Now that summer is officially here, we're hitting up all the out door bars! I've walked by Max's a few times, hoping to check out the restaurant. Well, I still haven't made it INSIDE. Lol Max's has a bar set up on the outside (patio style), ready for sunny days. Shaded and breezy, we spent sometime here enjoying rye and smoked old fashions, the lively atmosphere and friendly staff. Staff is wonderful and friendly. Went to Max's Grille in Mizner Park this afternoon for a family birthday brunch. They have amazing salads, and appetizers, and the entre I ordered was their Salmon Burger from the specials menu. I switched out the side of fries for salad and I ended up eating the sandwich without the buns. That's just me, but overall it was really good. Alyssa our waitress was AMAZING! She was so on top of serving us our drinks, getting the food out early, giving us new cutlery. I can't thank her enough. Overall they have great ambiance, great food, and great service. Stopped by Max's for lunch. As it's been around for a long time with a location smack in the heart of Mizner Park. So,I figured it would be top notch, but it was not. It was OK, but just your ordinary everyday restaurant with ordinary everyday food. One thing I really liked is that the valet station is located right next to the restaurant. So you can leave your car with the valet and merely walk a matter of feet to their sidewalk patio dinning area. We got a good seat on the outdoor patio with a perfect view of the park. I immediately began reviewing the menu which was rather simple as there wasn't isn't much to it. There's grilled salmon, grilled swordfish, bacon meatloaf, a New York strip and others but nothing unique, unusual or what one might term gourmet. I had the Char Grilled Trout, which was supposed to come with capers and a remoulade sauce, but didn't. The sauce,instead, was merely mayonnaise; I think Hellmann's, for Lord's sake. Meet our friends for late lunch in Mizner park. Decided on Max's Grille. It was a wonderful winter day in Florida and ended up dining outside on their patio. Seated quickly in a nice shaded spot. Service was great. The waiter was very friendly and offered to answer any questions if needed. Food came out quickly. I ordered the chopped chicken salad. Very fresh and a nice size. It was definitely time for an updated review of Max's Grille, because this place has quietly been leveling up. Max's has been a family staple for us for over 6 years. It's always been reliable, comfortable, and easy to say yes to. Lately though, the specials have been on fire and the menu feels refreshed without losing what makes Max's feel like Max's. The crème brûlée French toast is one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. Rich, indulgent, but also fresh with all the fruit. On the lighter side, the burrata wedge salad is a standout. Fresh, balanced, and a great twist on a classic (also YUGE). And if you're doing brunch, don't skip the mimosa party bag. It's a great value, perfect for sharing, and exactly the kind of thing that makes a weekend meal feel like a mini celebration. Add in the iconic patio at Mizner Park and that relaxed Boca vibe, and it just works. There's something about sitting outside at Max's that feels very Boca in the best way. My wife had been to Max's Grill many many years ago and this was my first visit and I could tell you it will be our last visit. I won't take away that it is a beautiful atmosphere in Meisner Park and the server was good . But we came to the restaurant to enjoy a meal, and the food was atrocious . My wife ordered the crème brûlée French toast. It was horrible to say the least. Dense bread with sugar that was not melted on top. If it's crème brûlée it should've had a melted sugar crust. Instead, it was raw sugar that wasn't even melted, which was horrible. My wife took a few bites and left the rest. I tasted one bite, and it was lousy. I had their homemade Gyro plate. A tasteless version of a Gyro with overcooked Gyro meat covered in feta cheese and their homemade tahini sauce. The only thing that was good on my plate were the french fries and that's because they didn't make them. They just put them in oil and cooked them. When we were done, the manager came over and asked how my meal was and I was honest and said to him what I was disappointed. Even he looked at my wife's plate and said it should not be like that . As usual, we didn't make a complaint to get a free meal and I paid my check. However, the manager did provide me with a $30 VIP card and asked us to please return and try again. I'm thinking that one of the people I don't like is gonna get a $30 VIP card for Christmas . LOL read more

