Now, the service was something less than desired and that's EXTREMELY irritating considering the gratuity is AUTOMATICALLY added to your bill. You're forced to pay for poor service, and in this case service the curly-haired young man, was very poor. I asked for my coffee to be EXTRA hot, it came out lukewarm, and that's bc it sat on the counter waiting for our server to bring it to us. He was no where to be found to voice my concern. We had to ask for several things a few times, and we never received refills on water. I asked to keep a menu to order an extra drink or cocktail but was never able to bc the server was no where to be found! He never came by to ask how we were, but he spent at least 7 minutes chitchatting with the table behind us stating how he "remembers them", and will try to "remember your orders for next time bc you come here a lot". Imagine if he offered services like that to ALL the guest? Well, enough was enough, and I was ready to leave. Guess who appeared with the bill and WOULD NOT LEAVE OUR TABLE-SIDE bc he was seriously focused on the amount of the "extra" tip my Hubby was going to leave. Upon arrival to the establishment you immediately smell urine walking up to the front door. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to be seated we were advised that our table is being cleaned and we will be seated in a designated area. Five minutes go by and we see an entirely different party being seated in the seats that we were advised were for my party. Staffers apologized and seated us right away in another area, cool beans no problem. While waiting for the waiter it took almost 10min for us to be acknowledged. Once acknowledged we were provided waters for the tables. The waiter then goes missing for another 10-15mins. He's walking around as if he doesn't have a clue what's going on (big black guy, did not get his name). We finally order our food and it takes an additional 45-50min to get our food. When everyone's food came out my food was totally forgotten about and the waiter asked "did I get my food?", clearly not dude. When my food finally arrived I clearly lost my appetite with all that went on and the way my Benedict was slipped together I could have fed it to a group of pigs. Safe to say my experience was a nightmare here and I will never return nor anyone that I know. Nice concept but it's located in a terrible location. Everything is yellow, whit, and orange. The ambience is bright and awakening. The hosts great you as soon as you enter. Today we selected the Avocado Toast and the Charleston Benedict. Delicious in every way. Their coffee is a special grind from Pumphouse Coffee Roasters, a Florida company. It's rich and complex. I like strong coffee and it was. Are you a hot sauce nut? Be sure and ask for their full compliment of signature hot sauces. Hot Habanero, Medium Sriracha, and Mild Serrano. I tried all three and they pass my pallet test with flying colors. I love sitting at a bar to eat - and yes, they have a bar you can sit at for your meal. Viniece was my server/bartender and she was friendly, attentive and very pleasant. Like free parking in a busy, hip neighborhood? Hatch validates your parking from the Quantum Garage. Free three hour parking from across the street. I will mention one note they can improve on. The placards located on the bar and tables are pretty grimy with food stains and finger smudges. Stopped in for breakfast after our cruise, and I'm so happy we did! The restaurant was bright and clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Our server Kat was super sweet and attentive. She went over the menu and gave us recommendations off the menu since it was our first time visiting. My son went with the NY style breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun and I got the That's a Gouda Benedict which came on a crossaint. We both really enjoyed our meals. I've been to Hatch in Fort Lauderdale a few times, and normally I really enjoy it--the food is genuinely great, and I usually have an amazing experience. Unfortunately, our visit on New Year's Day was a completely different story. I understand that Hatch doesn't take reservations and that waiting is part of the deal, especially on a holiday. That said, honesty about wait times matters. We put our name down and were told 30 minutes, which turned into an hour and 15 minutes before we were seated. They were handing out hot chocolate to keep people happy, which was a nice gesture, but I would have much preferred transparency. If we'd known the real wait time, we would have had the option to go somewhere else. Once we finally sat down, things didn't improve. My friend received her meal in about 20 minutes, while I waited almost 40 minutes for mine. She had nearly finished eating before my food arrived. We had to flag down a random server just to figure out what was going on. Our waiter was inattentive and, from what we could tell, only had about three tables. By that point, I was ready to leave and not eat at all. It's disappointing because I know how good Hatch can be. I really hope this was just a rough holiday service day, but between the inaccurate wait time and the poor table service, this visit missed the mark. read more

From the decor to the food everything is well thought of. The corned beef was clearly not from a can but real chunks of corned beef with chunks of potatoes and it was so tasty as well as plenty in terms of portion. As I was leaving, the food came, it was not worth it and it was incorrect. So they were out of the speciality I think maybe fruity pebbles...instead of just saying that they let me wait and made attempt whatsoever to offer an alternative. Normally, the way my lack of patience and never ending time constraints are set up, I could never give them the amount of time I did, but I did, and I regret it. That's on me.
