The history of the restaurant is on the menu and the original vault is pretty cool to see in person. The service was wonderful. Everyone was very personable and super friendly. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend trying whatever sounds good as it was all wonderful. The highlights were the wings, they were so flavorful and fell off the bone and the short rib egg rolls. The gravy dip sauce was a must have. So we decided to scurry on up to Pompano Beach for an adventure and decided to do lunch at The Vault. I'm told that it's an old bank building and found it to be open and bright. There's a busy bar and the tables are in the front, adjacent to the bar and in the back. Our four top was too close to the very noisy kitchen, which the day we were there, seemed to have a few loud mishaps that were jarring. Other than that, service was hit and miss but we weren't in a hurry. To the food: three out of four of us ordered the well reviewed smash burgers. Not a complaint from anyone. Very good they reported. The accompanying french fried potatoes got mixed reviews. Fresh cut and covered in some sort of whatever, we thought that they would be better plain. Me being the outlier, I chose the mahi plate which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fish was prepared perfectly, moist and delicious. The sides were okay. About that broccoli: The Vault does love it. There was broccoli cheddar soup, a smashed broccoli cheese appetizer and the only side dish was...broccoli! The Vault in Pompano leans into its name with a cool, historic-inspired atmosphere that actually feels intentional, not gimmicky. It has that old-meets-modern vibe that makes it stand out right away. The food definitely holds up to the setting. The chicken wings were the highlight fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily some of the better wings I've had. The egg rolls were crispy with a rich filling, and the mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying without being too heavy. Drinks were well-made, and the overall experience felt polished but still relaxed. It's one of those spots where the ambiance and food actually match, which is rarer than it should be. It has nice atmosphere and it's easy to have a conversation. There is Free parking next to the restaurant. There is a large bar. Staff was great. The menu is a mix of small and large plates. Everything tasted fresh. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The short rib was tender and not fatty. It was served over delicious potatoes. The bacon wrapped green beans with balsamic were also delicious. The smashed broccoli was more like a pancake made with Parmesan cheese. I didn't see any broccoli in my portion of the dish. I wouldn't order this again The wings were good, but there was nothing unique about them. The espresso martini was served in a beautiful glass. It wasn't filled to the top. It was not a creamy martini. The warm bread pudding for $8 was delicious. I do wish it was served a la mode. They comped my dessert since it was my birthday. On Monday, 2/9/26, my husband and I went to celebrate his birthday at the Vault. We arrived at 5:30 and able to choose a table. Our server, Reece, was welcoming and helpful with menu suggestions. I ordered a HH cocktail. Flapper's Fizz which was light and tasty. We both ordered the Braised Short Ribs with potatoes and gravy. It was Amazing!! The meat was so tender no knife was needed and perfect spices for a delicious meal!! Very good choice. By 6:00 pm it became busy, For dessert we split a banana pudding dish and enjoyed it thoroughly. The Vault lives up to its name, a hidden treasure located in the historical First Bank building. I consider myself an amateur historian and knowing the historical significance of the Vault building added charm to the dinner experience. The restaurant is cozy and most patrons were huddled by the bar area which added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The service at the Vault is great! The staff take pride in the food and their enthusiasm to provide great service shines through. I stared with the Bees Knees cocktail which I would describe as having a spicy sugar cane taste as the hot honey and spiciness is alway present. The Flapper's Fizz gin IMHO is the perfect summer cocktail, a berry delight that is also super refreshing. For dinner I went with the award winning First Bank Smash Burger the burger was perfect, gruyere, caramelized onions, mushrooms and a burger that was cooked to perfection. I ended the meal with the Pineapple Upside down cake which was also stellar the warm spices used in the cake accented the moistness of the cake perfectly. The Vault is open and you don't need a key to get in. The Vault Restaurant is one of those hidden special restaurants in Pompano Beach that revitalizes the community. Terrific speakeasy ambiance in a VERY cool district of downtown Pompano. Service and food were also excellent. Ask about outdoor