Stopped by Max's for lunch. As it's been around for a long time with a location smack in the heart of Mizner Park. So,I figured it would be top notch, but it was not. It was OK, but just your ordinary everyday restaurant with ordinary everyday food. One thing I really liked is that the valet station is located right next to the restaurant. So you can leave your car with the valet and merely walk a matter of feet to their sidewalk patio dinning area. We got a good seat on the outdoor patio with a perfect view of the park. I immediately began reviewing the menu which was rather simple as there wasn't isn't much to it. There's grilled salmon, grilled swordfish, bacon meatloaf, a New York strip and others but nothing unique, unusual or what one might term gourmet. I had the Char Grilled Trout, which was supposed to come with capers and a remoulade sauce, but didn't. The sauce, instead, was merely mayonnaise; I think Hellmann's, for Lord's sake. LOL My partner had a Mahi sandwich which again was good but nothing special.

I've been going to @maxs_grille since I was a kid & we always love having lunch + dinner here! it's also a great spot to celebrate at they have a great lunch special where you can get your choice of soup or salad, an entree, dessert, & soda or coffee/tea! the food portions are huge and the food is always fresh and delicious : ~Grilled Salmon ~Tuna Tartare ~House Salad ~Char Grilled Trout ~Lava Cake

Meet our friends for late lunch in Mizner park. Decided on Max's Grille. It was a wonderful winter day in Florida and ended up dining outside on their patio. Seated quickly in a nice shaded spot. Service was great. The waiter was very friendly and offered to answer any questions if needed. Food came out quickly. I ordered the chopped chicken salad. Very fresh and a nice size. Also ordered was the flat bread which was tasty and our friends ordered a chicken sandwich. They really enjoyed their meal as well. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

It was definitely time for an updated review of Max's Grille, because this place has quietly been leveling up. Max's has been a family staple for us for over 6 years. It's always been reliable, comfortable, and easy to say yes to. Lately though, the specials have been on fire and the menu feels refreshed without losing what makes Max's feel like Max's. The crème brûlée French toast is one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Rich, indulgent, but also fresh with all the fruit. On the lighter side, the burrata wedge salad is a standout. Fresh, balanced, and a great twist on a classic (also YUGE). And if you're doing brunch, don't skip the mimosa party bag. It's a great value, perfect for sharing, and exactly the kind of thing that makes a weekend meal feel like a mini celebration. Add in the iconic patio at Mizner Park and that relaxed Boca vibe, and it just works. There's something about sitting outside at Max's that feels very Boca in the best way. You really can't go wrong with Max's of Mizner Park. Familiar, consistent, but still evolving. That's why it keeps earning its spot in the rotation. My only critique bring back the rock sugar sticks for the Cappuccinos

I've been here a few times and haven't had a bad meal ! Ambiance is nice but the service depends on the night. The pineapple refresher was nicely strong and delicious! For dinner I got the Sausage Rigatoni. I thought it was good but my mom said it was okay. The guys enjoyed their loaded chicken parm. I'd go back for the drink and pasta!

Food was good and the salad was huge! Great spot for lunch post-shopping. Service was quick, we sat outside which was hot in the afternoon but the covered area gets a nice breeze - we also didn't want to wait for inside seating (maybe more shade umbrellas?) but overall, good dining experience.

My wife had been to Max's Grill many many years ago and this was my first visit and I could tell you it will be our last visit. I won't take away that it is a beautiful atmosphere in Meisner Park and the server was good . But we came to the restaurant to enjoy a meal, and the food was atrocious . My wife ordered the crème brûlée French toast. It was horrible to say the least. Dense bread with sugar that was not melted on top. If it's crème brûlée it should've had a melted sugar crust. Instead, it was raw sugar that wasn't even melted, which was horrible. My wife took a few bites and left the rest. I tasted one bite, and it was lousy. I had their homemade Gyro plate. A tasteless version of a Gyro with overcooked Gyro meat covered in feta cheese and their homemade tahini sauce. The only thing that was good on my plate were the french fries and that's because they didn't make them. They just put them in oil and cooked them. When we were done, the manager came over and asked how my meal was and I was honest and said to him what I was disappointed. Even he looked at my wife's plate and said it should not be like that . As usual, we didn't make a complaint to get a free meal and I paid my check. However, the manager did provide me with a $30 VIP card and asked us to please return and try again. I'm thinking that one of the people I don't like is gonna get a $30 VIP card for Christmas . LOL

