This is a unique find in Fort Lauderdale. As soon as you enter you feel a welcoming atmosphere as if you're visiting a friend for a home cooked meal. I had the Ceviche Aji Amarillo and 1/2 rotisserie chicken with Chaufa (fried rice) and black beans. Both dishes were well made and seasoned. Portions were generous and could be stand alone dishes, but I was pretty hungry so decided to go big! Below Ceviche: Delicious! Fish was very fresh and condiments perfectly complimented. A bit heavy on the lime, but otherwise a great start to the meal! Rotisserie Chicken combo: Don't sleep on the rotisserie chicken! Skin was crispy, inside was juicy. I think it's worth to go with the Chaufa rice over regular because it compliments the meat so well. Overall: Great service, great food, great atmosphere. I have eaten there many times and it used to be very good. I don't know what's changed lately, but the quality control is definitely off much less Peruvian spices on the chicken so it was tasting a little bland last couple of times and this most recent takeout order I had was atrocious. I called and order a whole chicken to go so I could invite three friends for dinner and I specifically requested crispy fries because they normally send fries that are very undercooked and pale white when you get them home I picked up my order and when I got home, the chicken was so dried out and felt like it had been sitting on a counter or fallen behind the oven for a few hours, it was rock hard and completely dried out to make matters worse when I called the store back to complain the minute I opened the box the store phone number was busy and not accepting calls for about 1520 minutes so I was forced to drive back to the store after I already made it home. I went into the store and I spoke to the lady and complained about how they could possibly send food like this out of their kitchen. The insult to injury was when I picked up the order to begin with the lady at the counter made a big deal of me asking for sauces for three people instead of one. She was telling her that she might have to charge extra for three persons worth worth of sauces when I'm ordering an entire chicken to go. I think it's hilarious that they're worried about $.15 worth of sauces on a family meal to go when in reality they're sending home these completely dried out chickens that were completely inedible horrible experience and I will not be going back to Cavanna 28 very sad I used to like Peruvian chicken a lot now I have to find a new home for that. read more

Wow. Just wow. I got a chicken wrap and it was majestic. I had to close my eyes to savor the taste but my wrap dissapeared in a span of minutes. I tried the rice also and it was holy. This is my go-to spot every time I don't have food in the office, I've never gotten tired of my order: 1/2 chicken dark with fries/yucca and plantains. Their green sauce is out of this world!! Wish I had the recipes for everything! Layla is extremely welcoming and she develops a relationship with anyone who walks through the door, I absolutely love her hospitality. Solid newish Peruvian casual dining near the movie theater in Cypress Creek shopping center 4 star ambience: the space has gone through a couple of different concept restaurants with the same layout, but new paint and brighter colors make a big difference. The only complaint was it was a bit loud with the staff talking at maximum volume. 4 star service: service was good. You order at the counter but then food comes to your table. It seemed mostly geared toward takeout. 4 star food: chicken sandwich was good but expensive. One suggestion is definitely by translate the overhead menu. We had lunch here the other day. It's located between a Greek restaurant and a Five Guys in the Cypress Creek Station on the west side of North Andrews Avenue. The location has been several different places over the years. This is a Peruvian casual restaurant now. They have a couple reasonable lunch specials -- although the menu at first appears a bit pricey. Just take the time to look it over. I had their quarter chicken lunch special ($11.95) which included a quarter chicken, white rice, beans, sweet plantains, and a soda. I paid fifty cents extra to have my meal upgraded to "white meat". Everything was perfectly cooked including the breast/wing combo through and through. The only thing I would have liked better would have been a crispier skin on the outside of the chicken. The chicken itself was fairly plain without much seasoning. The rice was very good, the black beans okay, and the plantains sweetly delicious. The sauces served with the meal are important as they give the dishes a bit of pizzazz and more flavor. There were four separate ones including ketchup, cilantro, and two different spicier ones (one yellow, one orange). They also gave us small container of pico de gallo. I used the cilantro the most along with a dash of the yellow pepper sauce to give a touch of heat. My husband got a beef bowl lunch special for his meal. In one bowl was layered white rice, black beans, and corn. On top were chunks of beef that had been grilled and lightly seasoned. He liberally added hot sauces (his choice) and said it was very good, although a lot of carbs. He enjoyed a maracuya (passion fruit) juice drink along with his lunch. I was very underwhelmed with the food. The ceviche was too sour and the corn was stale. Don't know when it was roasted, the oil went off completely. The only reason I gave 3 stars is that the Chica Morada was good and the staff was very nice. Oh, those sweet treats at the end - a plus for that. I have been to Peru and I'm not comparing the food in Florida anywhere near that authentic but still for a new restaurant, offering this doesn't make a good impression. The ambiance/interior design was a bit weird too. It was a hotch potch of fast food, diner and semi classy. But it didn't add up well. Too bad because after a movie at Regal, this could have been a nice sit down dine in place but unless they put more effort, I would pass. I love Peruvian food and will go again in a few months to give it another chance. But for now, I have my go to Peruvian places in the area. read more

