Biscuits and Gravy
Julia P.

Everything you'd expect from a diner and more. Ample parking, plenty of seating & only of the only restaurants we ate that weekend to offer a high chair for our toddler. The food itself was amazing. I've only had Taylor pork rolls from NJ and this one brought me back, it was exceptional. I didn't try the biscuits and gravy but it was all good, classic, affordable dinner food. Service was quick and friendly.

Great local diner that we discovered for the first time for lunch. The chicken noodle soup was full of chunks of veggies and chicken. The chicken melt and reuben were delicious and not greasy. Have to come back for breakfast.

The Memphis Platter

Still one of my family's favorite breakfast spots. Even after it was sold, and sold again, now to the current owner, I love that the original vibe is still there. I feel the current owner, Kent, is definitely community oriented and enjoys what he does. The staff is great and work well as a team. The food is still consistently good, and has better waffles than most places according to my son. Definitely try the Memphis Platter, it's a popular dish!

Ruben omelet w/ rye toast is great. Service by Amber is attentive w/ the whole team pitching in when nearby. Special compliment to the owner: take home box is NOT PLASTIC ‼. The diner atmosphere includes nice music.

Corn beef hash, eggs, biscuit, and hash brown.

One of the best mom and pop restaurants in Pompano Beach with a staff that makes you feel at home. The Memphis has delicious corn beef hash, eggs, hash browns, and delicious home made biscuits. Just like Grandma use to make. The 60s dinner looks and feel is wonderful and takes you back to a carefree times. If you are in the area stop by.

Service was great such a cute throw back to the 50s loved all the options and they even have mimosas. Tried the Nelsons platter all was great but the gravy was a disappointment as it seemed to be canned rather than made fresh :(. I didn't eat that part but the wheat toast and the eggs were great. My bf had the chicken fried steak took the gravy off and did enjoy his too. Small place with lots of charm

Two for the money w grits no meat (near), three for the money w bacon (far)

Delicious. I've been twice for breakfast w my bf and it has not failed to feel and taste like a home cooked meal. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. It's a smallish place with outside seating,, it seems to get packed on weekend mornings. Fair prices, so you can tip the servers well...here has diverse family oriented laid back crowds, a nice alternative to other pricier breakfast spots.

My favorite diner in the area! The servers are caring, efficient, and delightful -- always checking in about any needs, from coffee to hot sauce. I always go for either the "Two for the Road" or the "Three to Get Ready," which include generously-sized pancakes of several varieties. The banana nut and seasonal pumpkin pecan pancakes are awesome, and I also appreciate the availability of both milk and flavored creamers for the coffee. The old-fashioned feel of the diner includes 50's Hollywood nostalgia (e.g., Elvis galore!) and a counter for those of us who tend to dine solo. I'm grateful to have Nelson's in my vicinity, as it's become a consistent and joyful part of my week.

Flat 3egg omelet, greasy hash browns, and a biscuit. Sad little breakfast

Not every local restaurant is great. This one baffles me that it's so busy. I guess these people have never had a decent omelet, but looking around, Noone was ordering omelets. I now know why. It was lackluster at best and wet. Cheddar cheese usually has a flavor. And so does ham. I couldn't tell. But the raw onions sure did. I've always had onions sautéed before. Best to ask next time. The hash browns, skip. Greasy. And my biscuit, nothing to write home about. So far, the most expensive omelet that McDonald's could have made better.

Lester's Diners are always offering up good food with plenty of selection no matter what time of…read morethe day you go there. It's perfect for if you're just craving a light bite or a full course meal. This Lester's was really not much different than the others. Nice servers, clean restaurant and a menu full of options for even the pickiest eaters. I decided on the spinach and feta omelette and I can say that I really enjoyed this. It was loaded with fresh spinach and feta cheese. I decided to try grits for my side since I usually get the home fries at Lester's and although they were good I'd say they definitely needed a pinch of salt since grits don't have a lot of flavor to begin with. The friend I was with got a waffle sandwich that had eggs, cheese and breakfast meats on it. I tasted it and it was very good. Make sure to check the hours of the Lester's Diner ( locations in Fort Lauderdale, Margate, Pompano and Margate) you're wanting to dine in since they all have different hours of operation.

We ordered the shrimp scampi, chicken piccata, a Reuben, a house salad, and their key lime pie, and all of it was really good. The scampi and the piccata were honestly some of the best we've had, and both the shrimp and the chicken were cooked perfectly. The key lime pie was smooth and refreshing and a great way to finish the meal. Portions were generous and nothing tasted frozen or pre-made like you sometimes expect at diners. Service was friendly and quick, and the place has that classic diner feel but with way more variety on the menu than usual. Definitely one of those spots where everyone can find something they want. Would absolutely go back, especially to try more of the Italian and Greek dishes.

Our favorites were the catch of the day shrimp, Cajun fries, Korean barbecue meatballs and Philly cheesesteak. The garlic parm fries were decent and we didn't care for the steak pieces. 10/10 would recommend overall.

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!
