They offer a good menu of appetizers, salads, burgers, entrees, kids menu, drinks and desserts. The cuisine is prepared with fresh ingredients. Food is really good, well presented and tasty. Lunch review for 501 East. Located in the Boca Resort, 501 East is accessible only to members and guests of the hotel. There are several different types of restaurants at the Boca Resort. 501 East is "American" fare. The lunch menu offers starters, sandwiches, salads, burgers.and a couple of mains. It sounds simple but it is all very well done. Items we ordered included Local Fish Tacos, Fresh Salmon, and a Naked Burger. Everything was delicious. I think I loved the sides even morethan the mains. The Sweet Potato Fries and Crispy Brussel Sprouts were addicting. The decor is lovely. The bar and terrace overlook the golf course. With many booths, it is the perfect place for a lunch date or business discussion. Service was impeccable. While staying at the Waldorf Astoria Resort and Boca Beach Club for a few days for my anniversary, my husband and I decided to have a late lunch here on Saturday. The resort has several restaurant but this particular one was recommended to us by a friend (Ingrid) who works at the resort (she is amazing by the way). We were seated promptly, the restaurant has a inside and outside seating location. We choose to sit inside since it was raining but the large glass windows still gave us a perfect view of outside over looking the water. To drink I ordered first ordered the "very berry hibiscus" but it lacked any kind of flavor so I sent it back. I replaced that drink with the "501 colada" which was flavorful and amazing! If you like sweet, fruity drinks, I would recommend this. To eat I ordered one of the specials which was the pan seared snapper, accompanied by a caesar salad. The snapper was cooked to perfection, very flavorful and moist. Everything was amazing. My husband ordered one swordfish taco's which I tried and they were really good. Our friend Ingrid joined us for lunch as well and she ordered the smoked chicken wings starter which came with a small side of shaved radish, pickled butternut squash, and wickle relish. I've been reluctant to submit a review for 501 East, as it is not a restaurant which is open to the general public. So, this review will only be of value to guests at the Boca Raton Resort and Hotel, or it's Members Only Club, or to those who know someone staying at the hotel, or a Club Member. So, you local Yelpers out there, find someone who falls into one of those categories, and enjoy a meal there. That being said, my two dining opportunities there, one lunch and another dinner, were quite positive, surprisingly so. Frankly, I was not expecting the level of professional and friendly service, which can often be a challenge in very busy hotel environments, especially in South Florida. Clearly, management is recruiting and training very good staff, as was reflected in my experiences, and these mainly young people have not been burned out yet by the Club members, some of whom appear to be, shall we say, "high maintenance". The food is what would be called New American (BTW, what's Old American?), with various meat, fish, salads, chicken, and at lunch, several different burger selections. As to the burgers, our friend, who is a member, seems to only order burgers (I don't know why, really), and you can pick between those with caramelized provolone, or a kobe beef, all natural turkey. All are severed with a huge portion of crinkle fries, really tasty. Not being a meat eater, I can't comment on those dishes. I've had broiled fish (catch of the day), scallops with corn risotto, roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans, all of which were quite good. They also make a nice caesar salad, with corn bread crumbs, which provides a sweet taste to it. The Cobb salad is tasty, as well, with a distinctive applewood smoked pepper bacon. Those entrees are priced in the mid $20 to $30 range, very reasonable. They have an extensive wine list BTG or Bottle, with some reasonably priced around $50. They have a nice section with glass (partially) enclosed booths, which provides for some privacy, and they also have outdoor dining on a terrace which overlooks the golf course, which is surely nice when it isn't 96 degrees outside and 106 with the humidity index. read more

