Cute little place in the heart of downtown. Went for a quick bite before we caught a flight home. We got in around 7:30 on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves. The coffee and food were amazing, and the hash browns are prepared in a way I've never seen before. They were incredible. Waitstaff were really nice too. Sunday after church brunch? Say less! Decided to grab a bite after church with a friend. This place was close by. Haven't been back in about two years so I was overdue. Unfortunately it rained all Sunday. I thought that would deter others but I was wrong. The reservation line was long! After waiting about 25 mins, we were seated in their covered patio. The rain was hard and you could definitely hear it! The wait staff was very attentive which was great. I had the egg scramble with a side of grits. The grits were $5 and the bowl was the size of my palm. Don't think I'll order that again. The bread and the jam was amazing! We stopped by recently and were really looking forward to trying this place. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving after waiting about 10 minutes at the hostess stand without being greeted or acknowledged. It was a nice crowd and the atmosphere seemed lively, but it didn't appear so busy that someone couldn't at least come over and say, "Hi, we'll be with you in just a moment." Even a quick acknowledgment would have made a big difference. We completely understand that restaurants can get hectic, and we're always happy to be patient, but not being acknowledged at all made us feel a bit overlooked. What a quaint, upscale breakfast cafe! There were so many delicious breakfast options. I chose the overnight oats, a side of bacon, and an iced coffee. The oats were very filling, and I was grateful the waiter informed me they were served cold. The outdoor patio was very pleasant, with hanging plants and cute seating. Took the drive to Java and Jam as it's been a while and wanted to have a bite in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It was cold outside so outdoor seating was a nice treat especially in south florida. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich and it was delicious! The side of hash browns and the flavor of the biscuit made this the breakfast meal I was hoping to have! Just what you hope to have for brunch. So here is the bad part, my server was not very friendly. I felt like my presence was a bother and like she did not want to be at work that day. We were not difficult guests, we ordered fast, we enjoyed our food and left and are easy to serve but for this reason I had to give this place a big knock. Servers make or break a business and while I loved the food, the treatment is enough to not come back. I was in the area so I decided to stop by. On this particular day, a lot of people were standing in line to be seated. It seemed like the hostess was missing for a good while I opted to place the order to go. I ordered an egg scramble, it came with eggs, potatoes, pico de gallo I added cheese and avocado. It was delicious everything paired well it's definitely something that I would eat again. I just didn't like the biscuit. I should've just stuck with the toast. I had been looking online at this restaurant for a while. The family was off from work and school today, so we figured to pop in for breakfast. The steak and eggs were great, cooked very well. The cheese grits were amazing. The omelette was good, my only suggestion would be to use real eggs instead of egg beaters. The French toast was super filling so we had to take half home. We came on a Sunday and it was definitely busy, so I recommend joining the waitlist if you're short on time or simply hungry and don't want to wait 40 minutes to an hour. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes , they were delicious and cooked perfectly. For my drink, I had the hot churro latte with oat milk. They use Wells Coffee. I'm not a huge fan of Wells personally. It has a more bitter profile and doesn't give the rich, smooth flavor I prefer, but it was still okay overall. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. After a killer workout, my friends and I were starving and looking for a spot to grab lunch and cowork. We decided on Java and Jam because it was close by and had a varied menu that would satisfy anyone's craving regardless of it it was breakfast or lunch. My friend and I couldn't decide what to get so we got the turkey club and chicken bowl and went halfsies. I loooved the club sando and the chicken bowl was good too. Visited Java and Jam after getting off a cruise and having the worst meals for 3 days. I would definitely recommend Java and Jam! I had the American Omelet, and it was pretty good. My only complaint is the toppings were placed inside the egg versus being mixed and cooked into the egg. The coffee is GREAT! I had like 4 cups. It was disappointing but it took so incredibly long to come I didn't want to send it back and wait for another. Excellent newish brunch spot on a rapidly built up stretch of Las Olas near Andrews. Service was great and food was good 5 star ambience: for the first floor of a modern building they have given some old world charm with decoration and lighting. It's bustling but not loud 5 star service: staffers here are uniformly friendly and efficient. The front desk directed us to the counter to avoid a long wait and the server was sweet and funny 4 star food: my spinach salad was terrific.