We came in for lunch at this location that opened in space previously occupied by a couple of other restaurants in this busy strip center. The interior is bright and cheerful, and we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. A plus for me was that they were featuring Passion Fruit as one of the beverages! As we looked over the menu, we saw a lot of the traditional Peruvian dishes we were familiar with, and they offer Lunch Specials as well. I chose the Beef Bowl which was layered with fluffy white rice, a generous portion of black beans, and corn. On top were chunks of beef that had been grilled and lightly seasoned. They serve hot sauces on the side which help to wake up all of the flavors in the bowl. A satisfying and filling meal for $11.95, not including my Passion Fruit beverage. Simply disappointed we had ordered from this place on various occasions and woe we were served old food as it was hard to eat disgusting. We ordered a chicken bowl and Pollo a la Brasa with 2 sides and this was by far the oldest chicken ever even in the bowl the chicken tasted horrible dry burned from the reheat and dry like a carton, as well as the yellow plantain and soggy horrible looking caesar salad. Sad because the service is always friendly and the ambiance is a good vibe, but today there is nothing positive to say about the chicken only how can you serve food like that to paying customers. read more

Great new Peruvian place! Their speciality is rotisserie chicken, Pollo a la Brasa, but we had a bunch of different things. Ceviche clásico was great, a little spicy. I had the Chaufa Cabana which is a fried rice with beef and chicken. My sons had Salchipapa, hot dog slices and French fries, clean plate club. My wife and I love trying out new Peruvian restaurants and we drove down from Delray Beach to check out this new place. I will tell y'all that it was so good we didn't even wait to get home. We are eating in the car because we couldn't wait to devour it after taking a little bite. The ceviche and Leche de Tigre were outstanding. Came to check out this new spot. I grew up around peruvian food so it's one of my favorite cuisines. We ordered the papa la huancaina (I think that's how you spell it). It was very creamy and tasty. I love that the potatoes were served warm since some places don't do that. It could've been a little more spicy but I get that in order to cater to many tastes it needed to be mild. I had the lomo saltado as an entree and this too was very tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the fries were not mixed in with the sautée and served separately, but again that's a personal preference. Also, towards the end it felt a little salty but not too bad. Hubby ordered the chaufa and I tried a bit of that and this was delicious! For my drink I got chicha morada, which I was told was made in house and you can tell because it was very refreshing and delicious! We'll go back to keep testing out more food items. read more

There were 3 orders; ceviche which was just okay. A steak fried rice which was swimming in salt and soy sauce and a paella that had 1 shrimp, a few clams and overcooked rice that looked like oatmeal. I was walking around the plaza and I saw this new place I needed to try. I ordered the media porción de pollo con arroz chaufa y papas fritas. I also got the chica morada and it was incredible! They didn't just bring the food out extremely fast, but the taste and the temperature of the food was perfect. They even brought me a complementary causa, which was also amazing. I loved this restaurant. I came again a couple of days after and I ordered the chicken bowl, which was just as the good as the first meal I had there.
