Came here for brunch, and our entire group truly enjoyed our meals. Not a single person had a complaint, and we all agreed we'd come back if we had more time in the area. The line was insanely long, but we got lucky and snagged seats at the bar as soon as a group left. I ordered the applewood bacon with poached eggs, and it was a solid 10/10--very filling, packed with flavor, and beautifully presented. My friends ordered the hash and omelet, and we also shared the dulce de leche pancakes. Everything was delicious. The beautiful waterfront views made the experience even better. Great breakfast spot. It's situated in the Westin hotel and has great ocean views. They have indoor and outdoor seating. As titanium Marriott bonvoy members, we received a breakfast voucher each morning of our stay, which is good for your choice of coffee or orange juice and an entree from a select menu (see pics). I found the select menu to have many great options. I had the "smothered burrito" which was huge and delicious and did not have any beans. The "traditional eggs Benedict" was typical and came with a large portion of their potatoes- yum. The "huevos rancheros" was great too but I wished it had those potatoes. My husband had the "applewood bacon and poached egg avocado toast" twice because it was so good. We ordered two additional eggs sunny to go with it, as that dish only had one poached egg. He also got the "two eggs your way" which comes with choice of protein, potatoes and two slices of sourdough toast w butter (no jam). He ordered bacon egg and cheese taco with that dish to maximize his protein intake. That was tasty. Everything we ate here was a good portion. I saw the regular menu. Dishes are about $16. The pancakes looked awesome- maybe we will get that next time. Pancakes would pair well with the hash- it looks like a huge dish. They have a breakfast cocktail menu. I had the bloody Maria (nothing special but it said house made bloody mix so I wanted to try it), which came with a celery stick. I think next time I'll do the coffee inspired cocktails. Those sound amazing. We ate inside because the wind was crazy like 25mph. We ate outside one day, when the wind wasn't as bad, and found that there are some pesky birds trying to steal food off of server trays. So if you don't want the birds, sit inside. The place gets busy; you can make a reservation. We never had to wait in line long or wait for a table, but I think that's because we're hotel guests. Once sat, we did wait more than 20 min to receive our food. But it's ok. The coffee is good. The restaurant turns into Lona for lunch and dinner. They give you the Lona drink menu for breakfast too if you're more in the mood for a margarita. Bar seating is first come first served. Bathrooms are inside the hotel lobby. There is no parking for the restaurant but you can valet. read more

I had really high hopes for this breakfast visit due to the great rating this restaurant has but my experience fell short. My order consisted of the Machaca Skillet and a side of Papas Racheras (potatoes). The positives were, a) the portion size (massive amount of food) and b) the great flavor of the Machaca (shredded beef with onions, bell pepper & tomato. Now the negatives, a) the 3 poached eggs were all over-cooked/hard yolks, b) the side of potatoes were cold and had an unappealing texture. I'm not positive but I have a feeling they were left over from the day before because I arrived at 7am which is when this restaurant opens so if they made the potatoes fresh they couldn't have been this bad and c) after the waiter took my order and never saw him again until I was ready for the bill. He never checked in on me which is a shame because I had pierced all 3 eggs to show him the hard yolks and ate very slowly so the proof would be on the plate when he checked on me but alas, he never showed. If I lived in the area I may give them another try because of the potential with this dish. read more

Had breakfast here with the family on a Monday. The service was ok, but there seemed to be some confusion with the servers and the hostesses changing up the table orders when we arrived. The food was average but good. My husband ordered the avocado toast and the poached egg came broken already and it wasn't enough to fill him up. I ordered the breakfast burrito and subbed bacon instead of the chorizo. The burrito is a large enough meal - I was only able to eat half of it. The kids had chocolate chip pancakes- it comes with two large ones ($8) which could be split easily with smaller kids. Um, yum! For a last-minute breakfast stop-- chosen more for it's convenience than anything else--this was a score! The food was delicious and the pricing surprisingly affordable! I had the huevos rancheros, and it was so good! The sauce knocked was the star but every layer had flavor, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Stunning views with equally impressive food. What more could you ask for?! My small group and I just flew into town on a super early morning redeye, and we were looking for a brunch spot. Since it was our first time in town, we were seeking something that allowed us to soak in the amazing local scenery, and of course, provide exceptional fare. Using this here invaluable app, I was able to whittle it down to a few options, but with a majestic beachfront setting, and appetizing food offerings, we were sold on Tinta! Upon first arrival, we noticed that it is attached to the Westin Hotel, so although a bit touristy in that regard, since we were new to the area ourselves, we didn't mind one bit. We were initially seated in a table away from the view, but what's the fun in that? Fortunately, we were able to easily switch. And what a view it was! You can't beat a lovely SoFla morning with clear skies and white sand beaches. Everything on the menu honestly sounds quite droolworthy, and pricing isn't outrageous in the least, despite being in a fancy touristy area hotel. The first thing that caught my eye was the Carnitas Hash, which was reasonably priced at $17. Think of it as something similar to Corned Beef Hash, but with Carnitas.  What I wasn't expecting though was the absolutely GARGANTUAN portion that would easily have cost in the mid 20s or higher in most other establishments. Anyone who knows me knows that I could give Kobayashi a run for his money, and even I could barely finish this! And to top it off, the taste was absolutely incredible! The rest of my posse ordered a variety of of things, such as Quesadilla （$13）, Avocado Toast （$11-17）, etc., and they all loved it as much as I enjoyed mine, and of course the portions were equally massive. To wash down my Carnitas Hash, I also imbibed in some Iced Flat White, and this too was plenty delectable. In addition, while specialized coffee has a small fee, regular is free of charge! As mentioned, it was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale, and Tinta certainly gave an inspiring first impression. In some ways, Ft. Lauderdale actually reminds me of Huntington Beach a bit closer to home. In the near future, I certainly hope to make more frequent trips to SoFla, and Tinta will undoubtedly be a part of the itinerary. read more

