Someone I know has been raving about their salmon and grits. So I decided to make a drive over. The lady at the register was friendly. I placed the order for the salmon and grits and a biscuit and took it to go. Looking around the restaurant it looks very clean. Wasn't very busy for a Saturday morning. So for the salmon and grits, it comes with eggs I opted for egg whites. When I tell you this meal did not need any extra salt in it. The grits were salted not to the point where it was inedible, but to the point where it could use less. The portion was decent and the price felt reasonable as well. We came for lunch on a rainy afternoon. There's a parking lot to the west of the building. There was only one other table occupied inside when we came; however, there were a number of folks waiting for their takeout orders. We grabbed a menu and chose a seat to look it over. We were warmly greeted. We ordered and received our drinks right away. My husband got their shrimp grits bowl (from the breakfast side of the menu). You can actually order breakfast all day. He got the shrimp grilled, but you can also choose them fried. He said they were medium sized and perfectly cooked. He said the grits were very good. He likes them on the soft side. He was very happy with his meal choice. I got their snapper fish sandwich. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and tartar sauce on the bun. I got everything added except for the onion. There were 3 large fried lightly breaded filets of white fish. I had two pieces within the bun and one separately. It was very good. I could have chosen the fish grilled if I'd preferred. They also have half a dozen lunch specials that include a side and a drink. They have wings, burgers, steaks, and pork chops but with "seafood" in their name, we figured we'd try that first. We are so glad that we came to try them. It's nice to support a local business -- especially in this newly gentrified section of town. I am usually not the person that listens to influencers. However, we frequent the Pompano Beach area and I wanted some different spots to dine. So I listened to this one who had rave reviews about this place. I wanted to like it. I didn't though. At the entrance there were people sitting by the door so we thought there was a wait. They may have been waiting on food to go. Them leaving us standing there made us wonder. When finally greeted we were given menus. We asked if we order at the counter or table. She said it didn't matter. So we took a seat. The menu seemed pretty standard. Breakfast on one side lunch on the other. We said we wanted lunch and there seemed to be a problem. They we out of most of the sides. I ended up with fries and a side salad with what they called catfish. But I know it was swai. Catfish curls and has a different texture. I absolutely know the difference. My husband felt really frustrated having to ask for everything thing more than once from the younger employees and having the older lady come apologize only to do the same. The fries were hot and crisp and the shrimp my husband had were good. It was just not the best experience. They were always sitting line you were not waiting on them to bring you something. My husband asked for a refill on his sweet tea. The cup was taken. No one brought it back. read more

Bojo's Seafood is a Black-owned breakfast staple located in an increasingly gentrified area of Pompano. We learned about it recently while watching "Check Please!" on PBS and realized it was right around the corner from us. My cousin and I went to Bojo's on a Saturday afternoon. From the time we entered until the moment we left, Demetrius was an amazing host. He got our order correct on the first go, and even offered up menu suggestions that he felt we'd enjoy. We ended up dining in, and our food came out in a timely manner. I had the fried snapper which was AMAZINGLY crispy and golden. It's honestly the best fried snapper I've had in a while. And for $21 plus sides and a drink I feel it was a good deal. My cousin had snapper as well, but opted for grilled with mixed veggies. They were fresh and grilled perfectly as well. After all was said and done we walked out full, happy and with money left for ice cream later on! Thank you Demetrius and Bojo's staff for the awesome lunch. I've been there a few times. I try to support black owned businesses. But sometimes they make it difficult. My sister went there today to buy us breakfast to go. She dropped her drinks because the cup holders were flimsy. She goes back in to get more but they made her pay for them. Customers were shocked to know they made her pay again. One customer advised her to check her receipt if she was using her credit card. Low and behold they charge a $10 fee to use your credit card. Why would any business charge $10 to use your credit card. This is highway robbery. It will be a long long long long time before I go back there. read more

We were only in town for a few days so the only time we could check this place out was on the Fourth of July. We arrived at 11:00am and they were closing at noon. The only thing you could order that day was breakfast. We decided on red snapper and grits with a side of eggs and it took just about 45 minutes to get our food which is why I took a star off. The other thing that bothered me is how they cut the fish. It was fried and seasoned really well but one part of it was nothing but the skin and back bone. It looked like you were getting a few nice pieces of fish but that was a scam. The food was good and I would like to try something else again when we visit the area in the future. read more

What can I say? Well to begin with, Bojos is hands down one of the best restaurants in the area, from breakfast, to Lunch and all the way on down to dinner! The staff is for the most part always respectful and the place is always clean. However I did call in a order over the phone about 5 months back and the young lady who answered the phone was very rude and unprofessional. When I asked for a total she rudely sucked her teeth and told me "um you gotta hold on so I can get it for you" she returns momentarily gives me my total and hangs up dead in my face. I was there for breakfast on yesterday we walked in seated ourselves we sat there for about 5 minutes then the young lady that was there bought drinks then she left never came back I had to get up and finally after waiting 25 more minutes come ask the other young lady that was there to take our order so that was 30 minutes then finally we get our food 25 minutes later my sister tea was cold that was the worst service I ever got they had another young lady working there was great she was talkative when you walk in the door she's would let you know your server will be right with you she would give us our drinks and silverware and take our order for the server but yesterday she wasn't there. It was just terrible they need to get het to be there everyday because the two that were there was not it. They didn't even come back to the table and ask if we wanted refills no silverware no nothing only about my breakfast was good was the fish my grits was watery and my eggs were fried hard.