It's really a lovely place to have brunch. Of course you have to have access to the Boca Resort to get into the restaurant! We sat by the window and enjoyed a very leisurely brunch . They were very accommodating as I was ordering an egg white frittata with goat cheese and mushrooms and did not want the ciabatta- I was able to get a little side of lettuce and tomato instead. The French press coffee was delicious and we were able to take our time. We even were able to get the waiter to take some pictures of us inside and outside. It was delicious. Service, ambience, menu, all fall in place to make for a great experience. The only short coming, and it is a big one, was food prep on some of the basics (like steak doneness) fall short. Took in the MOLCAJETE GUACAMOLE and TOMATO CHIPS for appetizers. Both were great but alas the food also adds up in quantity quickly here too so even with sharing it was still an over order. The real problem with this is the fact, noted numerously in the other reviews, is this is a resort property restaurant only. Thus, leftovers are generally useless. I had the LOCAL FISH TACOS for dinner (which were tuna). They were great but I found myself picking at the insides with a fork because I was so full from everything else. Down size the appetizers, get core things better (like steak doneness), and this place could be a real hit for the resort and at the moment it is not. read more

The food at this luxurious hotel is great. I ordered the naked burger, a bunless burger topped with burrata served with arugula, tomatoes, and crispy prosciutto. My mom ordered the not-so-Greek salad with salmon, a grilled romaine heart with pickled onions, tomatoes, whipped feta, cucumber, and tomato. I think it's a bit of a disadvantage to this place especially since it's not marked anywhere or made known that they don't keep it open to the public, but that's what Yelp is for, right? ;) I'm grateful I knew this ahead of time from all the helpful reviews. I stayed outside on the rooftop which has a beautiful view. I love being out in the open air! Great, comfortable seating and amazing live music. The service was just okay. My friend mentioned to me before I arrived that it was very difficult to get a servers attention. She said she asked for water three times to no avail. However, there was one incredibly kind server who ended up taking care of us for the rest of the night. I do have to brag on their food - definitely top notch and high quality. I feel like the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I shared the Colby beef burger and waffle fries with my date and we both agreed it was one of the best burgers we've had in a long time. They also have amazing wings and small bites. At the end of the night, it was difficult getting my car from valet. They had posted a handwritten note to call a certain number - this normally wouldn't bother me but if you're on the map as a high end place, I do expect better service. We called several times and the number didn't work. We ended up going to the main hotel entrance and getting it there. We came here because it was convenient to the hotel. We took clients here for dinner. I would say it's more casual then what I wanted. The hostesses would dressed only in jeans and no apparent uniform. I didn't think it was right based on the fact that it's associated with the Boca Beach & Tennis Resort. It was very noisy and there were tons of families with young children. However, our waitress was adorable and very efficient. The best part was that the food we ordered was delicious. Our clients said that the filet was the best he's had in a very long time. It was very flavorful and soft. I had the grouper which was the special and very delicious. I love turkey burgers and this was one of the best I have had. The burger was topped with goat cheese and a jackfruit and walnut relish. It was served on herb focaccia. We absolutely found this place a Jem!! We went for a Saturday Night Dinner to watch the sunset by the Golf course and it was beautiful. We had the best waiter (i forgot his name, but he was from Honduras) and the food was exceptional. Went with friends to 501 East which is adjacent to the hotel. A very nice casual setting. Jonathan was our server, very personable and attentive. Started with a very good ,Kung Pao Calamari with peanuts and scallions and grilled artichokes. For entrees, decided to try the 501 Butcher Block, I had a very good ribeye and my wife ordered the filet mignon, both cooked to perfection. You have a choice of 1 side, I opted for the loaded baked potato which was huge and my wife ordered the balsamic tomatoes. The first time I dined here, I was blown away by the food and the service. We came for two very special occasions, my moms wedding rehearsal and my dad's birthday. The first time I came, I ordered the salmon with biscuits. Let me tell you it was one of the best salmon dishes I've had. The skin was crunchy and the salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy and flaky. You get two biscuits as a side and the biscuits are out of this world. I didn't think that anyone could beat Cracker Barrel biscuits but yes they did. I sampled some of the calamari and I found it to be super spicy and just okay. The complimentary bread is cheesy and fantastic. The second time I came, I wanted to try something different and I realized they had swordfish as their special. So I ordered the swordfish and their cornbread. The swordfish was blackened and just okay. While the cornbread was amazing. It is served in a mini