I ordered a ceviche and lomo saltado. Pretty good. Also got a pisco sour and mojito. Not many people there so the service was very good. Nice open ambiance. Bathrooms really clean. Highly recommend, will be back!:)
Was in FLL a few weeks ago and decided to try Casa Playa on a whim as it was located near our hotel. My son and I decided to drop in for a lunch as the menu looked interesting. The location was excellent - just a block off the beach and the ambiance was a lovely chic casual. We were there as it opened and sat outside on the patio. The service was wonderful - attentive and friendly. The menu had multiple items of interest, but being a lunch visit we decided to try not to over order. We decided to split the ceviche and my son opted for the ropa vieja while I chose the paella. The ceviche was great! Bright, fresh and perfect for a Florida midday meal. I only wish I could recall which one we ordered As for the main dishes - we have a split experience. The ropa vieja was decent according to my son - but not on par with his experiences down in Miami. My paella left a bit to be desired - it was more of a simple rice dish. The flavors were fine, with the chorizo coming though without being overly heavy, but it was missing that crisp rice at the bottom of the pan that truly makes a good paella. This was more of a less creamy risotto So, in hindsight - Casa Playa seems to work for the Peruvian dishes, but perhaps is reaching a bit with the other Latin dishes. I will note that at bar area looked great and this would definitely be a hot spot for evening cocktails and enjoyment Would definitely go back to try more of the menu!

This was our first time here. It was nice because it was a little off the main road. We didn't had a reservation but were seated quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating; we chose outdoor. Service was friendly and helpful. We started with the grilled octopus and empanadas as appetizers, which were pretty good; there was mostly potatoes with only one piece of octopus for $19 tho and the empanadas weren't as crispy/flaky as I like. For our mains, my husband had the arroz marinero (paella), which he said was good. My daughter had the whole snapper, which she loved and devoured. I had the cazuelos de mariscos (seafood bisque), and tho the broth was really flavorful, none of the mussels were open, which was disappointing. Overall it is a nice restaurant tho.
Good food and drink - love the live music. Reservations made it easy to get a table and we were a few min early without any problem. Our server also played hostess and seated us, making it a little, tough on her. Short staff took off a star not her fault. Salad with protein for dinner and a lovely cocktail, including Spanish mussels. Would go back. Easy to book a table on OpenTable.
We stopped by here for a quick bite at the bar inside. It was mostly empty early afternoon on a Saturday. Beautiful weather, not too loud and a great vibe. Joey, the bartender, was super friendly and attentive. I ordered an espresso martini and it was well made and not overly sweet or strong. For the bites, we ordered the Spanish Mussles and the Antichucos de Lomo (beef Skewers). The mussels were well cooked and came with Italian bread I believe. It doesn't hold together as well as French bread but the mussels had good flavor. I was interested in the Chorizo but with it sitting in the broth, it wasn't my favorite. I think it also could have used a little garlic but otherwise okay. The Beef skewers were good and well cooked. We also ordered a side of chimichurri and it was absolutely delicious with the beef skewers. I would come back to try their sandwiches because it looked pretty good. Joey was great! Would recommend!
Solid new Peruvian spot in the area! Came for a quick dinner and service was solid. We live near by so just had two entrees to share: Lomo Soltado and Jalea. Portion size could have been bigger on the Jalea but the seafood was fresh. Lomo was really good actually, but could have used more fries. Wish they provided the signature Peruvian green sauce or chulpes/tostados as a snack!
Stopped here before catching our flight back to LA. The food and service was really good. We got the yucca fries, Cesar salad and the mixto lomo saltado - all really good. We also ordered the flan for dessert, but to be honest, it was pretty underwhelming. I like the aesthetics a lot too.
One of my friends lives across the street from the new Casa Playa. Three of us decided to check it out for dinner on a Thursday night. It's a full block off the A1A, so very few tourists would stumble upon the spot unless they knew about it. The restaurant ambiance is upscale (from the A1A spring break tourist row) beautiful with a large open bar, outdoor and indoor dining tables, and private room. It gives off a very "airy and breezy" vibe. The cuisine and cocktail focus is Peruvian. Their on the rocks margarita variations are fabulous! Of course they also serve Piscos. Most of the menu appeared to be classical or clasico dishes with acknowledgement of the ethnic diversity of Peru. We shared a Tuna Ceviche Nikkei, a Japanese-Peruvian fusion ahi tuna ceviche. We gobbled it up and wished for more. Ric N went for a traditional Peruvian Fried Seafood Jalea, lightly breaded, deep fried calamari, mussels, shrimp, scallops and clams. It was delicious, especially with the lime salsa criolla. Rick L ordered Lomo Saltado, a classic Cantonese-Peruvian fusion wok stir-fried dish of steak strips, red onions, tomatoes, French fries and soy sauce, served over rice. It did taste like an excellent Chinese takeout. I jumped at my favorite Peruvian dish, Lechon Asado, slow-marinated roast pork with the usual black beans, sautéed onions and sweet plantains. Except for not getting any roasted skin on high I love, it was as very tasty. Service was great, possibly because except for a small office dinner party at one table finishing up, we were the only ones dining inside. Regardless, we will definitely be back. Casa Playa is a hidden gem in the quiet neighborhood section of the beach, behind the A1A and huge hotels. What a find.
YUM!!! Despite a large, somewhat noisy party inside, the manager was incredibly accommodating and offered us a lovely outdoor table complete with heaters. We ordered the chicken lomo and the Argentina red shrimp. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! As a Dominican, I have high standards for tostones, and these definitely met the mark. They were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The rice was fluffy, and the chicken was flavorful. The chicken empanadas were delicious, on a crispy dough with flavorful chicken. The passion fruit mousse was a delightful treat, though the portion size was a bit excessive. The tangy flavor was intense, so be prepared for a powerful punch! The only minor disappointment was the limeade. It was overly tart and didn't quite complement the meal. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious offerings.

