We were served by Darcy who was quick, answered all our questions, provided great suggestions and checked up on us often. We also had constant refills from other staff Food: large portions and tasty! I got one of the omelettes and my boyfriend ordered the country fried steak. His hashbrowns could have been crispier but the flavor on everything was great. Everything was delicious. We got the biscuits grilled which was the best choice. I even liked their homemade hot sauce. I didn't love the orange juice. It was fresh squeezed but a little more sour than I would have liked. I was hoping we would have room for dessert but we were stuffed and even took portions to go. Ambiance: diner style but updated and it's a pretty large space. Everything is clean, including the bathroom. Parking is kind of tricky out front but there are ample spots around the side and back. A large place to handle big crowds with attentive and friendly staff, a huge selection of food at reasonable prices and huge portions. Went here for the first time after a friend's strong recommendation. It's been a Fort Lauderdale-area staple for decades, but somehow I had missed coming here for breakfast! We were able to snag a parking spot in front. I am not sure if there's parking around the back, but I can imagine parking can be a little difficult at times. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and they sat us in the annex section. The room we were in can be reserved for a large parties. The decor was modern and there are several TV screens with information about the restaurant and menu. Our waitress was very attentive and told us about the menu. There are many solid breakfast staples available. I was in the mood for just eggs and pancakes, and they were both prepared well. The coffee is quite good, too. I absolutely adore this place! I thought I had written a review already? I guess not! This is a beautifully constructed business with ridiculously good food and specials. They have a loyal clientele base that opens the store with them every morning 15 minutes before opening. They have Bloody Marys and homemade sangria but my favorite was the strawberry mimo set with fresh juice. There are two sections to this restaurant, you can reserve one space for private functions or corporate events, there are bathrooms in each of the spots, and they have booths or tables. There is no outside seating and there is a parking lot that fills up quickly. read more

Sad because from the looks of it I thought I found a hidden gem! I ordered a corned beef sandwich to go. The bread was burnt and over buttered, the corned beef was very limited (would guess 1/4lb or less!), and so were the fries (less than a handful). Cole slaw was ok, mayo based but not too soggy. For $20 I can go to Smoke, FatBoyz, Goldbergs, or Top Hat and do a lot better. It was quite busy on a Sunday morning but they were seating tables quickly. Mom's kitchen is the best! We were looking for a restaurant to host a bi-weekly pastors' breakfast for 7 month, and found Mom's. They have a private room, with Bluetooth and tv's that can project our own content. The manager Andrew was very helpful and made sure we could host these breakfasts here, and with the amazing help of our waitress Julie they made it a success. Looking for a breakfast place in Ft. Lauderdale and I had a craving for some basic homegrown diner food. Mom's was it! I cannot believe how much I love small diners. These places are the epitome of America and the back bone of our food industry. I absolutely love these little diner offerings. And Mom's didn't disappoint. It's super cute inside and extremely homey. As soon as I was sat, my waitress was immediately attentive and ensured I was taken care of. I opt'd for the biscuits and gravy - to me it's always the best indicator of how the kitchen operates.. and a true test for good food. And it definitely didn't disappoint. Although Mom's has been around since 1972 I had just started seeing Mom's Kitchen a lot on Yelp and social media recently. I was excited when my son and I were looking for a place to eat and we happened to drive by Mom's. We arrived at 10:30 am so it was kind of in between breakfast and lunch but they still had a steady flow of customers. We opted for breakfast, I had my go-to breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, $8.00 and he had the Country Special. His meal consisted of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and hash browns, it was a great deal for $14. The prices were very reasonable and the serving sizes plentiful. Check-in on Yelp and receive a 10% off offer. Service was attentive, pleasant and efficient. My coffee never got halfway empty before any of the servers came around to top it off. There is an awesome display of bakery items to greet you as you enter. Mom's Kitchen has an old school vibe and it seems like a lot of the diners are regulars who frequently visit to enjoy a hearty meal. There were TVs and a lot of sports memorabilia on the walls. We sat inside but they also have a patio seating area and a few tables on the sidewalk. There is street parking in front of the restaurant. Mom's is convenient to Holy Cross Hospital. Moms is always a comfort spot for us. We do breakfast and lunch and always enjoy. There was a change this week and as you enter, all folks need to use a QR code to join waitlist. Allow me to mention that there are a variety of ages serviced by this comfort spot. The young woman at the podium was having no part of a customer who took a bit of time on this process. She actually said to one person locating the camera button on her phone "this is not rocket science ". She said to another when he found the camera "and just don't take a picture ". What a disappointment. I mean the food was fine...I had the Bagel and Lox and a decaf coffee. It wasn't the best bagel in the world and was under toasted. The biggest issue was a Transphobic comment made by a customer to which one of the servers started adding two cents worth. I don't have her name, but she was foul-mouthed, loud, and obnoxious. She was probably mid to late sixties with blondish curly hair. I can assure you I won't be back. You can't control what customers say, but your team certainly shouldn't be joining in.
