coat all the flavors (just make sure you remove the past a couple of minutes before it is al dente and you complete the cooking in the pan with speck and mushrooms - you might want to add a couple of tablespoons of the pasta cooking water, rich in amid, to create a little cream and get all the ingredients happy. Anyway, I am not sure how this review became a recipe, but they also have several other Italian products from biscotti to anchovies and more. It is a nice place, warm, they have a small separate room with a few tables where you can enjoy some salumi and wine and it's a great addition to Boca and Southern Palm Beach County. Of course don't expect salumi prices supermarket style, because these guys import from Italy, we are not talking about Boar's Head here, you get the real thing. Great place to buy some Italian products or get some lunch to go; and of course if you are Italian or even just of Italian heritage, it is a must try. read more

We currently drive from WPB to Miami to shop for authentic Italian food; therefore we were really happy when this place opened in Boca Raton! The store is very beautiful, but no surprise here: these are the same owners of Cosa Duci, and if you are familiar with that place, you know how much dedication they put to their work and their customers! Besides the deli/market area, they also have a very small and cozy dining room, a wine room and a couple of tables in the outside court. You will find several imported cold cuts and cheeses in the deli, plus some prepared food and pastries. They even have Stracchino and Robiola, two Italian cheeses that are incredibly difficult to find! Prices vary, but some items can very expensive (the Bresaola is one of them, but I strongly advise you to try it at least once: it is really good!) They now offer HH as well, but I would say that it is not a typical HH where items on the regular menu are offered at cheaper prices: their HH is like an offering of food and drinks (at regular price) which are not on their regular menu. However, it is a good way to taste more of their products. The parking lot is not very big, but is normally not an issue if you get there before 5pm: after this time the entire lot seems to be reserved to valet parking only. read more

This review regards a customer experience. Just days ago I went into Mercato Italiano for a sandwich. I ordered a prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, oil, and vinegar. The young woman behind the counter asked what type of bread I would like my sandwich on. My reply was Italian bread and she responded that they had ciabatta. So ciabatta it was going to be. I was originally dining in so I went outside to find a table. After a couple minutes, I realized that I did not have much time; I went inside to asked to have my sandwich to go. The young woman behind the counter pointed to a small oven, she responded that my sandwich was almost done it was at that moment, I realized my sandwich was in the oven. I was sure that I had not asked for a warm sandwich and I kindly shared thatwith the young woman. She was immediately rude and clear that sandwiches on ciabatta bread are always warm. The older woman who manages the shop came over and asked what was wrong. When I shared with her that her the issue, and also that her employee was rude. While I regret that I did so, I told her that I would accept the warm sandwich, even though I it was their mistake. The manager responded by saying she did not want me to be upset and that I should leave. I offered to pay for the water I had partially consumed, she did not want payment and I left. So I asked my fellow Italians... What sandwich arugula on it is ever warmed? I know I was kind in the way I interacted; shame on them. read more