One of my good friends and I went to Max's Grille today for an early lunch, and it was such a solid choice! We sat outside at the bar in beautiful Mizner Park, the weather was nice and cool! We started with waters and the spinach dip, which I have to say was some of the best I've had in a long time. It wasn't overly creamy and had just the right thickness and flavor, definitely a must-have appetizer. My friend ordered the salad with chicken tenders and said it was fantastic. I had the Caprese mozzarella chicken sandwich, which was pretty darn good as well. The portions were generous, and we both ended up taking some home. The fries were decent, not the best I've ever had, but still enjoyable and paired nicely with the sandwich. Overall, we both left happy and satisfied. I'd come back again, especially for that spinach dip!

Definitely an institution since it is one of the only original businesses in Mizner Park, almost 30 years. Our kids and grandson came to visit so there 13 of us. Luckily, they gave a private room with a round table. Started with an assortment of hors d'oeuvres, Hummus & Breadsticks, Calamari & Zucchini, Margherita Pizzette, and Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Al very good and fortunately they were placed on a lazy Susan. For mains, I tried the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Asparagus, Avocado Mousse, and Corn Salsa. It was just ok, I have had much better many times. My wife chose the pistachio crusted grouper with mashed sweet potato and broccoli. She also felt it was just fair. Lots of outside seating.

Before leaving town, wanted to stop and get a good lunch. Saw the reviews for Max's Grill and decided that this was a good spot. It's located in a shopping area. They don't have their own parking lot so you'll have to find one of the garages or pay to park on the street. Came in on a Monday at 11:30 when they first opened up. It was not crowded at all, so it was easy to have our choice of seating. I was a little disheartened when they did not have the draft beer that I wanted so I had to go with a secondary option of a shock top. The waitress was very nice. Apparently they have been around for 35 years from the 35th anniversary specials menu that they had on the table. I ordered a salmon burger with sweet potato fries. Food was delicious. The fries were slightly sweet and very crispy. The salmon burger was flavorful in the bread tasted fresh. Pretty good Dani experience and I would definitely return if I have the opportunity.

Happy to snag a table at lunchtime under the fans in the shade enjoying the breeze outside. I enjoyed people & beautiful doodle watching as Mizner Park passed us by. Ashley took good care of us. I ordered a Thai tuna salad & my husband a southwest chicken Cobb. Our salads were huge, fresh, tasty & perfectly dressed. However, when we got our Bill, I realize that there was a lunch special that would've been significantly nicer for less money, I wish I knew in advance.

Came for the Mizner park atmosphere and stayed for the food! The spinach dip was creamy, cheesy perfection and set the tone for a great meal. I got the salad with chicken which was super fresh, generous portion, and full of flavor. My friend ordered the caprese chicken sandwich and couldn't stop raving about it. The patio seating made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid spot in the heart of Mizner!

Maybe it's quieter outside but those tables are right next to the street. We had to yell to hear each other. Our server Sebastian was so pushy and constantly upselling us. As soon as we sat down, he asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, but that question should always have 3 options: still, sparkling, or tap? He then recommended the signature omakase, the most expensive thing on the menu. When he came back to take our order, he made a big pitch of today's rib special. When my husband ordered the 8-piece nigiri, he pushed us to upgrade to the 12-piece option. As we were eating, he asked us what else we wanted to order. We ordered $130 of food for 2 people...seriously? We hadn't even finished yet to gauge if we were still hungry. I know that tips are a percentage of the bill, but you would've thought this kid was getting a commission on top of his tip or something. It rubbed us the wrong way. The tuna crispy rice was $5 per piece and the rice was weirdly chewy. Wouldn't order it again. The nigiri were the highlight of the meal. Each piece felt balanced and the sushi rice was good. We ordered 3 rolls: toro toro, scallop, and yellowtail. All were forgettable and expensive for what they were. The yellowtail roll was bland, which is probably why there's a chili ponzu sauce to go with it because otherwise all you can taste is pear, which isn't a flavor I'm looking for in sushi. We ended our meal with scallop tacos, which were good but microscopic and pricey ($17 for 2 tacos). Each one is a bite and a half. It took a while to flag down Sebastian for the bill, so we were stuck in the din of the restaurant for longer than we liked. If the restaurant's filling up, wouldn't you want to turn our table and seat new guests? My husband made a note on the res that it was my birthday, but it was ignored. Maybe we would've had a better experience with a different waiter, but this was a disappointing meal and service.
