Definitely come to Papa's Raw Bar! It was family dinner night and I had a craving for some seafood. The ambiance was very relaxed and family friendly, with enough space to maneuver a stroller and welcoming to my 3-month old. There was a dj outside setting some good vibes and inside was nice a calm. Highly recommend bringing a jacket, the air conditioning inside kept the place pretty chilly when it was on and then comfortably warm when off. The food was fresh and delicious. I would say it rivals Joe's Stone Crab in Miami Beach. Everything was to perfection. My favorites were the fried calamari and the whole fried fish (didn't get a pic). A little lemon juice and nothing more was needed. Our server Mimi was delightful and had great menu knowledge. Especially appreciated her suggestion of spicy mayo with my blackened lobster sandwich rather than the sauce it comes with. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Wow, let me start off by saying I've been to many "great" seafood establishments and Papa's Raw Bar definitely takes the cake for the best one in South Florida. My wife and I enjoyed everything we ordered, the sushi, crispy rice, and wahoo bites were all 10/10, couldn't be more satisfied with their dishes. The service was also amazing, since we came in to ask for a table and our waitress Liz was super helpful in picking out drinks and food choices, she was very knowledgeable about the menu! I am definitely coming back soon, even if it's an hour drive for us! The vibes here are great and everyone who works here is super nice and attentive. When in Deerfield this is one of my favorite spots. From the service which is always so attentive , to the casual sea food shack ambience but the real star is always the food. We went on a Wednesday which is 1/2 off wines luckily and just wanted some good sushi and chowder. The clam chowder was excellent (first time I tried it). And we shared a few rolls. We started our meal with drinks and fried wantons with queso - - -wow - - I've never had that combination but it's a winner! The queso was so good I literally licked the bowl (sort of). Next we ordered dinner - my friend had the snow crab legs - 40.00/pound - she loved them. I had the steamed clams - loved them - they were really quite flavorful and dunking the roll in the juice was a fabulous way to end the meal. Both were balanced well & paired with proper ice--chewblet for the Smash and a large cube for the Ship. For food we ordered the Cracked Conch and the Wet Dream Roll. The conch was fresh with the perfect amount batter. The Wet Dream Roll had tempura Wahoo with seared scallops on top. We loved both of them. This place is incredible! Truly blown away for a restaurant in a shopping plaza. First off, the ambience has such a fun and beachy, local feel. I discovered this fish market and restaurant on Instagram while craving fried snapper for several months. I jokingly think my phone eavesdrops on me because it started showing me fish restaurants. Papa Raw Bar appeared on my feed multiple times, and it also showed up on my partner's feed, who then sent it to me. We decided to check it out the next time we visited Fort Lauderdale, and we weren't disappointed. The fish was fresh and plentiful. For starters, we ordered blackened swordfish bites served with seaweed salad and spicy mayo. My only complaint was that they were a bit stingy with the seaweed salad--I guess I'm just greedy, lol. The bites were delicious, and the fish was fresh and tasty. We also shared a fried snapper, which was cooked to perfection and served with several dipping sauces. Wahoo Fish Dip is a great shareable dish , delicious and comes with all the fixings (carrots, celery, crackers). Now - The 3.5 pound Snapper. I loved how it was scored to where some chunks just slipped right off the fish. It was lightly battered and super soft. i even ate the tail and the fins, they taste just like chips. Dish also comes with a slaw. The price was $63. Maybe just thought it was a litttttlleee bit to pricey but i really can't complain about it. Our waiter Sky was very sweet and helpful. This is my spot to bring out of town guest, or after a long day at work. Their food is always consistent, fresh, ingredients, and clean preparation. Laidback atmosphere which I can get behind. The sushi is well crafted for seafood lovers. The service is always on point and friendly waiters, bartenders, and host. The market on the side has great fresh seafood for purchased and items on sale for cooking at home. The swordfish bites are absolutely delish. The blackened taste pairs well with the seaweed salad on the side. The dishes ranging from Mac and cheese, fish tacos, battered shrimp, and sushi are all exceptional. There is a rewards program that allows you to get points to use for discounts on your purchase. This is a loyalty rewards program and with the economy this is such a nice treat from the business to its customer. I wish more establishments would adopt to this. This company is the real deal! This place is a true gem. We were visiting from California and wanted sushi. EVERYTHING that we ordered was 10/10. I had the shrimp tacos, blackened swordfish bites, and the Rangoon. I couldn't believe how good everything was. And while we were there, they had a raffle to give away prizes while raising $$ for low income families. Came by for a quick lunch on my birthday. It was my first visit and service was very good! Parking was available right up front when I visited but the lot isn't huge and I can imagine the place filling up! I opted to sit at the bar outside, right at the entrance. My server explained their menu and HH very thoroughly. I got a dozen oysters, half dozen NOLA oysters, connected by water roll, and a strawberry mojito. Food was generally good. First oyster tasted fresh. They miscounted and only gave me 11 for my dozen but when I mentioned, I was brought one more. My first time having grilled oysters, which I thought were decent. I prefer them raw for sure but was at a price to try. The sushi roll was interesting. I am a salmon lover and there weren't any rolls that focused on just salmon. I settled for this roll which had four different fish, including salmon. I didn't love the flavor combination of this roll. Just ended up being a lot going on and couldn't taste the fish much. At least it was as filling as one would hope for a specialty roll for the price. While refreshing, my mojito was probably the only truly disappointing part of the meal. There was mint in it but it wasn't minty and tasted like 100% non-alcoholic. I can't wait to come back for some more oysters and try their stone crab. They also have a little fresh market right next door to the restaurant where you can get goods to go. read more

Even their regular French fries were good lol French is a must if you're getting seafood. -French fries 5/5 -Mac and cheese 4/5 -oysters 4/5 -raw clams 4/5 The star of the show was the FRIED HOG FISH. My goodness it was worth every penny. I believe it was almost $60 for the fried hog fish. Close to 3lbs. It fed 4 grown adults. Fried to perfection. Crispy and meaty. Lightly seasoned.
