    501 colada
    Rhena S.

While staying at the Waldorf Astoria Resort and Boca Beach Club for a few days for my anniversary, my husband and I decided to have a late lunch here on Saturday. The resort has several restaurant but this particular one was recommended to us by a friend (Ingrid) who works at the resort (she is amazing by the way). We were seated promptly, the restaurant has a inside and outside seating location. We choose to sit inside since it was raining but the large glass windows still gave us a perfect view of outside over looking the water. To drink I ordered first ordered the "very berry hibiscus" but it lacked any kind of flavor so I sent it back. I replaced that drink with the "501 colada" which was flavorful and amazing! If you like sweet, fruity drinks, I would recommend this. To eat I ordered one of the specials which was the pan seared snapper, accompanied by a caesar salad. The snapper was cooked to perfection, very flavorful and moist. Everything was amazing. My husband ordered one swordfish taco's which I tried and they were really good. Our friend Ingrid joined us for lunch as well and she ordered the smoked chicken wings starter which came with a small side of shaved radish, pickled butternut squash, and wickle relish. Great food, reasonably priced, and the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable , and friendly as well. I will be returning the next time I'm in Boca.

I've been reluctant to submit a review for 501 East, as it is not a restaurant which is open to the general public. So, this review will only be of value to guests at the Boca Raton Resort and Hotel, or it's Members Only Club, or to those who know someone staying at the hotel, or a Club Member. So, you local Yelpers out there, find someone who falls into one of those categories, and enjoy a meal there. That being said, my two dining opportunities there, one lunch and another dinner, were quite positive, surprisingly so. Frankly, I was not expecting the level of professional and friendly service, which can often be a challenge in very busy hotel environments, especially in South Florida. Clearly, management is recruiting and training very good staff, as was reflected in my experiences, and these mainly young people have not been burned out yet by the Club members, some of whom appear to be, shall we say, "high maintenance". The food is what would be called New American (BTW, what's Old American?), with various meat, fish, salads, chicken, and at lunch, several different burger selections. As to the burgers, our friend, who is a member, seems to only order burgers (I don't know why, really), and you can pick between those with caramelized provolone, or a kobe beef, all natural turkey. All are severed with a huge portion of crinkle fries, really tasty. Not being a meat eater, I can't comment on those dishes. I've had broiled fish (catch of the day), scallops with corn risotto, roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans, all of which were quite good. They also make a nice caesar salad, with corn bread crumbs, which provides a sweet taste to it. The Cobb salad is tasty, as well, with a distinctive applewood smoked pepper bacon. Those entrees are priced in the mid $20 to $30 range, very reasonable. They have an extensive wine list BTG or Bottle, with some reasonably priced around $50. They have a nice section with glass (partially) enclosed booths, which provides for some privacy, and they also have outdoor dining on a terrace which overlooks the golf course, which is surely nice when it isn't 96 degrees outside and 106 with the humidity index.

It's really a lovely place to have brunch. Of course you have to have access to the Boca Resort to get into the restaurant! We sat by the window and enjoyed a very leisurely brunch . They were very accommodating as I was ordering an egg white frittata with goat cheese and mushrooms and did not want the ciabatta- I was able to get a little side of lettuce and tomato instead. The French press coffee was delicious and we were able to take our time. We even were able to get the waiter to take some pictures of us inside and outside. It was delicious. My friends ordered a beautiful smoked Damon plate and fried chicken and waffles! A great assortment of foods to choose from!

The food at this luxurious hotel is great. I ordered the naked burger, a bunless burger topped with burrata served with arugula, tomatoes, and crispy prosciutto. My mom ordered the not-so-Greek salad with salmon, a grilled romaine heart with pickled onions, tomatoes, whipped feta, cucumber, and tomato. The salmon was cooked beautifully, with crispy skin but cooked medium. Service was okay, one of the things that made this visit just under 5 stars.