We had the yucca, potato salad, empanadas and guacamole and everything was ok but lacked some flavor, specifically for a Latin American restaurant. Also found the portions way too small. The empanadas should be called mini empanadas. Overall good but I expected better.

Enjoyed our dinner here on a recent Sunday. Lots of seating available and we opted to eat outside. Ordered some guacamole with plantains as an appetizer and shared a skirt steak with rice and beans and main. All were very good. All in all we enjoyed read more

This place was recommended by a few different friends. Really good food, and absolutely amazing cocktails. It's dog friendly on the patio which is a plus too. Love the atmosphere. I'd give the food an 8.5/10 and the drinks 10/10. I will absolutely go back! read more

The atmosphere is lovely. We sat outside and it was very relaxing with Latin sounds. Our food was ah-mazing and the service impeccable. Hubby had a Cuban salad and potat salad. I had the most beautiful salad ever. Food preparation time was a bit slow but the wait was worth it. read more

Wanted to give a huge compliment to the manager on duty Saturday night on 5.30.26. We were supposed to go to another restaurant. But when my partner asked me what I really felt like I said Casa Playa or Chimney house. So we raced to get there at 9:30ish starving. Good thing we asked the kind manager first if they would still serve us food since they closed at 10.. He was kind enough to tell us they would serve us no problem. Glad we asked as the male server who who wasn't even serving us) was quick to walk by when he saw us, not to greet us but to tell us the kitchen was closed. Then seemed annoyed when the manager confirmed we were ok. Thanks buddy. Thankfully we were being served by the kind male bartender with the female server being sweet enough to bring us menus We made sure to have our order in as soon as asked. The male bartender was great. Friendly and made us feel welcome. I have been to this restaurant many times because I love Chimney house and these are the same owners. So I was truly grateful that the bartender, female server and manager were so kind. The owners do a great job as hiring such great team members. Because of the managers hospitality we asked about future events and have already planned to stay at an air bnb across the street for the upcoming soccer games. Small acts of kindness go a long way for keeping locals happy with your business. The food is always consistently amazing. The ambience is just right with the perfect lighting, set up and views. The team members are always so friendly and great at making you feel welcome. Not to forget- Best lomo saltado and skirt steak! Don't miss out on this gem read more

Came here on a Saturday evening and they weren't too busy. We ordered Spanish empanadas, ropa vieja, grilled veggies, and sweet potato fries. Long story short, it was all amazing. If I *had* to complain, the black beans with the ropa vieja were more "juice" than beans. Was able to get a seat right away outside by the railing when we arrived. We were quickly brought our drinks. Shortly after, it started raining, so we asked to move to the bar. This is where service tanked for us - we had to ask to have our order taken, refills, ketchup, check, pay the check. The bartender literally never approached us once without us calling him over. This is where the one star was lost. read more

