Mac & Cheese, Chicken Wings
Sophie R.

The Vault in Pompano leans into its name with a cool, historic-inspired atmosphere that actually feels intentional, not gimmicky. It has that old-meets-modern vibe that makes it stand out right away. The food definitely holds up to the setting. The chicken wings were the highlight fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily some of the better wings I've had. The egg rolls were crispy with a rich filling, and the mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying without being too heavy. Drinks were well-made, and the overall experience felt polished but still relaxed. It's one of those spots where the ambiance and food actually match, which is rarer than it should be. Definitely worth checking out.

Friday night crowd. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and only ordered appetizers. The short ribs egg rolls were stuffed. The seasoning kind of threw it off mark. The brazen hot honey tips were dry very tough to eat. The Rangoons was probably the best of the 3. Will try other items next time.

We sat outside in their large alleyway area on a beautiful evening. We caught happy hour (5-7 pm) Drink specials for HH, no food. I had a cocktail made with gin, elderflower and prosecco. We had the buffalo chicken egg rolls, which were delicious and the grilled shrimp.

The Vault is one of Pompano Beach's most unique dining spots -- a beautifully restored historic bank turned into a stylish restaurant with incredible food. We came for HH before it got too busy. We loved everything from the seafood gumbo, grilled shrimp, crispy smashed broccoli, to the shrimp cakes, award-winning smashburger, and the perfectly crafted Chocolate Old Fashioned. The seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the bread pudding was the perfect finish. I also appreciate that they have 2 options for small plates: shareable or solo. I can try a bunch of things this way. Service from Gilberto was warm and attentive. A must‑visit in Old Town for great food, great cocktails, and a true sense of local history.

Very cute place . Bartender was super nice. Since it was our first time he told us the history of the restaurant. Tuesday they have smash burgers for $12 . Service was good . Need to come back and try some of the their stuff this time it was only a drink and burger

Came here not knowing g what to expect and we were very happy. The smash burger was great, as were the dill pickles and the fries. So different. Loved the old fashioned and the flapper fizz. This is a fun place with great vibes!

It has nice atmosphere and it's easy to have a conversation. There is Free parking next to the restaurant. There is a large bar. Staff was great. The menu is a mix of small and large plates. Everything tasted fresh. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The short rib was tender and not fatty. It was served over delicious potatoes. The bacon wrapped green beans with balsamic were also delicious. The smashed broccoli was more like a pancake made with Parmesan cheese. I didn't see any broccoli in my portion of the dish. I wouldn't order this again The wings were good, but there was nothing unique about them. The espresso martini was served in a beautiful glass. It wasn't filled to the top. It was not a creamy martini. The warm bread pudding for $8 was delicious. I do wish it was served a la mode. They comped my dessert since it was my birthday. It would have been nice if they added a candle to it since they knew it was my birthday. The restaurant seemed like it should have cloth napkins instead of paper.

On Monday, 2/9/26, my husband and I went to celebrate his birthday at the Vault. We arrived at 5:30 and able to choose a table. Our server, Reece, was welcoming and helpful with menu suggestions. I ordered a HH cocktail. Flapper's Fizz which was light and tasty. We both ordered the Braised Short Ribs with potatoes and gravy. It was Amazing!! The meat was so tender no knife was needed and perfect spices for a delicious meal!! Very good choice. By 6:00 pm it became busy, For dessert we split a banana pudding dish and enjoyed it thoroughly. The vibe here is a Speak Easy theme. Thank you to Reece for being attentive, cheerful, and helpful. We will return !