cast iron skillet and had chunks of corn inside and the top is sweet and crunchy. My fam and I are crazy about this spot - highlights include an amazing happy hour for members MWF (50% off the entire bar + apps), incredible food all around I have never had anything I didn't love, and a great location right on the golf course with ample indoor and outdoor space. It's hard to even decide what I love most to eat here but I'll make an attempt - you can't go wrong with any of the salads (but 501 Cobb is my fave), the guac is delicious and you can adjust the heat to your liking + add veggies to dip, and the kung pao calamari is to die for - a MUST. AS far as entrees, most recent obsession is the naked burger but I substitute a turkey burger which is phenomenal and a lighter choice. Any of their burgers are a good choice though. One of their best entrees is the honey butter fried chicken - it's boneless breasts and the coating/sauce it comes with is so decadent and flavorful, it's probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. Sides - the brussel sprouts have a garlic cream sauce over them that is amazing, any of the fries are great, and the mac & cheese is perfection. One of the restaurants that we loved during our recent stay here at Boca Raton Resort and Spa is 501 East. My husband had about 90 minutes in between his sessions to grab lunch.. We met here and the view is lovely on the golf course with a wide open patio upstairs. The bar was also the venue for a 'after hours party' the first night of his conference. Lunch was perfect; no complaints! Our sandwiches were huge! They have a great wine list and flights too. I def wanted to come back for dinner. Next: Dinner. This is where our experience went completely south. I have several food allergens. They are recent and have shown their 'heads' in ugly ways: usually by my having a terrible reaction. I find it embarrassing and so hard to handle that I often don't say anything rather than ask a lot of questions and 'revamp' the menu. I look high maintenance either way is my guess. This night, I thought I had done all my little 'allergen' cross offs! We decided to split the Wedge Salad. It was so good! BUT, then after a couple of bites, I noticed my mouth feeling swollen and my husband at the same time said, 'I think that's pale corn and NOT bleu cheese'. I excused myself to the lavatory and felt ill and that burning in my mouth and tongue. This isn't one of my severe allergies, but my allergist has advised, 'don't play with it'. I came back to the table to find the manager and waiter there with my husband explaining it all. This was embarrassing. I said I was fine. Now security was sent over and asked if I needed something; I decided from how my mouth felt a Benadryl was a good idea; which I usually carry but had left in our room. He then advised me where the gift shop was; IN the main building of the resort. I am not sure what his point was of asking me if I needed anything? My filet was delivered now that they all felt I was fine or overreacting or God knows what? It was over cooked and not hot; neither were the potatoes. Did I dare say anything? No. My husband's burger was fabulous though; as is the decor and wine list here. I'm not sure how I feel about the allergy and the way they handled it. Truly a reaction at all... takes your appetite away. Spending the next two days with a raw mouth; headache and blisters living in a fog of large doses of Benadryl wasn't fun either. First day here was a 10 ; the next was a 2. Allergies are a super serious thing and as apologetic as our waiter was, the fact that ingredients are placed on items when not listed is not okay.. Over the years I've seen this restaurant change decor and concept. I've seen food go from average to bad and back and forth again. Though I've tried to like 501 East and its former iterations it was difficult because its never been a great or even very good restaurant. There were times of day when it was the only restaurant that was open in the Boca Resort and I would go - hoping it had improved and it never did. I think now the Boca Resort management has got it right. I believe 501 might be managed by a large off premise restaurant group - and if it is than that's fine because the food has never been this good. The restaurant is open for hotel guests and members. I think I've gone through much of the menu and I like just about everything. The tuna bowl is good as is the flatbreads. Burgers and the turkey sandwich are much better than average. Even their limited specials are consistently good. The menu offers few surprises and is comprised of mainly the type of food found in resort restaurants. 501 is one of the best Boca restaurants for a casual lunch. read more