Met the owner, Frank who told me their origin story and invited me to an event the next day. Who does that? Very kind! All the servers were amazing and if you desire an energetic atmosphere with authentic Cuban food that isn't priced like Miami, this is your spot!!! read more
The decor in this restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and gave me a lot of inspiration ideas. I ordered two of their tapas and a drink. The waitress that attended to me was very kind and she had great recommendations which I ended up ordering. The spicy tuna tartar guacamole was delicious. It did need a bit more salt but that is preference. The Argentinian empanadas were baked which I appreciated instead of fried and I got both beef and chicken but I liked the chicken one a lot more. The red sangria came in a cute glass cup and it was a tad sweet but overall a fav. read more
Cute indoor/outdoor restaurant in Las Olas - not on A1A itself but a street behind it. It is Peruvian based with some other Latin influence. Parking is a bit tricky in this entire area by default - have to find some paid street parking so ensure to reserve some time for this. We visited for Valentine's Day with reservations made prior. Service was a little lacking but that's likely from the holiday. Every table was taken. We ordered an appetizer that never came - no biggie. And waited a while for our entrees to come. We ordered a Hamburger and a Whole Red Snapper. They were pretty good - the snapper itself didn't have much seasoning but was really good if you add the red onions to your bite as it had a ceviche base to it. It was very filling and crispy. I'd be interested in coming back and trying their Peruvian based item! read more
I absolutely loved this place! I started with the So Flo Mojito which was so much better than I thought it would be, it was very refreshing! The ceviche was so good but the mussels were okay, I wish they came with bread or chips though since it's raw. I got the 10oz skirt steak which was packed with flavor, a sauce isn't really needed it's good on its own. The chimichurri was okay. But I would definitely come back here to try more food. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful, wish I remembered his name but he was great! I fell in love with the ambiance, it had such a boho chic look to it so I'm looking forward to my next visit :) read more
I really can't give this more than three stars. I stopped in for lunch, there was one table with two people at it and no one else. There were two servers working the floor. I ordered a pressed Cuban sandwich with potato salad. It took way too long to get out to me. I had to get back to work, so I wasn't even able to finish the sandwich. Also, the menu said potato salad and they served it with French fries. I was never asked what I wanted, they just decided to go off the menu and give me something else. The prices are also high. $5.00 for a Coke. Who charges that? My lunch with tax and tip was $25.40. That is insanely expensive. Yes, I know it's near the beach, but it's still entirely too expensive. Owned by the same people who bring us The Chimney located by the Broward Performing Arts center, I knew I was in for a treat given I LOVE the food there. Casa Playa has been open for about a month at the time of my visits. The first time I went, I just sat at their outdoor bar and watched the world go by. Our drinks were well poured and on this Saturday night, they had live music (Spanish guitar) which added just the right touch to my evening. On my second visit, I brought a group of 5 and they took really good care of us. We sat outside and while I thought it might be too hot, given they are only a couple of blocks from the ocean and have ceiling fans it was very comfortable. Service was good and it's clear that they work as a team as some brought drinks and others food but they all communicated so nothing was lost between the various people. The drinks were well poured. We had a range of drinks from their version of a Moscow mule to Sangria, Margaritas and their passion fruit pisco. I'd be happy just to go back and get more of those wonderful drinks. We started with some appetizers- the empanadas both beef and chicken (the beef was the winner!), the spicy tuna tartar guacamole (complex but delicious!) and the fried calamari. All were very good. For our entrees we split a couple of the lomo saltados (stir fried steak with onions tomatoes and fries) as well as the arroz marinero (seafood paella). So good and plenty of leftovers to enjoy another night. Given we were a "large party of 5" they did automatically add a 20% tip to our bill but they were very good about calling it out so that we were aware. If you drive- there is paid street parking in the area, and The Tiffany condo which is the building this is in, also has valet parking for $10. Casa Playa is such a welcome addition to this area! Can't wait to head back and try more of their delicious food and drinks! read more

We had an amazing time at Casa Playa for our wedding rehearsal dinner in March 2026. Our 25 guests were given a yummy welcome drink before being escorted to the upstairs loft. The food was amazing and they offered a variety of options with 3 appetizers, 6 entrees, and 2 deserts. We enjoyed the guacamole Costeno with green plantain chips and empanadas for appetizers. For entrees, I had the Ropa Vieja and my husband had the lechon asado which were both delicious. Desert consisted of a yummy Tres Leches Cake and Passion Fruit Mousse. The service was fast and the staff attentive. Frank helped plan and organize everything. He was easy to work with throughout the process and even organized to have us driven from the hotel to dinner in their moke. We are so grateful to Frank and Casa Playa staff for making our rehearsal dinner a success. It set a great tone for the weekend. We highly recommend Casa Playa for hosting your event or dinner. read more
