Always on the hunt for a great diner, and Lester's Diner absolutely delivered. Tucked away on its own near a business park (which is always a good sign in my books) this place has all the right retro vibes, from the atmosphere to the menu. The food was even better than expected. The beef brisket was fantastic! Packed with flavor and super tender. The meatloaf sandwich was just as impressive, seasoned perfectly and stacked with a generous double slice of meatloaf that made it extra satisfying. The beef brisket open sandwich (sensing a theme?) was smothered in gravy which was very good. They're also known for their huge cups of coffee, though we skipped it this time. Still, Lester's nails what a great diner should be: comforting food, solid portions, and old-school charm. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I was out late night and was i hungry for some Diner food! Lester's is a Broward Staple and you can always count of it being satisfying. My pancakes were amazing and so were all the other yummy things we ordered. our server was on point and knowledgeable and We left full and happy

The food here has always been excellent. Been coming here over 20 years. Bagels are always fresh and must come from a local bakery. Crispy and fluffy on the inside. I get breakfast every time I come and it never disappoints. One time I thought the waitress wasn't listening and I thought she got our order wrong. It was my mistake to even think that because not only did she nail everything on the order, everything was incredibly delicious! Not to mention cheap! I love how cute the inside is and I always get a nostalgic feeling when I see the giant coffee sign outside at night. Can't beat breakfast all day!

This really wasn't my first, second or third choice in terms of getting a late night bite. I arrived after a few delays to Fort Lauderdale airport and went to the car rental place but the car rental place was closed so as I tried to kill some time and mull over my options I decided to get some food. We got there maybe around 1 AM on a Saturday morning, and as you can expect it was pretty slow. They were maybe 15 people here chatting lowly to themselves minus the group of ladies in my section who I'm not sure were ending or just starting their night. When you walk in there's two sides - one to the right and one to your left and straight ahead is the bar area with seating. The menu was pretty good. It offered quite a few different options from Greek to Italian to American. There wasn't a ton of options in each category but a good variety of cuisines. The food was simply alright. We ordered: Greek Burger which was topped with melted feta cheese, sliced cucumber, tomato, onion and house Greek sauce for $14.99. We ordered it with a side of coleslaw and that was really good actually. Perfect balance. I needed more of the Greek sauce for it to really stand out. Otherwise it didn't really taste special and I would have went with a different option. We also had the Greek combo which had the baked spinach pie, baked moussaka, baked pastitsio, stuffed grape leaves, served with rice all for 18.99 dollars. We mostly picked around on this place. The spinach pie was a hit! The moussaka we were split on if it was good or not. The grape leaves were solid. The pastitsio we both gave thumbs down to. It felt like it needed some more juice from the meat. It looks like there aren't a ton of late night options to choose from. So you might end up here or one of their other 3 locations across the area. If so my advice is to stick with their breakfast items. Looking at other plates, they looked a bit more pleased with their food than us. After all the food you eat you pay at the end up up front right by the entrance / exit. Theres also a ramp for ADA accessibility and a good size parking lot.

I wish I went to Lester's sooner. I'm a real fan of Diners and this is one of the best! They have real pies, Southern (charm) service and almost anything you could want on a menu. I had a tuna melt with cheddar cheese on the bread, a pickle, and coslaw. We then ordered cherry pie a la model and a black and white cookie. My only complaint was that the pie wasn't warmed up, and the cookie had the hard royal icing and not the soft one. Other than that the food was SO GOOD and it was a fun environment.

This is a classic looking diner that even has counter service. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs, an English muffin, and country potatoes. The boyfriend got a waffle sandwich that was essentially filled with a cheese, egg, and meat omelet. Both were delicious. The service was great. The only real complaint is that the coffee was just meh. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping

I had relatives visiting from out of the country and I wanted them to have a diner experience. It's been a while since I've been to this location and I was impressed. The interior has been renovated and it was clean. It took a little for our server to come to our table after we were seated. We were thinking that this wasn't going to be a good experience but she showed up a few minutes later and thankfully, we didn't have any issues during our visit. I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on croissant. The croissant looked almost too pretty to eat (you can't tell from my picture). My husband and cousin ordered the Lester's 2-2-2. My other cousin ordered the Western Omelet. They were amazed at the portion sizes. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server and other servers periodically walked by while we were eating, asking if we wanted a refill of coffee. Loved that! Now that we know how nice it is in here, we won't hesitate to come back!

Lester's Diner is EVERYONE'S treasured 3am hotspot from back in the day where we used to congregate after all the bars shut down. I haven't been since 2009 when Sea Monster had it's short lived reopening. 16 years later, we were down in the area and had to kill some time at 9am on a Sunday. Lester's Diner was the first place that came to mind. They were rightfully packed and breakfast is still delish. My friend went with the Gyro & Eggs and I went with the South of the Border Breakfast skillet -- both mouthwatering and still the spot to hit up. Top 10 of the SoFlo staples.