seating...it's sort of out back across a small alleyway 5 star ambience: inside the main building, it still has a vague bank building vibe and a cool speakeasy bar theme. Outside there's a neat covered seating area behind the main building. This part of Pompano is a community redevelopment district with great street art and lots of free bands etc on most weekends. Parking is also free...perfect for cheapskate Joe. 5 star service: our server was amazingly nice. He even brought over the owner. My two friends arrived a little early and they even gave them a bit of a tour. 5 star food: I had something called the Outlaw Bowl ( the former bank on the same spot was robbed, there's a fun story on the back of the menu). I always go there for their lunch and it's a small menu but it's only $10 and worth it. I've had most of the menu items on there between the chicken sandwich, Laura croissant, and smash burger all of them are delicious. The decor is very 20s and I love the vibe especially sitting in the back where it's a bit darker. With the cute little lights. All the servers are very nice and even rush our food a little bit more because we are always in our work uniform. If I had to pick a favorite so far it would be the Laura Croissant. read more

Greeted and immediately seated. Cool little restaurant off of Dixie Highway in Old Town pompano Beach. It used to be a back (the original vault is in display) Hubby got. Short ribs Mac n cheese (he said it was ready good) I got some kind of chicken veggie and rice bowl to absolutely die for! White coconut rice next to perfectly sized cubed chicken, broccoli, walnuts, red pepper, onion, drizzled with honey and some other magic flavors that are yelling at me to eat more, even though I'm stuffed. I had a lunch date with my husband last week and sat at the bar. The service was very good considering that the bar tender was also the server for the whole restaurant and the food runner. He definitely kept busy when the restaurant filled up. The lunch menu for $10 is probably the best option for price and food quantity. Most people took advantage of the burger special. We opted to get a little more bang for our experience since we had never been here before. We order a bunch of appetizers or what they call small plates which were also very small portions. The menu has two prices, one for a very small portion and the larger price for a double portion which would serve two people. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Egg rolls which were my favorite. The outside was crispy and the inside was creamy. We had asked for both the ranch and blue cheese dipping sauce on the side but they only brought us the ranch. The Meatball was no bueno, One meatball was the size of a golf ball and it was cold in the center and needed to be sent back. The Mahi fingers were well cooked but we asked for them to be blackened but they were mostly grilled. The deviled eggs were very good and the small portion is shareable. The Cheesy smashed Broccoli was good but I was hoping for more broccoli for the price. Most everything we thought that the portion size was too small for the prices outside of Happy Hour. They do offer a menu with Happy Hour options after 4pm which might be a better time to dine here. read more

THE VAULT, PAID OFF! Don't confuse The Vault with that place where the kids go to jump! That's not this ! The Vault Restaurant and Bar in Old Towne Pompano was a truly great find ! I had seen they had a blue crab chowder and sooooo wanted to try it ! I'm in Ft Lauderdale, but my grown child and a friend coming in town, required a quick drive in that direction. The menu here is great and everything we ordered was delicious ! What I really loved were the numerous choices of small plates! I will refer you to the menu, but we did have: Lettuce Lake Cobb Salad - This was so refreshing!. We chose a side of blue cheese and one of Ranch ! Everything in the salad was perfect. The size of the salad (and this is the $10 lunch deal) was easily split between three of us! Downtown Rangoons- crispy, wontons stuffed with crab and cheese. Not usually into oriental, but these were very good n I even used the sweet Thai chili ! Short Rib Eggrolls - We had two, stuffed to the gills with delicious short rib meat, grueyer cheese, onion and more cheese. The reduction sauce (au jus?) complemented the rib rolls wonderfully!! And these were HUGE ! Withdrawal Wings - A true triple threat!! Beautifully seasoned and sizeable chicken wings dipped, fried, dipped. baked n I think dipped n grilled! Phew ! But they were a real triple threat! Their drinks are poured the way they drink them ! Had a late birthday brunch link up here and it was a lovely experience. My friend and I indulged in the wings, hot honey bacon bites, bootleggers mac and cheese, krab Rangoon and the burger. Everything was more than decent, bacon could have been a bit crisper for my taste but it was good. Burger was the absolute star as it was smash patty style with the perfect crisp edges and simply dressed. They made me an ok Kir Royale by request. The staff is warm and excited to share the history of the building and business name. Blessed me with a yummy and moist chocolate cake slice as a bday treat! They have various events throughout the week and love locals. We went around 3p on a Sunday and it was very quiet until about 4:30 when early dinner guests arrived. 