I love a dimly lit Speakeasy with its air of mystery and vintage vibe. I had this one bookmarked forever and finally found myself on Las Olas on the Saturday night before St. Patrick's Day. This was the night to check it out. You can get a code for the outside door from a bartender or Instagram but it is really much easier to get in. Just look for the red door behind the black wrought gate inside of Vinos Wine Bar and Cocktail Lounge. There is a birdhouse above the door and a sign next to it announcing that this is Sidecar. This is actually Sidecar II named in honor of owners Clayton and Valery Chelley's other bar, the Hotsy-Totsy Bar & Grill and Sidecar Speakeasy in Hollywood, Fl. The intimate space here will hold maybe 20 people. There are seats at the bar and a few tables along the walls. I lucked out that it wasn't too busy when I came and I was able to find a seat at the bar where a menu was already waiting for me. Cocktails run from $16 to $20. If you come during the week day happy hour you can get a dollar off. I chatted with mixologist Patrick and asked him to create a custom cocktail for me. He asked me what liquor I wanted and what I liked and didn't like. I chose rum with pineapple and coconut. He started with a locally sourced rum and added passion fruit and mint. It was exactly how I like my craft cocktails, strong and fruity. I don't know the exact recipe but they need to add this menu and call it the Ariel, LOL. I am glad I came in when it was less busy because right after that it was slammed and Patrick was off to the races. They actually had to stop letting people in. This is the kind of sophisticated place that people like to stop at before heading to one of the restaurants on Las Olas or to grab a nightcap before heading home. Having a cocktail created especially for me really elevated my experience.

Let me start by saying this place is special. You walk in through a wine bar to find a hidden tiny dim lit speakeasy. It's charming and transports you to another time and place. Rafa was everything you would hope for in a mixologist. We ordered from the menu for our 1st round but after chatting with Rafa we put ourselves in his hands for the 2nd round and he didn't disappoint. Everything was complex and balanced. Rafa's very knowledgable and attentive and we sat and talked for hours about cocktails. This is a must stop if you're into craft cocktails at their finest

Super cool speakeasy tucked away in Ft. Lauderdale. I guess it would have been cool if you actually had to find/use the code rather than just go through the wine bar, but whatevs. The place is a WHOLE vibe, though. Loved the intimate setting. Great selection of very well-crafted cocktails as well. Our bartender (can I call them that, are they called something else at such an establishment? Is this a micro-aggression?) was seemingly a little annoyed with my group off rip, though. And wasn't the friendliest. Otherwise, a dope little spot.

I had a friend visiting from out of town who loves speakeasies. So I was thrilled to discover that Sidecar Speakeasy was open on a Monday night. A 1920s Prohibition Style Bar hidden in the back of Vinos on Las Olas, Sidecar Speakeasy is known for their signature cocktails, intimate ambiance, as well as its great music and vibes. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by our mixologist, Patrick. He was a one man band: taking orders, creating drinks, and serving them. You could tell Patrick was passionate about his craft. He knew every drink on the menu as him and his fellow mixologists created the selections. However, he could make anything. Just give him an alcohol and a flavor profile. It was like he was a walking spirits encyclopedia. Everything Patrick made tasted balanced and delicious. I was impressed because you don't often see this kind of dedication anymore. Sidecar Speakeasy has limited seating and tends to fill up quickly, so try to get there on the earlier side. There is a paid parking lot behind the restaurant, and a dress code is in effect. Therefore, leave your beachwear at home!

This place is great! Our experience here was top notch. The drinks were amazing. I had a classic dirty martini which was very good but then we decided to just let the bartender do what he does best. We told him the flavour profiles we liked and what liquor we typically drink and he came up with some amazing cocktails. The showmanship was spectacular as well. The vibe there is exactly how you would want a speakeasy to be. Felt really cool to be in there the whole time. Will be back!

I love the vibes here! It's also super easy to find. The bartenders are fantastic, and the special drinks look delicious! I wouldn't recommend the espresso martini, but they served a couple drinks I'm looking to try next time I'm back!