Our family went out to connect over the holiday season. I appreciated the diner vibe and it seemed that the place was popular- it was pretty full for a weekday morning. The server was personable, though I wished we had been checked on a little more. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good to me. I got the tuna melt as this is one of my favorite "nostalgia dishes," yet was completely underwhelmed. The tuna tasted as if it came straight from the can, no flavor or variety of ingredients added. My niece got a kids grilled cheese with fries, and her entire plate was cold (you could tell it had been sitting). The server took it to the back and brought it back the same way. We had to ask a third time for a fresh plate. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Rachael sandwich with French fries. And potato salad
    Seamonkeybutz S.

This used to be a good diner, but I guess that was a long time ago service and food quality was really lacking. I had a Rachael and the bread wasn't toasted. They use some kind of pasteurized cheese slice instead of squish, and most of the meat was grissel, they gave me water down south island ,no Russian. Might be quite some time before I come back, the server seemed like we were really bothering him just being here, you never once came and checked on us throughout the meal I had to get a refill on my beverage from another server.. My daughter had scrambled eggs with French toast and sausage links. She enjoyed the sausage links. The eggs were very dry. The French toast was cold and hard on arrival. And the place, was not that busy when we came in. At 3:00pm c'est la vie..

Saturday brunch yes why not! Came to help a friend with his house in the area and we were hungry. Pass by & here we are! Diner was packed which is a good sign right? Well let me just say food was good I had the chicken and waffles & my friend open turkey sandwich. We were pleased. I gave it a 3 stars cause our waitress was rude simple. I had to ask her to repeat herself and slowly, she was talking a mile a minute after that she left us & that was it till we were done. It's all good I didn't come to be served I came to eat & that's what it comes down to!

Lester's Diner on State Road 84 is a staple of Fort Lauderdale. Lester's originally opened in 1967 and it is a diner that is open twenty-four hours a day. They give you large portions and their prices are reasonable. The food is always good and they do their own baking on premises. It has been quite a while since I have been to Lester's. When I was on the 11-7 shift for Fort Lauderdale PD, I got to visit quite regularly. It is their quality that makes Lester's a Fort Lauderdale staple.

I work nearby, so I just strolled in during my lunch break for a little midday pick-me-up. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion is to perhaps have an allergens list for the individual baked goods. I tried to ask the staff about whether some of the treats contained nuts (in particular, the s'mores bar, and the chocolate chip cookie) as I have a peanut allergy (tree nuts are okay). There was a bit of a language barrier and the staff seemed unsure, and tried to err on the side of caution (which I appreciate). However, knowing that a s'mores bar or a chocolate chip cookie is unlikely to contain actual peanuts, I was a little frustrated because it would have been okay for me personally if it was simply that the baked goods were "processed in a factory that manufactures peanut products". Those trace amounts normally don't affect me. I feel like this was likely the case, but again, I'm glad that they just proceeded with an abundance of caution. I settled for a cheese danish even though I was really after a chocolate craving. Good on the staff for being cautious, disappointing for me that I couldn't cater to my chocolate craving. Oh well. I also ordered a Get Green smoothie, which was refreshing and delicious. The coconut water makes it super hydrating. Whether you're staying at the Del Mar hotel or just work nearby and want a little treat, this spot is a great place to stop in.

It was my first time here, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The lighting was dim, the vibe was just right, and I instantly felt like I was among my people. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be hard to find a healthy cafe where you actually have plenty of options. Even though the place is currently under renovation, it didn't take away from the atmosphere at all. While ordering my beet based juice (I think it was called "Something Stiletto"), I noticed a cozy sofa that felt like home, so I grabbed a seat while my partner placed the order. My drink was a fresh pressed blend of kale, beets, cucumber, carrot, banana, apple, and lemon!! All vegan and it was absolutely delicious and filling. The price was reasonable too, which made it even better. My partner ordered tea, and we noticed they offer a wide variety of food options, from a hot station to pre made sandwiches. One thing I didn't like, though, was seeing a staff member return food (like broccoli and macaroni and cheese) back into the serving area after it appeared to have been part of someone else's order. That didn't sit right with me. As a vegetarian, cross contamination is already something I'm mindful of and beyond that, it raises concerns about food safety and allergies. Because of that, I'll likely avoid that section in the future. That aside, we ended up staying longer than expected because the space was so comfortable. People were working on laptops, having lunch, and just doing their own thing. It had a really relaxed, welcoming energy. The place was clean and organized, and while the staff seemed busy (so I didn't really experience much direct service), it wasn't an issue. Overall, I'll definitely be back.