One of my good friends and I went to Max's Grille today for an early lunch, and it was such a solid choice! We sat outside at the bar in beautiful Mizner Park, the weather was nice and cool! We started with waters and the spinach dip, which I have to say was some of the best I've had in a long time. It wasn't overly creamy and had just the right thickness and flavor, definitely a must-have appetizer. My friend ordered the salad with chicken tenders and said it was fantastic. I had the Caprese mozzarella chicken sandwich, which was pretty darn good as well. The portions were generous, and we both ended up taking some home. The fries were decent, not the best I've ever had, but still enjoyable and paired nicely with the sandwich. Overall, we both left happy and satisfied. We had a wonderful late lunch. Vanessa was our server and she was wonderful. Super friendly with insights on the menu. We started with the Brussel sprouts, they were very good, a little too saucy, but we didn't ask for lighter sauce so no complaints here. My partner got the chicken pillared with broccoli rabe with garlic. I ordered the spicy shrimp salad (but grilled shrimp instead of spicy) it was really good. While I asked for dressing on the side, the salad did have the dressing, but it wasn't heavy so no complaints here. Ended with a wonderful cappuccino for myself and a double espresso for my partner and we shared a baked Alaska that was AMAZING! Apparently we were the first to try it and it didn't disappoint. It was quiet since we ate close to 3pm, but it was clean and bathrooms were in good condition. Before leaving town, wanted to stop and get a good lunch. Saw the reviews for Max's Grill and decided that this was a good spot. It's located in a shopping area. They don't have their own parking lot so you'll have to find one of the garages or pay to park on the street. Came in on a Monday at 11:30 when they first opened up. It was not crowded at all, so it was easy to have our choice of seating. I was a little disheartened when they did not have the draft beer that I wanted so I had to go with a secondary option of a shock top. The waitress was very nice. Apparently they have been around for 35 years from the 35th anniversary specials menu that they had on the table. I ordered a salmon burger with sweet potato fries. Food was delicious. The fries were slightly sweet and very crispy. The salmon burger was flavorful in the bread tasted fresh. Pretty good Dani experience and I would definitely return if I have the opportunity. read more

I went to Max's Grille on June 15, 2026. Was the food, atmosphere, and service good? I would say yes. However, is it worth the very high price point? To me the answer is not really, but I am not a very wealthy person (i.e., I went for a party and someone else happened to unexpectedly fit the bill for the entire table). I would say that if you want to go to a really fancy place for a special occasion Max's Grille can be for you. However, if you are a working class Joe like me, probably go elsewhere unless it is a special happening. Definitely not outside, but there were tables inside and at the bar. My last experience here was not great but for years this was THE place in Boca, and now under new ownership I think it's back. Our food, dinner, service was good. Grilled Bronzino- perfectly marinated and served with a chilled orzo, pasta, salad, beets, tomatoes, and a lemon herb vinaigrette. This was special! Radiatore Pasta- OK this is where they confuse me ...Radiatore pasta is a short squiggly pasta and that's actually what I was expecting. But the description says fusili pasta, grilled chicken, balsamic broth, sun-dried tomatoes, broccoli, and goat cheese. No offense, but there is a difference between radiatore and fusilli. It was good, but clarify your menu because I would've preferred the radiatori. Owned by Kaluz , now everything will be back to the way it should be. For a massive restaurant, Max's Grille has a nice, comfortable feel. The patio is well laid out too. The menu is fairly broad and the portions are generous. The Chicken Milanese was excellent - as was the Tuna Tartare, nicely mixed with avocado and scallions. Save room for the Butter Cake dessert. Our server, Sean was terrific - friendly and engaging. This restaurant is situated in the center of Mizner Park and oddly one of the few I have not tried yet. The dramatic exterior boasted a full bar with plenty of covered patio seating with an unobstructed view of the park. The interior bar was impressive with the hanging crystal wine glasses and the bright led white lighting reflecting off the mirror backdrop. The kitchen permitted a semi-open view to the hungry patrons which provided an inviting warmth. Our charasmatic server, Cesar, was an absolute delight and provided a hint of comedy and attentive professionalism which contributed greatly to our dining experience. My Prime Steak Grille Burger with Sweet Potato Fries was cleanly plated and halted my hunger as it was devoured quickly. The Korean BBQ Chicken Lettuce Wraps were also a tasty treat. The manager introduced herself and was informed of our absolute wonderful dining adventure directly due to Cesar's service. The bathroom was modern but didn't quite match the high standards of the rest of the restaurant, which is a bit of a letdown. A clean, well-maintained bathroom is a key part of the overall experience, therefore, a painfully slight drop to a 4.7 star rating is imperative - maybe establish a 30 minute clean checklist for the staff to ensure a better result. read more