The Vault lives up to its name, a hidden treasure located in the historical First Bank building. I consider myself an amateur historian and knowing the historical significance of the Vault building added charm to the dinner experience. The restaurant is cozy and most patrons were huddled by the bar area which added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The service at the Vault is great! The staff take pride in the food and their enthusiasm to provide great service shines through. I stared with the Bees Knees cocktail which I would describe as having a spicy sugar cane taste as the hot honey and spiciness is alway present. The Flapper's Fizz gin IMHO is the perfect summer cocktail, a berry delight that is also super refreshing. For dinner I went with the award winning First Bank Smash Burger the burger was perfect, gruyere, caramelized onions, mushrooms and a burger that was cooked to perfection. I ended the meal with the Pineapple Upside down cake which was also stellar the warm spices used in the cake accented the moistness of the cake perfectly. The Vault is open and you don't need a key to get in. The Vault Restaurant is one of those hidden special restaurants in Pompano Beach that revitalizes the community. All patrons would agree that The Vault is a special restaurant that has an added element of historical charm. I hope you enjoy Vault too!

Definitely a hidden gem! The food was delicious and the $10 lunch special is a steal!!! The decor ties perfectly into the history and story behind they location. The service was great and it was nice meeting the baker who makes that delicious bread pudding .

Terrific speakeasy ambiance in a VERY cool district of downtown Pompano. Service and food were also excellent. Ask about outdoor seating...it's sort of out back across a small alleyway 5 star ambience: inside the main building, it still has a vague bank building vibe and a cool speakeasy bar theme. Outside there's a neat covered seating area behind the main building. This part of Pompano is a community redevelopment district with great street art and lots of free bands etc on most weekends. Parking is also free...perfect for cheapskate Joe. 5 star service: our server was amazingly nice. He even brought over the owner. My two friends arrived a little early and they even gave them a bit of a tour. 5 star food: I had something called the Outlaw Bowl ( the former bank on the same spot was robbed, there's a fun story on the back of the menu). Outlaw Bowl is sort of a teriyaki chicken stir fry with coconut rice...amazingly good and highly recommended

Smashburger and broccoli minus the bun. Personal preference.

I always go there for their lunch and it's a small menu but it's only $10 and worth it. I've had most of the menu items on there between the chicken sandwich, Laura croissant, and smash burger all of them are delicious. The decor is very 20s and I love the vibe especially sitting in the back where it's a bit darker. With the cute little lights. All the servers are very nice and even rush our food a little bit more because we are always in our work uniform. If I had to pick a favorite so far it would be the Laura Croissant.

My chicken and rice dish... half eaten, sorry)

Greeted and immediately seated. Cool little restaurant off of Dixie Highway in Old Town pompano Beach. It used to be a back (the original vault is in display) Hubby got. Short ribs Mac n cheese (he said it was ready good) I got some kind of chicken veggie and rice bowl to absolutely die for! White coconut rice next to perfectly sized cubed chicken, broccoli, walnuts, red pepper, onion, drizzled with honey and some other magic flavors that are yelling at me to eat more, even though I'm stuffed. The service was great, the prices were reasonable. (Did not get dessert)

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

From the very beginning, event coordinators Lauren Ocheske and Caitlin Fraga took incredible care of every detail and made sure our event ran flawlessly. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and positive energy made the entire planning process seamless. The event staff absolutely crushed it. Huge thanks to the incredible bartenders and servers -- Connor, Kassidi, Kortney, Daniel, Nigel, Leo, Megan, Vlad, and Annie -- who provided truly epic service all night long. The champagne was flowing, the signature EME Peach-Tini was a massive hit, and the food was phenomenal. The steak and potatoes were AMAZING... our guests definitely ate more than their fair share! With the stunning beachfront views and DJ Misha playing the perfect music to match the vibe, the entire evening felt magical. It was the perfect setting for our White Party and created an unforgettable experience for our guests. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to work with. For dinner, he got the honey chicken Sammy with sidewinder fries, and I went with the chimmichurri steak frites with curly fries... SO good. Everything came out piping hot, quickly, and you can tell the food and drinks are really thoughtfully crafted. What stood out most, though, was the customer service. The three main staff members Drew, Mel, and Darian (I think?) were incredible. Every single one of them went above and beyond for every guest the entire time. When we arrived, there were just a couple tables outside, but once it started raining, they seamlessly accommodated everyone inside without missing a beat. The vibe is such a cool mix, neighborhood spot meets speakeasy meets tiki with a slightly elevated feel, but still super comfortable. Everyone in the place seemed to know each other or quickly became friends. The music was great, and by 7:30 the live entertainment started, he was funny, engaging, and talented. We got there just in time to catch the tail end of happy hour for our first drink, and from there it just kept getting better. Drew, the bartender, even went out of his way to make me a specialty drink I had seen on Yelp that's no longer on the menu, such a thoughtful touch. By 7:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed, which says everything. Exceptional service, amazing food, great drinks, and an all around fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back.