501 East feels classy, fun, and somewhat elite. You can only get in if you're a hotel guest or with the band. I think it's a bit of a disadvantage to this place especially since it's not marked anywhere or made known that they don't keep it open to the public, but that's what Yelp is for, right? ;) I'm grateful I knew this ahead of time from all the helpful reviews. I stayed outside on the rooftop which has a beautiful view. I love being out in the open air! Great, comfortable seating and amazing live music. The service was just okay. My friend mentioned to me before I arrived that it was very difficult to get a servers attention. She said she asked for water three times to no avail. However, there was one incredibly kind server who ended up taking care of us for the rest of the night. I do have to brag on their food - definitely top notch and high quality. I feel like the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I shared the Colby beef burger and waffle fries with my date and we both agreed it was one of the best burgers we've had in a long time. They also have amazing wings and small bites. At the end of the night, it was difficult getting my car from valet. They had posted a handwritten note to call a certain number - this normally wouldn't bother me but if you're on the map as a high end place, I do expect better service. We called several times and the number didn't work. We ended up going to the main hotel entrance and getting it there. Anyway if you're a guest at the hotel or can go with someone else, I would say it's worth a visit. Get that burger and those fries.

Turkey burger served on herb focaccia with a side of homemade sweet potato fries. Amazing!

I had such a wonderful lunch at 501 East upon my arrival to Boca Raton. I chose to sit outside, which has a very pretty view of the golf course and surrounding homes. My server was very attentive and had a lot of great suggestions from the menu. For lunch, I chose the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. I love turkey burgers and this was one of the best I have had. The burger was topped with goat cheese and a jackfruit and walnut relish. It was served on herb focaccia. It was served with a side of homemade sweet potato fries. They were crispy and served with a chipotle bbq sauce. I could have eaten them all! They definitely do not shy on the portion sizes. Overall, my lunch at 501 East was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all!

Natural Turkey Sandwich in Herbed Focaccia Bread with well done Sweet Potato Fries.

501 East is only available to members or hotel guests, so the audience is limited. The restaurant and bar overlooks the golf course (it's above the golf shop on the second floor). The natural turkey burger isn't anything to write home about, although the goat cheese and walnut mixture elevated the sandwich a bit. Having herbed focaccia bread made it a bit heavy, as I wish I had a onion roll or another type of bun instead. Also, ask for your sweet potato fries well done (delicious!).

We absolutely found this place a Jem!! We went for a Saturday Night Dinner to watch the sunset by the Golf course and it was beautiful. We had the best waiter (i forgot his name, but he was from Honduras) and the food was exceptional. I had the Filet Mignon with the mashed potatoes and we also had the Salmon steak with the three cheese macaronis. We loved it so much we went for brunch the following day and again we weren't let down!! The service and food was amazing once again!! For brunch we had the chicken and waffles and some egg benedicts with lobster. A must come for sure!! We will definitely be returning when coming to visit Boca Raton!

Went with friends to 501 East which is adjacent to the hotel. A very nice casual setting. Jonathan was our server, very personable and attentive. Started with a very good ,Kung Pao Calamari with peanuts and scallions and grilled artichokes. For entrees, decided to try the 501 Butcher Block, I had a very good ribeye and my wife ordered the filet mignon, both cooked to perfection. You have a choice of 1 side, I opted for the loaded baked potato which was huge and my wife ordered the balsamic tomatoes. For dessert, we had the 24k chocolate cake with ice cream and the skillet chocolate chip cookie, also with ice cream. Both very good. Also very nice and fairly reasonable wine list.

Blackened swordfish + cornbread. So delicious. I recommend the salmon though. Cornbread is phenomenal. ©@julieimagery

The first time I dined here, I was blown away by the food and the service. We came for two very special occasions, my moms wedding rehearsal and my dad's birthday. The first time I came, I ordered the salmon with biscuits. Let me tell you it was one of the best salmon dishes I've had. The skin was crunchy and the salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy and flaky. You get two biscuits as a side and the biscuits are out of this world. I didn't think that anyone could beat Cracker Barrel biscuits but yes they did. I sampled some of the calamari and I found it to be super spicy and just okay. The complimentary bread is cheesy and fantastic. The second time I came, I wanted to try something different and I realized they had swordfish as their special. So I ordered the swordfish and their cornbread. The swordfish was blackened and just okay. While the cornbread was amazing. It is served in a mini cast iron skillet and had chunks of corn inside and the top is sweet and crunchy. Overall, I would come back. Especially for the salmon and biscuits.

If Tom (manager) sees this in the next 30 minutes / look for the #asian in the group of 19.... I advised it was good - didn't want to lose face in front of the large group - everyone was positive but frankly - it didn't meet expectations as it comes to service. She was nice but you really should have two servers for a larger group - that is split between two tables. We waited for drinks, waited to have plates cleaned.... Otherwise quality of food was excellent.