We went to 501 on a Saturday night while staying at the Waldorf. There was a 45 minute wait so we waited on the terrace over looking the good course. Normally a 45 minute wait with 2 kids does not fare well however with the ambiance the property provided, it was hard not to enjoy ourselves. Once seated, we ordered our meals: tuna steak, BBQ steak, salmon and fried chicken. Tuna steak was ordered medium rare, would go with rare next time. Outer seasoning was perfect. Their mashed potatoes are the best potatoes I've ever had and that's saying a lot. I had a French onion soup for starter, probably wouldn't order again as the flavor was a little different. Aside from that the service, atmosphere and food were amazing. One member of the staff even offered to make creamed corn for my baby when she got fussy. Great service! read more

In town on business, and this place isn't just "Good for a hotel restaurant." It's good by any standards. We had a table of 12, and everyone reported enjoying their food immensely. For appetizers, we got the calamari, the guacamole, sweet potato fries, potato chips, tuna tartare, and garlic bread. We gobbled them all up and loved them all. The sweet chili sauce on the calamari is especially good. My entree was a braised short rib with an incredible "macaroni" and cheese side. Best. Short rib. Ever. It was boneless. It wasn't fatty--it was meaty and so tender I didn't even need my knife (though I used it out of etiquette--mostly to hold the rib still while I effortlessly tore bits off with my fork). I'm always unimpressed by macaroni and cheese attempts, but this was a slam dunk. The sauce was both light and rich, and the flavor cheesy but not overpowering. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Perfectly, I tell you! I'm almost weeping with joy over my keyboard here! The service was good--they were attentive without making our big group feel hurried or interrupted. Very impressed. If you're staying in Boca, get out to this restaurant and dine up and wine up! Had dinner with friends on the patio. The highlight was the salad and catch of the day. Two of us had the lobster special. It was not good. The shrimp topping wasn't tasty, the lobster not tasty and it was delivered with the tail cut in half and claws cut, but couldn't access the rest and no tool provided. Many other little thinks could be mentioned. Our server was mostly absent and never checked on our food after it was delivered. After providing room card to pay our bill, a long wait later the server came by to say she was having difficulty and it would be at least 10 more minutes. It was well over that when she returned with bills with gratuity auto added as we were a group of 6. Overall, very disappointing food and service. read more

I LOVE 501 East! I was staying at the Boca Resort for a veterinary conference and after a long day of traveling, we wanted something casual to eat. After taking a look at the menu online, we decided this was a good option because it was on property, affordable, and most importantly casual. For the price that you are paying, you feel like you are eating like a king. Their Kobe burger was to DIE for (although I ordered it one night later on when I came back). The scallops served over corn were absolutely perfect, and I am normally very particular when I order scallops. I tried a little bit of everything that my party ordered and there wasn't a single unhappy stomach at that table. The scene is inviting and relaxing, It invites you to drink and forget about the world. You'll find multiple firepitts and string lights all along the menu dining in an open balcony accompanied by a ceiling of stars and a boundless sky. read more

"Our Trip to Boca" My family and I attended a business lunch here the other day; and, we began by sharing appetizers of Grilled Peaches and Tomatoes, Grilled Artichokes, and fresh Guacamole. I am ordering the wrong thing, since I'm nowhere near a 5 star. This was dinner with the client, and since it was a group, not only did I end up with an entree but also got to sample several appetizers. We had guac, which was...well, normal guac, as well as calamari, which were tender and lightly fried in a good chili sauce, and crab dip that was again, just kind of OK. Which kind of sums up the entree, which in my case was the steak frites. The menu claimed wild mushrooms, which were present, and an orange chili sauce, which I thought sounded interesting, but secretly hoped was on the side...and I don't think I really got it at all. The steak was...cooked right, but not a lot of flavor, a little chewy, even for the typical steak frites cut. I liked the mushrooms, but couldn't help but wish it was steak au poivre - the thin french fries were really pretty good and would have been great to soak up a nice pepper gravy. The service was very friendly, I'll give it that, but the food just didn't blow me away. It's a hotel restaurant, yes, but not really a very good one. Would I come back? Well, prices weren't absurd for a hotel restaurant, and the food wasn't bad, but I'd go elsewhere first, just to try my options. For example, the sushi bar in the hotel instead. read more