Very cozy little bar tucked away off the main strip. Like a speakeasy should be, it was a little hard at first to find as it's inside of another restaurant. There was a single bartender who did a very good job of tending to all of the patrons by making drinks and checking in on the tables. Def a great spot for a night cap with a small group

We love this place, we have been here a few times and taken a few friends. Great atmosphere, the drinks are truly well crafted and the mixologists are even great at making drinks upon request! They truly listen to what you like/dislike. Will keep recommending and coming here because it is one of the best speakeasy's we've been to! My favorite is the Queen of the Rodeo and my husband had a penicillin which was perfectly done

Small speakeasy in the back of a wine bar. They don't serve food but the restaurant does. So eat before or after coming. It's a fun place to stop by on your night out in las olas. We were there a few hours and people came in waves and then it died down. Drinks were really good. Since it's small the bartenders also have to act as waiters so be prepared to wait a bit if it's busy or just walk up to the bar. They were super nice either way.

Speak Easies are really fun. This one wasn't much of a secret though. When researching you need a code, but if you go in through the wine bar you don't. This place is tiny! It honestly seats 20-25 people if I had to guess. The bartender was alone and it was busy so service was slow. They were also out of some of the liquors that their specialty drinks were made from. Bummer. The drinks I did have were ok. The experience was neat, but I went to another speak easy in that area that was a lot better.

Maybe we got lucky with the timing, but dang, we really won out on our trip to Sidecar. We were down on Las Olas last night, a Wednesday with dinner plans. We had heard of sidecar from friends and decided to see if we could get in. We were going to call for the code but when we went into their sister establishment" Vinos on Las Olas", someone was walking out of the somewhat secret door to the place so we walked right in. We heard it was a tough spot to get a seat but we were blessed by the slow night. We had spots and menus right away. I got the "Law of the Jungle" rum specialty beverage. It was a tasty sweet drink. The place had cool vibes. It's small, which added to the hidden gem feeling. I did grab another drink that had Pango, a Haitian rum. That was plenty good as well. It was a short visit, we were gone within the hour, but it was long enough to know we wanna come back again.

An absolute gem! The bar is beautifully designed and hidden away, which made the experience of finding it really cool and exciting. The ambiance is just perfect for a night out. The highlight of my visit was definitely the bartender, who crafted some truly amazing drinks. Each cocktail was expertly made and full of flavor--clearly, they know what they're doing. I had a fantastic time here and will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a unique spot with great drinks and a classy vibe, Sidecar Speakeasy is a must-visit!

Cocktails "what every woman wants" and an espresso martini

The speakeasy itself is VERY SMALL this was probably a walk in from the bar/restaurant and turned into a speakeasy. We didn't have a code so we rang the bell no one showed nothing we stood there for about 5 min after digging and doing research when in thru the bar Nextdoor and asked she then showed me where to go thru . The place was empty . Just the bartender Patrick. Was trying to make talk asking about popular cocktails on the menu he said "espresso martini and vodka soda" what lol who recommends vodka soda the espresso martini was AMAZING prolly one of the best I've had. I went with "what every woman wants" on the menu it was okay wouldn't get it again tho. A couple came in sat beside us. Not at the bar. Literally they waited 10min to be served because the bartender never said like "lmk when you're ready " etc idk it is common sense ofc but you're working in this industry you don't have to ignore people . Also someone passed by thru the outside asked how to get in it was this little window in the hall way . Bartender looks over doesn't say anything completely ignores her and then she ask where the restroom is . He again looks at her and doesn't respond and so she leaves .. I didn't really understand his behavior to be completely honest with you but it wasn't pleasant. I will give this place another shot but not for now.

The ambiance of the place is lovely, decorated with string lighting that looks so gorgeous at night. The patio area is much bigger than I anticipated and even has some larger tables for any larger parties. We started off with an appetizer of the peach burrata, which was tasty! I would give it 4/5. We then got wine flights which I thought were such a great value for the price. You get 3 small sized wine glasses for $15 and get to sample three wines! Definitely recommend this 5/5. As entrees, we shared two entrees - the pesto pasta and the gnocchi which at the time was made with a pork type of sauce. Both were very delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors of both. The consistency of the gnocchi's sauce was a bit interesting, as it was all sort of blended together, but the flavor was very good! Would give them each 4/5. We ended the night with tiramisu - delicious and the presentation was very cute. I haven't had very much tiramisu to compare against, but I'll give it 5/5 as I really enjoyed it! Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months.