Visiting from TN and my friend & I stopped in here on a Sunday morning at about 10:30am before we headed back home. We were sat on the patios right away. We had a perfect view of the water- it was gorgeous. I ordered the hash & she ordered the quesadilla. We loved both of them & they were both good size portions. We both ordered a soda. The hash was $18 and soda $3- seemed like good price/value. Our server didn't come for a few minutes, a little longer than typical but when she did she was friendly and helpful. We asked for waters & they were brought with our sodas. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is due to the bit of extended wait to be greeted by our server, the fact that we weren't brought water within a few minutes & that we thought they could maybe put up some fans or do something to help with the heat on the patio. We loved our view so it's a bit hard but it was about 90 & end of May so I know it will get even hotter so we were just thinking maybe they could have some fans above or fans that mist water to help with still being able to enjoy gorgeous view but not be uncomfortably hot. Tinta is located in the Westin. Ft. Lauderdale Beach, and breakfast at Tinta is part of the perk of being a Bonvoy Platinum Elite member. There was a line at the hostess stand for hotel guests/reservations and walk-ins, and it was busy. The hostess was alternating between the lines, so what was even the point of having two lines?!?! When we finally got seated and said we were okay with an inside table, we got stuck into an area that appeared to be an afterthought where no server appeared for while. I understand that it's busy, but have someone stop by to at least acknowledge that you are there. And then just because I had a breakfast voucher being an elite hotel member doesn't mean that I wouldn't be open to purchasing a extras, such as a breakfast cocktail or other breakfast items, but they never even gave us the menus so their loss on the extra revenue and tips. The service was slow because they were so busy. However, the food was decent, and we'll probably do it all over again because of the vouchers. Otherwise, I'd look for an alternative breakfast spot. read more

If you want good Mexican breakfast, great service, and interesting but unpretentious drinks, I highly recommend Tinta. I had steak and eggs. I asked her to make the skirt well done, and she didn't give me any bad looks like some places . I don't eat all steaks well done, but skirt steak medium is crazy to me! As a kid in Mexico we never had carne asada medium. Skirt steak is fatty and meant to be cooked imo. I digress! Service was friendly and fun. Exactly what you want at a beachside Latin bar. People were drinking, eating, and being happy. Great view of the beach. The vibe is as you'd expect from a Latin place. Festive is the right word. Not a big loud party. But properly upbeat and friendly. Coffee was good. Steak was delicious and healthy way to start the day. They also have an expansive buffet for $40. It's probably better I didn't know about that because I'd have gone to town. But, I do think it was a miss by the server or hostess not to mention it. I found out after eating by overhearing. But, lowkey I'm glad I didn't know! Trying to be somewhat healthy. I definitely had a good breakfast at Tinta and would recommend it. I plan to go back at least one or two times. Also, my experience at Tinta made me want to try Lona in the same establishment, which I did for dinner later that night. I will review that separately. Within walking distance of our hotel, this spot was an easy and pleasant find. We went to the host stand and were seated within just a few moments at a table for two with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. Our waiter was fun, professional, and genuinely happy, which set a great tone for the meal. My husband ordered a chelada with tequila, and I had a Bloody Mary with tequila--both drinks were perfectly made and arrived quickly while our food was being prepared. The short wait didn't bother us at all, as we enjoyed people-watching, the ocean view, and birds that kept our attention. I ordered the tequila salmon avocado sandwich with a yogurt and berry side, and my husband chose the breakfast quesadilla. The food came out hot, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. Everything was very palatable and thoroughly enjoyable. We both used the restroom, which turned into a bit of an adventure since it's located through the Westin hotel lobby. However, the signage was clear, making it easy to find. The facilities were clean, well-marked, and we had no issues getting in and out. We were so excited to have breakfast here but we're very disappointed. The pancakes were meh, I did not try but Mr , who only always orders pancakes wherever he goes, said they were too chewy. Probably the only time he did not finish his plate!! My burrito seemed like a bad mish mash of everything. Great food, service, and view! My small group visited on a weekday over the summer. There was plenty of street parking available behind the building. However, it filled up quickly closer to lunch time. Despite the heat, we sat outside facing the beach. The shade in the patio definitely makes the weather bearable. Tinta is the breakfast location for the beachfront Westin, later in the day it becomes Lona Cocina but uses the same facilities. We enjoyed a wonderful (and huge) breakfast on the beach with pancakes and mimosas. Our waitstaff was excellent, especially Nelson who was super friendly and took great care of us.