I ordered the grilled cheese, salad, and soup meal for $15. The soup of the day just happened to be tomato and I just happen to love it... so my little masterpiece was complete (see picture). My plate of food not only looked fantastic but it also tasted fantastic too! Oh and obviously vegetarian friendly. I was staying at the Boca Resort so it was a great find. It can be pretty pricey and upscale on the grounds, but this restaurant was definitely a nice detour from that... way more casual and reasonable. Service was very friendly! I would easily go back even if I'm not staying at the hotel. Seemed great for business lunches too. Beth's Tip: Right on the golf course, so perfect after the first 9.

The naked (bunless) burger sub with turkey burger - so juicy! Topped with crispy prosciutto & burrata

My fam and I are crazy about this spot - highlights include an amazing happy hour for members MWF (50% off the entire bar + apps), incredible food all around I have never had anything I didn't love, and a great location right on the golf course with ample indoor and outdoor space. It's gorgeous. It's hard to even decide what I love most to eat here but I'll make an attempt - you can't go wrong with any of the salads (but 501 Cobb is my fave), the guac is delicious and you can adjust the heat to your liking + add veggies to dip, and the kung pao calamari is to die for - a MUST. AS far as entrees, most recent obsession is the naked burger but I substitute a turkey burger which is phenomenal and a lighter choice. Any of their burgers are a good choice though. One of their best entrees is the honey butter fried chicken - it's boneless breasts and the coating/sauce it comes with is so decadent and flavorful, it's probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. Sides - the brussel sprouts have a garlic cream sauce over them that is amazing, any of the fries are great, and the mac & cheese is perfection. Those are all my favorites but honestly everything coming out of this kitchen is worth waiting for, come hungry!

Although it has a beautiful menu of wines and spirits, we stuck to their filtered water, and asked KC for any recommendations for lunch. Prior to my order, I mentioned a dietary restriction and KC promptly went to the kitchen to make an inquiry. I ordered the trout with lentil ragout, and my husband ordered a margarita pizza. The atmosphere was very peaceful, with unintrusive music, and we really did enjoy getting to know KC as he made sure that we were satisfied with every plate. Also loved the atmosphere once again, it's just a very nice, open place to enjoy a meal and have a drink. We got a bunch of appetizers to start. The house made Ricotta with cracked pepper and olive oil was very delicious. I also loved the crispy zucchini slices, which were topped with peppadew peppers and a chili vinaigrette. Outstanding stuff. The seared ahi tuna was next level. The fish was fresh and beautifully seated and the mix of cucumber, aji amarillo, pineapple, cilantro and wasabi cream was sensational. One of the best dishes they make at Sixty Vines. The absolute best of the bunch was the truffle fries! They were amazing. They are basically crispy layered potatoes, almost like stacks of filo dough, fried and topped with pecorino, chives and lemon truffle cream. They were so good we ordered a second one! Considering how wonderful everything was to this point, we were expecting nothing but great things for the next course. However they completely dropped the ball and basically ruined our meal with lackluster entrees. Our party ordered the steak fries with chimichurri sauce, the double cabrenet burger, and several filet mignons. The amount of time it took to get the food was unreasonable. Once the appetizers were finished we had to wait somewhere around 20 to 25 minutes to get our mains, and the place was not that busy. I assume that the waitress just forgot or was busy with something else. As for the food, the quality of the steaks was not good all around. Everybody who got the filet mignon commented that the texture was chalky and weird. They were also all overcooked. And oddly, they decided to slice the steak before serving it, so it was very dry. Why would you pre slice a steak, all that's going to do is let the juices seep out and make the temperature drop. I honestly don't get it. The steak that came with the steak fries, I think it was a skirt steak, was also not the best cut. It was super fatty and a little chewy. The fries were good though but the meat was terrible. Finally the burger was completely overdone despite the person ordering it medium rare. Overall, not the best ending to a meal that started with such amazing dishes. Really striking contrast. And actually it made me think that I probably will not go back to Sixty Vines anytime soon. For a $350 meal they have to be doing a lot better. Dried out, overcooked steaks and burgers isn't going to cut it.
