It's very busy and loud there, though, if you are eating indoors at the bar like I was. The bartenders and barbacks are very busy. The restaurant is known for something called "Scoobies" which per Google Gemini are "crab claws (traditionally blue crab or snow crab) that have been partially de-shelled--leaving just the "pincher" as a handle--and sautéed in a rich sauce of garlic, butter, and olive oil with crushed red pepper and scallions." I didn't get the Scoobies because I was apprehensive about how difficult they would be to eat. My dishes were fried oysters, fish tacos, and coconut shrimp platter. They were all fine, but unremarkable. The platter comes with fries and cole slaw as listed, but when I said to the bartender that I didn't need cole slaw, just extra fries, he offered/clarified that I could substitute another side instead, so I went with broccoli. I did notice that there were many flies flying around when my shrimp platter came out. One of the other bartenders put out a plate of hot sauce to repel the flies, which helped. The place is famous and sells its own merchandise like shirts and hats. It is not located near other restaurants, and you'll have to walk fifteen minutes or get an Uber if you are discouraged by the waiting time. This place was unreal! the only obvious downfall is the wait time... i wish they took reservations, i get why they dont because they dont need to, but it would be way more enjoyable for the customer. Really appreciated the $5 valet situation, and the view of the water is incredible. We tried the blackberry mojito while we were waiting, it was okay but very strong. The food is incredible! We obviously had to start with the famous scoobies, which are their little crab claws drowned in butter and garlic and served with small toasts. MUST GET. We kept telling ourselves it was tucked down some side street away from the beach, hidden like a seafood speakeasy. Meanwhile every map kept insisting it was "at the beach," when what we were really remembering was this perfect spot sitting right on the Intracoastal with a view that makes you want to cancel the rest of your day. Well, mystery solved, and the return visit absolutely delivered. The view is flat-out magnificent. Boats cruising by, water sparkling, that laid-back South Florida energy where nobody should be in a hurry, especially the bar, which occasionally moves at the speed of a manatee on vacation. Honestly, it kind of adds to the charm. We started with the conch and shrimp fritters, and this is where the comedy began. The texture? Perfect. The flavor? Spot on. The actual conch and shrimp? Possibly still out in the ocean somewhere. Delicious fritters, but let's just say the seafood was working remotely. The sausage served with them, though, absolutely understood the assignment. The spinach and artichoke dip was excellent, rich, hot, and exactly the kind of appetizer that makes you accidentally ruin your appetite and not care. My fried snapper sandwich was the star of the table. Absolutely fantastic. Tender fish, fried perfectly, with a crust seasoned so well it felt like somebody in that kitchen actually loves food. Every bite hit. This is the kind of sandwich that makes conversation stop. The fish tacos, unfortunately, didn't get the same memo. Overcooked, underseasoned, and just kind of there. Not offensive, just forgettable, which in a place this memorable stands out even more. The burger, I'm told, was perfect. The tuna burger, on the other hand, got hit with what sounded like topping overload, to the point where the tuna itself got lost in the shuffle. If tuna is the headliner, let it sing. Now let's talk dessert, because this is the part that deserves its own standing ovation. The key lime pie is in a class by itself. Pro tip: save room. Seriously. This isn't one of those key lime pies that punches you in the face with fake tartness. It's balanced, subtle, fresh, and ridiculously good. The kind of dessert that makes everyone at the table suddenly become "just one bite" thieves. Pair that with a very well-made espresso martini, and suddenly all flaws are forgiven. We walked around the area for about 30 minutes till our place in line was only 3 tables ahead of us and got back to the restaurant in time to be seated in outdoor area overlooking the marina. The key lime pie was alright not too creamy like other cheese cakes but the crust and whip cream were delish. Would I come back.... Maybe during happy hour for a drink and appetizer and to catch the sunset... the vibe was what it is--birds with boats and plastic bags and fish all commingling in the harbor. We were at Ft. Lauderdale Beach-Las Olas and the kids were hungry for burgers and fries. We saw that this place was only an 8 minute walk so my husband and our friend went to pick up the food. My daughter and I were directed to order at the bar in the back of the restaurant. It was pretty crowded and full of a good time. They offer outdoor seating with a water view. At the entrance of the restaurant there is also water with lemon and mint in a dispenser for guest while they wait. We placed our order at the bar with a very friendly bartender. She told us it would be about a 15 minute wait. She was very attentive the entire time we waited, so customer service was stellar. I received my order and headed back to the car as they had packed up to leave the beach while I was gone. I ate my wings on the ride home. They were piping hot and fresh. I must say while the wings were spicy that was all. The flavor just wasn't there and all I tasted was charred meat. It was really disappointing being that all the other food was good. They were also $17 for about 7 or 8 wings, so I felt they should've been better. The wings came with ranch dressing and let me tell you THAT dressing was what saved the wings. They "now" have a sister restaurant next to them that offers raw bar items like the delicious oysters we had, and the octopus appetizer my friend ordered. Our drinks were brought over quickly, and after looking over the menu, I went with my previous favorite, the comfort bowl. It was as amazing as I remembered it. After my less-than-stellar brunch pick the previous day, my husband took the reins and chose Coconuts for our Sunday brunch in Fort Laudy-Dotty. We were seated immediately and greeted by an exceptionally charismatic host with locs, who enthusiastically pitched us the specials. He successfully sold us on the Scoobies appetizer. Our attentive waitress soon introduced herself, and we proceeded to order the coconut shrimp plate, the Moon and Cluck (ribeye steak and eggs), the lobster avocado salad, and frozen piña coladas. The Scoobies arrived sizzling hot (my favorite!) and the seafood was impressively fresh. The rest of the meal was just as appetizing as the Scoobies. We were happy with the coconut shrimp, and my ribeye and eggs (plus a surprise side of tomatoes) hit the spot. My only regret was not starting with the lobster avocado salad. I would have polished it off in one go, but I was too full to eat more than a few small bites. The piña coladas were five-star worthy, too. We sat indoors, so I can't speak to the views, but Coconuts easily served the best food of our trip. read more

The food was excellent. We had the lobster roll, potato snapper, and swordfish. We also had the house salads, scoobies and coconut shrimp apps. All very good. Our server was attentive and offered good descriptions for us. The views of the bay were great. Overall best dining experience near the beach, hands down. read more
