Decided on a solution to fill my pancake cravings and Cafe Brie looked like a good place to do just that. Atmosphere: Nothing special here. A few small tables set against the wall and a few larger tables on the outside sidewalk. Doesn't look like much thought was placed on the design here. Service: Didn't wait at all for one of those small inside tables. My server was efficient and served my tea latte exactly as requested. Little things can often make the difference between a successful dining experience and not and here were a few of the small things that were provided that make a difference. I ordered the pancakes and my server suggested a side of scrambled eggs. The food: I received two pancakes which were well done, light and fluffy and the perfect size. I also received plenty of butter (so many places don't give you enough butter) an ample amount of steamed milk for my tea (another area that always seems to be pretty hard to get right). One thing that always drives me crazy was the fact that my scrambled eggs were served in the same dish as my pancakes. I hate this as the syrup inevitably gets to the eggs. Fortunately, I had a second small dish under my tea (which is also a great thing to get, to place my tea bag). I used this dish for my eggs. Another nice convenience was the mug for my tea which had a handle that I could actually put my fingers through (another area that restaurants fail to provide). In addition, I also ordered a side of sausage which came in patties form and was pretty tasty. The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" would I come back? The answer, probably. Although the ambiance was substandard, the food was good the service was as well so, it more than likely would be worth another visit on my next stop in town. read more

What a delightful brunch cafe! Came here with a friend and we were cheerfully greeted by our waiter, Vladymer. They have both indoor and outdoor seating that is pet friendly. They have an extensive menu, but we decided to order that day's special which was a crepe Benedict stuffed with ham and topped with arugula. My friend and I also split "The Fig and Goat" which is spread on delicious herb crusted focaccia. Both were delicious and the perfect amount of food. Their almond cappuccino was a great pairing to the food. The service was quick and very friendly! Can't wait to come back and try more menu items! read more

We had a wonderful lunch here today. After our meal, my husband told me he knew that he already wanted to come back -- soon! I'd been here with a girlfriend quite a few years ago when there were different owners. The current folks have been here for about 8 years. The menu features breakfasts and lunches. They have a nice local clientele plus the visiting tourists. In addition to the regular menu, there is a blackboard with a daily special. The restaurant is small, but cozy. We chose to sit inside, but there are a number of tables under umbrellas outside. My husband chose their grits a la cafe brie. His plate was "licked" clean. He said he liked the way all the flavors combined -- the feta cheese melting into the grits along with the bacon, the gravy, and (his choice) of two over easy eggs. He even liked the rye bread he chose. I had a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with lettuce and tomato. The freshly made chicken salad was delicious -- shredded white meat with just the right amount of mayo. And the soft croissant was the perfect cover. I even liked the side of the day which was a small cup of pasta salad. I enjoyed a decaf iced cappuccino with my meal. Service was pleasant and friendly. We love supporting local places and we were happy to discover a new to us venue to add in to our regular rotation. We shall return! read more

We went yesterday to Cafe Brie for the first time. The food is nothing special. The bill is totally dishonest. We trusted it and without checking it we payed. Looking later at it, we noticed that the price on each item of the bill is higher than on the menu. I am attaching a photo of the bill. I wrote on the bill in blue the prices that are on the menu. So. I'm between 2 and 3 stars. Not because the food was horrible, it wasn't. It was mid at best, but because there are places that the moment you leave you say to yourself I wish I had skipped that meal and this is one of them. The Cuban sandwich was, well, mid. Too much cheese covering up a middling flavor. Not bad mind you but not like wow I wish it was more either. The hash was straight out of a can. Good because it's always good out of a can, but for a restaurant less than. I'd skip this place as there are dozens of other places to eat. Oh, the OJ was cheap kind out of a supermarket, not remotely sweet But... the coffee was good, so go for coffee but eat elsewhere. read more

This café is such a cute and quaint spot! My partner and I went in for a date to celebrate some accomplishments he actually picked it because he knows I love French cafés. We arrived around 9:30 AM, and it was nice and quiet inside with just a few people enjoying their morning coffee. Since it was hot and humid (as it usually is in South Florida in September), we chose to sit indoors. I really appreciated that it's a family-owned business. On the back of the menu, they share the story behind the café's name, "Brie." An American couple had 49 nephews and only one niece, so they decided to name the café after her. I thought that was such a sweet and adorable touch! We started with coffee and a mango mimosa, then ordered our meals I had the prosciutto mozzarella sandwich, and my boyfriend had the fig and goat cheese sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious, and each came with a little side of cold pasta salad, which was a nice surprise. Location is in a strip mall just before the bridge to Pompano Beach. Parking is metered and a bit confusing for visitors. There are so many diner spots in South Florida that are similar. Cafe Brie offers something a little different. I like the eggs Benedict and of course if you want the standard eggs you can have that too. The owner is always there and always accommodating offering personalized service. While it is in a strip, this place is mostly outside dining. The one downside is some of the tables get considerable sun which can be too much. read more

So, shame on me! Cafe Brie is a tiny hole in the wall right in Pompano Beach in a popular strip center. It's "only" been there for 11 years yet, this was our first visit. The staff is attentive, friendly and polite. The menu is extensive with traditional breakfast dishes as well as unique offerings. I had the traditional French Toast that was served with genuine Vermont Maple Syrup (take THAT Canada!). My wife tried the Fig jam, Goat cheese and bacon sandwich that was served on Rosemary brioche along with a side of macaroni salad. Both items were delicious and very satisfying. They also served a nice sized cup of coffee. It was my bad to stay away from Cafe Brie for such a long time, it won't happen again. read more

This is the cutest spot you will just pass right on by unless you know what you're looking for! My fiance and I were driving toward Fort Lauderdale and looking for a brunch spot, when I came across Cafe brie. I didn't really know what to expect until we arrived, and it's a very cute quaint and small local brunch spot. It's definitely a casual dining spot but perfect for hangover brunch, or you can enjoy some mimosas, with family and friends, or even after church. My fiance and I decided to go with sweet and savory and split the eggs benedict and French toast. We also ordered to freshly squeezed orange juices. When my fiance walked into his restroom he noticed two large fresh trays of croissants so we had to order one. I'm such a huge croissant fan, and admire that it's not an easy thing to perfect. They're croissant tasted amazing! I'm not sure if they do something special with their butter but it had a bit of a spin on what a traditional croissant would taste like, very subtle but I still picked up on something.