It was from kaluz restaurant group, which was always one of my favorites. !!!We went there tonight. The waiter was very good.alastair F knowledgeable, helpful we had the chicken milanese. , which was good, but that was an old dish that they've had at the other owners, and always liked and still do I had the veggie burger, which was delicious with a baked potato just like they do at Kaluz which made me very happy. We had the crabcakes which were good and a salad with chicken. It was a very nice evening I will be going back again. One of the best dining experience I had in a long time. There's a wonderful outdoor patio dining area and a very pleasant well organized inside dining space with cool a/c airflow throughout. With record high temperatures, we decided to dine inside. The hostess was friendly, very helpful, and she led us to a great table. The service was amazing. Everyone was friendly, attentive to our needs and very resourceful. We had the meatloaf and the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich. The meatloaf was perfectly done, soft and not overcooked with bacon wrapped around the edges, and was served with mashed potato's and green beans side. It was the top most delicious meatloafs I've had. The mahi-mahi was equally delicious, blackened just right so you can enjoy the light spiciness. The cocktails were also made to perfection. I absolutely loved the outdoor patio--such a great vibe with the ceiling fans keeping things cool. I went with a burger and fries, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and packed with flavor, and the fries were hot, crispy, and just right. I also had a Ketel One on the rocks with lime, which was made perfectly. We ordered the truffle fries, Mac n cheese, Southwest Cobb, spicy tuna roll, and tuna roll. My favorite was the Mac n cheese and the blackened chicken on my salad. After quite some time, my friend and I headed over for lunch today. We were seated and noticed that the menu had changed, the prices had gone up *a lot*, and there were no longer lunch specials. We asked our waiter and he told us that the restaurant had been sold and was now under new ownership so it had changed. We maybe should have trusted our instincts and just left. But why not give it a chance? The food came out and ... my veggie burger was not very good. It had an unusual flavor (I assume from one of the spices) and was impossible to eat as a sandwich; I wound up eating it with a knife and fork. My friend ordered the mahi sandwich, and she took one bite and said it tasted "off" - a little too fishy. She told the waiter and he tried to say that's how mahi tastes. Even so, he was nice enough about it. He took it back and asked what else she might want. She got the chicken sandwich which she said was just okay. And it took what seemed like a fair amount of time to come out. The oddity was in how it was generally handled. The waiter simply took it back. No "I'll let the kitchen know." No manager came by to ask questions. And we both commented later that while we didn't expect any sort of compensation, it was weird that from a customer service POV they never even said sorry or asked anything about it. It would have been nice if they did literally anything at all. After we left, my friend reviewed the bill and noticed that while the terminal offered up tip amounts, it did something strange (perhaps applying the tip to the whole amount, rather than the base before tax) and she wound up tipping more than she had intended to. It was an experience that was memorable, but not in a good way. We both agreed that we will never go back. Nothing about it was worth returning for. read more

I visited the area around Max's Grille in Boca Raton recently and was genuinely disturbed by what appeared to be happening right next to the restaurant's service area. Large buckets of ice were sitting uncovered and exposed to the elements, with insects and debris around them. A staff member later used that same ice for table service. I chose not to dine after witnessing this, as it raised serious hygiene and food-safety concerns that any restaurant should take seriously. read more

We walked in without a reservation and were promptly offered an outdoor table to our preference. Marcos warmly greeted us and had such an amiable and genuine demeanor. Our dishes were perfection. We dined the night before at the Seafood Bar at the Breakers and to our surprise, we were more impressed at Max's Grille's. The chef today delivered entrees that were on point! I ordered the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was crispy and fresh having the perfect balance of seasoning while the pasta was al dente and tastily drenched with light cream sauce. The dishes were reminiscent of the food we had in local hotspots of Italy and Greece. The grilled trout was also flaky, tender and flavorful. Tomato bisque was one of the best we've had - not salty which is a rarity these day and hearty with chunks of fresh tomatoes. Key lime pie, cheesecake and cappuccinos were generous in size and tasted great. Marcos and his manager checked on us throughout our lunch and both delivered quintessential service. We were dumbfounded by the combination of excellence, professionalism and kindness. We were just visiting Boca Raton for a day but now we really want to come back again especially with the intention to visit Max's Grille again. read more