5/5 - Incredible Dining Experience at The Vault! I had one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time at The Vault in Pompano Beach. From the moment I sat down, everything was spot-on. I ordered the Vault Wings and they were absolutely perfect--crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The bruschetta was also outstanding, with the perfect combo of warm, toasted bread topped with cool, fresh tomatoes. Simple but unforgettable. Our server, Gilberto, was phenomenal. He's incredibly well-educated on the menu, attentive, genuinely kind, and truly great at his job. On top of that, Manager Rich stopped by twice to check in, which made the experience feel even more personal and cared for. At the bar, GREY crafted his signature Crème Bru-Grey Martini--one of the best cocktails I've had. He's as funny as he is talented behind the bar, which made the whole atmosphere even better. Even the kitchen staff went above and beyond, bringing out each dish and checking in after every bite. That level of service is rare these days and really stood out. And away we go. Had dinner on Friday night 4/25. What a culinary delight here. Especially that their menu has tapas style items for a single person or as a shareable. Such a great selection of items and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Service was great as well. Ambiance was cool. This area of old town in Pompano Beach is getting good. We will be repeats here. Kudos to the owner/s. They have a great thing going here. The buttermilk fried pickles were the best we've had anywhere. The wings were nice & crispy with a delicious sweet (but not too sweet) & tangy sauce. The shrimp cakes were so fresh & filed with nice large chunks of shrimp with onions & peppers. The crab Rangoon's were totally amazing. Little pockets of joy filled with just the right amount of cream cheese & crab meat. The chocolate cake was nice & dense. So good. Came with my ladies group. It was a large group & a bit overwhelming for the server. I will start by saying that she needed help. The restaurant is very small & we pretty much took over most of it. Now- for the food. This was certainly the Highlight of our experience. Once we got the food, everyone loved everything. The menu has small & large plates. I ordered the green beans wrapped in bacon with balsamic. Very yummy!!! Then I had the Seafood Cocktail. Reminded me of Ceviche. Also delicious. Served with wontons like triangles. I would have preferred lettuce but was ok with that. Saving the best for last- The Pineapple Upside Cake with ice cream! Served warm - Wow- I was blown away- so good!!! Where can you get a $10 lunch special? At The Vault in Pompano Beach, that's where. Housed in the former State Street Bank of Pompano building in Old Pompano you can see the vault in the dining room. The interior is nicely appointed and strives for a speak easy vibe. The inside bar is very long and if the weather is nice the Side Alley bar is outside, covered and dog friendly, there is a large nautical mural behind the bar. A super plus to visiting The Vault is plenty of available parking near by and it's free. I was there for lunch and selected the smash burger with a side of broccoli, fries being another option and my friend ordered the Caesar salad with added chicken for an up charge of $7. They are still working out timing as my friend's salad came out well before my burger. The manager apologized and owned the delay. Service was super attentive and very pleasant. Our food was delicious and nicely presented. I would definitely order the smash burger again but there are so many other enticing menu options. Some of the items names give a nod to the local area and history, for example, Lettuce Lake Cobb salad, and King of the Glades chicken sandwich. They are open 7 days a week and have Happy Hour from 4-7 Monday through Friday. I recommend The Vault and will be returning. read more

