Just me .. on my way to a fabulous dinner at Chops Lobster Bar - Boca Raton
    Kim G.

Great experience. We sat at the bar and shared the South African lobster bites, grilled octopus and Caesar salad. Delicious !! My date had the Dover Sole and I had the petit filet and jumbo asparagus. Will definitely be back.

Super happy with my chops experience, the ambiance is old school Italian, dark and moody, the octopus was so yummy and the escargot was excellent as well. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely experience at Chops Lobster Bar, especially sitting at an outdoor table, which made for a great atmosphere. The tuna tartare was very fresh and well prepared. We also ordered the scallops and the Chilean sea bass--both were delicious and cooked nicely, though they leaned a bit on the salty side and could benefit from lighter seasoning. The key lime pie was fine, but not particularly memorable. Service throughout the meal was friendly and attentive. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner with great food and ambiance, just a few small tweaks away from perfection.

Incredible delish onion rings and the baked stuffed Lobster.

When we want a relaxing fine dining experience we always find ourselves going to Chops. One thing we always make sure to order is the spinach salad that is finished tableside. Always delicious and always consistent. I usually get the baked stuffed Lobster stuffed with jumbo lump Crabmeat and my wife loves the Chilean Seabass...the steaks are great and come the way you ordered it. A great diverse menu combined with very good service and the manager Mo makes sure we get our usual table and that everything is fine. It's always busy and for good reasons.

Chops is my local 'when I feel like a fine dining experience, good food, and close to home' place to go. I haven't always been satisfied, but this time, totally. We kept out simple. Choosing the two part menu @$58, I chose the crab and shrimp cocktail to start. Succulent shrimp, amazing lump crab, a little shy on the Horseradish, but it was easily cured. Service, BTW, was outstanding. That's where Chops almost always shines. For our main course, I chose the scallops, perfectly seared and served on mashed potatoes with capers and tomatoes. The capers added a unique level of flavor I hadn't expected. Quite delicious! My partner had the Farro salmon, served eloquently on a bed of greens in a delicate sauce. We added the garlic broccolini and the corn mash, winning accompaniments to the mains. We wound up making friends with the people at the next table, putting a wonderful end to a great meal.

I booked a dinner reservation at this restaurant for my husband's birthday tonight and I am so glad I did. It was an excellent experience. Every member of the team wished him a happy birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and has a very nice ambiance. The menu offers a two course and three course dinner option with many choices. There are also several separate seafood entrees, steaks, and lobster choices. I went with the three course dinner and started with the calamari. It was delicious. For my entree I had the Chilean Sea Bass Hong Kong style. It also came with spinach and jasmine rice. All three items tasted great. My husband went with the lobster tail appetizer and loved it. He also had the bone-in filet and said it was great. For dessert we had the creme Brule and the chocolate soufle cake. They both tasted fabulous. A wonderful experience all the way around. Service was great and professional.

It's appropriate to post an updated review to my earlier one which pointed out various concerns. This one will focus on the outstanding service provided by MIA and the incredibly well prepared meal - score to the chefs! Our dinner earlier this month was one of Chop's $69 three course specials. Not smaller sized portions. Just fewer choices but all prepared exceedingly well. Starting with chopped salad and a Caesar salad, we were each impressed. The croutons and anchovies on the Caesar salad and its dressing were outstanding. My husband had the salmon Oskar, delicious. Light. Fluffy. Tasty. And the crab meat placed on top was freshly cooked. And he enjoyed each piece. I had the Chilean Sea Bass Hong Kong style. The broth was tasty. And the sea bass was light. I could have eaten two servings. My eye caught the asparagus on the menu and I ordered it even though MIA advised me it was $13 a portion. The Hollandaise sauce was not heavy. It played a song on my tongue. Just delish. Of course I forgot to mention that we started with extra dry martinis at $15.75. Shaken to perfection. Chilled with ice slivers as requested. And the martini glass was full. Not 2/3 full. We did not stuff ourselves with the delicious desserts that we took home. We waited until the next day to treat ourselves. The key lime pie was on point. And the New York style cheesecake with fresh strawberries was like velvet in our tongues. Too many expletives here? Think I'm exaggerating? Nope. I'm not that type. And allow me to return to MIA as I end this review. She was informative. Intelligent. Not intrusive but clearly spoiled us with her attentive demeanor . If every server at Chops were like her the Resturant would be overfilled every night. And while it gets busy in season, it's not crazy crazy. Make reservations, though. We will be back. As long as MIA is working rhat night. (Oh the manager stopped at our table to ask if all was going well)

This was by far the best fine dining experience I've ever had! The staff is very friendly & I can't wait until I can return!!!