You ever open a drink menu and immediately realize... yeah, you're not leaving anytime soon?…read more That was me at Twice Removed Gastropub. Because this isn't one of those places where you scan the menu, shrug, and say "I'll just take a beer." No no. This is the kind of spot where every cocktail sounds like it has a backstory... and you suddenly trust the bartender more than yourself. Creative. Unique. Actually delicious. Not just trying to be different for the sake of it. These drinks land. And if cocktails aren't your thing, don't worry... the beer and cider lineup is deep. Drafts, bottles, cans... it's like they said, "Why limit happiness?" And honestly? That's the tone of the whole place. Welcoming. Comfortable. The kind of vibe where you could show up for one drink and accidentally solve all your life problems over three. Now let's talk food. Because this is where things get interesting... in a good way, mostly. The meatballs? Legit. The kind that make you pause mid-conversation just to acknowledge what's happening. The poutine... But... There's a small twist in the plot. That bacon jam. Someone in the kitchen is in love. And I respect it. But they might be a little too generous. It leans heavy. Not a dealbreaker, just a "whoa, okay, I see you" moment. Micro twist? You'll say you're full... and then still find yourself reaching for one more bite like it owes you money. Here's the bottom line. Twice Removed Gastropub knows exactly what it is. Great drinks. Solid food. A place that feels easy the second you walk in and even harder to leave. Four stars. We were coming from Hallandale, we had an 8pm reservation got seated around 815 which wasn't too bad. We were sat in a dimmer quieter section away which I really appreciate since our 1 year old was sleeping giving us the perfect date-night setting. Unfortunately the last time we been to Shooters was Valentine's Day 2025. We weren't aware that the menu had been changed since our last time dining which was rather unfortunate since the two entrees (seared brown butter scallops & shrimp and grilled soy-ginger glazed salmon) we came for were changed on the menu. We ended up getting the soy glazed salmon and scallops & prawns which unfortunately we did not enjoy at all. Even the sides were different previously you could just get a side of Mac now you can only get a side of truffle Mac? The grilled soy ginger salmon was on a bed of veggies (bok choy, Napa cabbage, onions, peppers) the one that's currently on the menu was basically on two inedible pieces of bok choy and a bed of rice I couldn't even break and chew the bok choy. Our server Ava was very attentive and sweet even gave a beautiful little treat for a birthday dessert ( not a chocolate fan but her energy made the dessert amazing ). After we paid our check we asked Ava for a manager and did specify that it was regarding the food more and not her service. I didn't catch the name of the manager we spoke to but her response to us simply questioning the menu change was she's not the culinary director or something along those lines but she would still hear our feedback. She just had such an I don't care attitude about it in my opinion and had I not had a few drinks in my system, trying to enjoy my time out with my family and birthday I would've let her know her attitude regarding it just was unnecessary. We unfortunately agreed to find a new go-to restaurant to celebrate our special occasions since so much has changed. Thank you so much to Ava for making our visit worth it! Didn't get pictures of the salmon, scallops, drinks or oysters that we got but I did get the fish dip and the dessert. Edited to add pictures from one of our previous visits