My wife has been following the progress of The Vault and when we saw they were open we planned a lunch stop here. A trip back in time with period decor and some Pompano history set the scene for some fantastic Food offerings. I ordered a Beef slider off the Lunch menu which was a thick patty of a perfectly blend of beef and cooked just right! Accompanying the sliders was a generous side of Thick cut fries also done just right and delicious! We had a wonderful lunch here. They are still in their "soft" opening phase, but are already popular with locals and Pompano government officials from nearby offices. Housed in a former bank building in Old Town Pompano, the totally remodeled space is welcoming. There's a large bar surrounded by tables. We had very good and personable service from Tristan who has been here since they opened -- just a few weeks back. They have an extensive regular menu with lots of small plates that can be shared as well as larger offerings. As we were there for lunch, we took advantage of their lunch specials menu. My husband had their smash burger which was a good beef blend on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and sauce. He says it had a nice grilled flavor. I got their Waldorf chicken salad sandwich which came on a soft croissant. The chicken salad was delicious -- apples, walnuts, raisins (grapes?) , and celery. We both got steak fries as our side. The other side option is broccoli. We both said at the same time we'd love to come back. There are a lot of options on their small plates section that would pair well with happy hour drinks! My husband and I had an absolutely delicious brunch at this super pet-friendly and fun hidden gem. The restaurant was kind of empty when we went which I found strange, but I realized right away it must be because the word isn't out yet because everything was great about our experience! The staff was super friendly and on top of it. They have a pet friendly patio where they had live music. They have a pet menu which was a super cute touch. The drinks were delicious and super well balanced and the food was exquisite. We got a bunch of small plates to share: the avocado toast, egg in purgatory, mahi mahi fingers, and the hot honey chicken. Nothing short of 5 stars. I've only been here twice but I can tell, and I'll be back regularly and will update the stars if need be but I don't see the rating going down any time soon. I tried this place because of the rating and the pictures. When I saw they had $10 lunches (from 11:30 to 4pm M-F as of may2025) I was pretty shocked because almost nothing is $10 for lunch anymore especially good food with good service. Their menu is a bit unique which is pretty hip I suppose. Here's just a few fun appetizers (aka small plates): Bacon wrapped green beans Crispy smashed broccoli Deviled Eggs (not a rare food, but rare to be served as an appetizer imo) Those are the 3 I've tried and I confirm they're great. They offer different sizes as well which is convenient based on your belly's mood. The $10 that grabbed my attention is still my favorite experience. Not just because of the price but because the food delivers! I've had their "Chicken Sandwich" which I'll admit deserves a cooler name, but it was the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had recently. They offer it grilled/fried/blackened but grilled was what I went with, and I doubt I'd try the others because grilled was top notch with how well it was prepared (and its toppings). The "Steak Fries" that come with the sandwich are super unique. Obviously hand cut, interestingly seasoned, and seemed to be cooked differently. I can't put my finger on how but I can see it being lightly breaded and flash-fried more so than a long deep fry, but I could be wrong. Didn't provide the guilt of fast-food fries, They're huge, they're filling, it seemed like a full potato served sliced into 7-10 giant wedges. Itll fill you up, trust me. More recently I've had their Cobb, which also is a 10/10. The size, the quality, and the price is nothing short of 5 stars. You can add protein but with plenty of bacon and other toppings I was stuffed after nearly finishing it. Theres plenty of lettuce, but it's served with the lettuce completely covered by the toppings. For $10 they may honestly be losing money on it. I can't decide which I like better, the salad or the sandwich, but after how great both were my new goal is to try all of their $10 lunch menu (avail M-F 11:30-4pm as of 5/2025) I can't rave enough about my limited experience here, but the story of the building (check their website) to the experience itself is amazing. This is my first time here to meet some friends after work. We arrived in time for happy hour and had a few drinks to get warmed up and the blood flowing. Not gonna kid ya, it was loud, too loud to have in-depth conversations until we moved to the back, which was better. For Apps, deviled eggs were a favorite, but they were bland, yet very creamy. The small salad was fresh and nicely done. We thought about the meatballs but decided instead on meals. The tapas-style menu is good, but a bit pricy. For dinner, I had the shrimp bowl with coconut rice. The only downside (for me) was that I didn't know the shrimp would be deep-fried. My sweetheart had the small shrimp skewer plate and a garden salad, which she loved. As our server informed us several times, the food is cooked "from scratch," and it is fresh. The quality is excellent, and I enjoyed the flavors. There were other things on the menu I want to try, so we will return. read more