    12oz Australian ribeye, BMS 8
    Jeff F.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, nothing disappointed. Great service from Becky, pleasant, dedicated, friendly, just the right pace. Started off with Caesar salad which was surprisingly delicious. Fine chopped lettuce, many tiny croutons, fresh Parmesan cheese with the right balance of dressing. It's really the details that made it much better than most Caesars. This is the place for a great ribeye. It's not wagyu but that wasn't the price point we were going for. At $79 for the regular ribeye and $115 for the Australian was typical for a h end experience. They were cooked to the perfect medium. Finished it off with a delicious creme brulee with fresh berries that did not disappoint. Probably one of the best I've had as well. Rarely do I ever give 5 stars but they really delivered a fantastic experience. I would have liked to seen a snake river ribeye or similar with a BMS near 10 or 11, to fit in between the prime and A5 wagyu. The Australian was very good but a 10 or 11 BMS would have taken it over the top. Not a complaint, only a suggestion. I debated between Ruth's Chris and here as they both had a table available. I'm glad I chose Chops!

As we approached the hidden entrance tucked under a portico, I noticed it was right next to a Jersey Mikes entrance which gave me pause for a second. We had a reservation and were greeted by an extremely pleasant woman who turned out to be our waitress as well. The interior is tight, only about 7-8 tables, a bar and a small kitchen. After speaking with our lovely waitress, we ordered and the food was delivered in courses which was nice for a change. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and delicious. It turns out the single person in the kitchen is the owner. He hand prepares every dish and accompaniment. Great food, great service and the staff were all very pleasant. A great dining experience- we will be back.

Before I talk about the food I want to say that the young lady that was the bartender and server was so friendly and gave great suggestions. The restaurant is small, however it is beautiful inside and does offer outdoor seating as well. Now for the food. They bring out fresh hot rolls with a small plate of cheese pesto and balsamic drizzle. Outstanding!!!!! We came to find out the owner who is the chef, his wife is a pastry chef and makes the bread and desserts. To start we had the Spanish chargrilled octopus. I know I have said this before about other restaurants, but I can truly say hands-down. This was the freshest, most tender, and one of the most flavorful grilled octopus that we have had. It came with a mixture of capers, potatoes, and vegetables in an amazing sauce. Truly fantastic. For dinner, my wife had the blackened yellowtail snapper in curry sauce, and I had the shellfish pan roast. Both were one of a kind dishes. We have never had such great flavor and seafood. Not to mention the amount of food that they put out and the presentation is worthy of awards. My wife's blacked snapper was cooked perfectly had a light blackened coating, and the curry sauce was tremendous. My shellfish were super fresh. Again cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful. The sauce they were in was amazing. For dessert, we tried their homemade Keylime pie, and this too was top-notch and made fresh. We are planning our next trip to this restaurant and if you actually want a true fine, dining seafood experience you have to try this spot. I'm going to say it is priced accordingly for the true quality of food, the amount you are served and the presentation. If you are looking for a fried shrimp basket or fish and chips, this is not the type of restaurant for you. This is upscale seafood, and a true upscale seafood experience. You might want to consider making reservations as they do get busy and as I mentioned earlier, it is a small restaurant.

I loved a simple dish done well. The Mediterranean combo was a special of the night and it came with prawns, branzino, fried anchovies, and a salad. The combo was also just as goods. I also tried the squid ink pasta and the seafood linguini. Both were good but the squid ink pasta was unique. I can't put my finger on the flavor but I liked it. We also ordered the Chicken (Pollo) Chaufa and the Seafood Chaufa. Both dishes came in small portions, and the seafood was only placed on top of the rice. Sadly, they lacked the distinctive Chaufa flavor and tasted a bit bland. The Lomo Saltado beef was tender but similarly lacked seasoning, and the Ají Amarillo was just okay.
