    Smash burger
    Steven W.

So we decided to scurry on up to Pompano Beach for an adventure and decided to do lunch at The Vault. I'm told that it's an old bank building and found it to be open and bright. There's a busy bar and the tables are in the front, adjacent to the bar and in the back. Our four top was too close to the very noisy kitchen, which the day we were there, seemed to have a few loud mishaps that were jarring. Other than that, service was hit and miss but we weren't in a hurry. To the food: three out of four of us ordered the well reviewed smash burgers. Not a complaint from anyone. Very good they reported. The accompanying french fried potatoes got mixed reviews. Fresh cut and covered in some sort of whatever, we thought that they would be better plain. Me being the outlier, I chose the mahi plate which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fish was prepared perfectly, moist and delicious. The sides were okay. About that broccoli: The Vault does love it. There was broccoli cheddar soup, a smashed broccoli cheese appetizer and the only side dish was...broccoli! I did notice that the bar was packed on the day we went (Saturday). Day drinkers having fun. We had a nice leisurely lunch at The Vault.

The Vault in Pompano leans into its name with a cool, historic-inspired atmosphere that actually feels intentional, not gimmicky. It has that old-meets-modern vibe that makes it stand out right away. The food definitely holds up to the setting. The chicken wings were the highlight fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily some of the better wings I've had. The egg rolls were crispy with a rich filling, and the mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying without being too heavy. Drinks were well-made, and the overall experience felt polished but still relaxed. It's one of those spots where the ambiance and food actually match, which is rarer than it should be. Definitely worth checking out.

Friday night crowd. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and only ordered appetizers. The short ribs egg rolls were stuffed. The seasoning kind of threw it off mark. The brazen hot honey tips were dry very tough to eat. The Rangoons was probably the best of the 3. Will try other items next time.

We sat outside in their large alleyway area on a beautiful evening. We caught happy hour (5-7 pm) Drink specials for HH, no food. I had a cocktail made with gin, elderflower and prosecco. We had the buffalo chicken egg rolls, which were delicious and the grilled shrimp.

The Vault is one of Pompano Beach's most unique dining spots -- a beautifully restored historic bank turned into a stylish restaurant with incredible food. We came for HH before it got too busy. We loved everything from the seafood gumbo, grilled shrimp, crispy smashed broccoli, to the shrimp cakes, award-winning smashburger, and the perfectly crafted Chocolate Old Fashioned. The seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the bread pudding was the perfect finish. I also appreciate that they have 2 options for small plates: shareable or solo. I can try a bunch of things this way. Service from Gilberto was warm and attentive. A must‑visit in Old Town for great food, great cocktails, and a true sense of local history.

Very cute place . Bartender was super nice. Since it was our first time he told us the history of the restaurant. Tuesday they have smash burgers for $12 . Service was good . Need to come back and try some of the their stuff this time it was only a drink and burger

Came here not knowing g what to expect and we were very happy. The smash burger was great, as were the dill pickles and the fries. So different. Loved the old fashioned and the flapper fizz. This is a fun place with great vibes!

It has nice atmosphere and it's easy to have a conversation. There is Free parking next to the restaurant. There is a large bar. Staff was great. The menu is a mix of small and large plates. Everything tasted fresh. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The short rib was tender and not fatty. It was served over delicious potatoes. The bacon wrapped green beans with balsamic were also delicious. The smashed broccoli was more like a pancake made with Parmesan cheese. I didn't see any broccoli in my portion of the dish. I wouldn't order this again The wings were good, but there was nothing unique about them. The espresso martini was served in a beautiful glass. It wasn't filled to the top. It was not a creamy martini. The warm bread pudding for $8 was delicious. I do wish it was served a la mode. They comped my dessert since it was my birthday. It would have been nice if they added a candle to it since they knew it was my birthday. The restaurant seemed like it should have cloth napkins instead of paper.

The Vault lives up to its name, a hidden treasure located in the historical First Bank building. I consider myself an amateur historian and knowing the historical significance of the Vault building added charm to the dinner experience. The restaurant is cozy and most patrons were huddled by the bar area which added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The service at the Vault is great! The staff take pride in the food and their enthusiasm to provide great service shines through. I stared with the Bees Knees cocktail which I would describe as having a spicy sugar cane taste as the hot honey and spiciness is alway present. The Flapper's Fizz gin IMHO is the perfect summer cocktail, a berry delight that is also super refreshing. For dinner I went with the award winning First Bank Smash Burger the burger was perfect, gruyere, caramelized onions, mushrooms and a burger that was cooked to perfection. I ended the meal with the Pineapple Upside down cake which was also stellar the warm spices used in the cake accented the moistness of the cake perfectly. The Vault is open and you don't need a key to get in. The Vault Restaurant is one of those hidden special restaurants in Pompano Beach that revitalizes the community. All patrons would agree that The Vault is a special restaurant that has an added element of historical charm. I hope you enjoy Vault too!

On Monday, 2/9/26, my husband and I went to celebrate his birthday at the Vault. We arrived at 5:30 and able to choose a table. Our server, Reece, was welcoming and helpful with menu suggestions. I ordered a HH cocktail. Flapper's Fizz which was light and tasty. We both ordered the Braised Short Ribs with potatoes and gravy. It was Amazing!! The meat was so tender no knife was needed and perfect spices for a delicious meal!! Very good choice. By 6:00 pm it became busy, For dessert we split a banana pudding dish and enjoyed it thoroughly. The vibe here is a Speak Easy theme. Thank you to Reece for being attentive, cheerful, and helpful. We will return !

Definitely a hidden gem! The food was delicious and the $10 lunch special is a steal!!! The decor ties perfectly into the history and story behind they location. The service was great and it was nice meeting the baker who makes that delicious bread pudding .

Terrific speakeasy ambiance in a VERY cool district of downtown Pompano. Service and food were also excellent. Ask about outdoor seating...it's sort of out back across a small alleyway 5 star ambience: inside the main building, it still has a vague bank building vibe and a cool speakeasy bar theme. Outside there's a neat covered seating area behind the main building. This part of Pompano is a community redevelopment district with great street art and lots of free bands etc on most weekends. Parking is also free...perfect for cheapskate Joe. 5 star service: our server was amazingly nice. He even brought over the owner. My two friends arrived a little early and they even gave them a bit of a tour. 5 star food: I had something called the Outlaw Bowl ( the former bank on the same spot was robbed, there's a fun story on the back of the menu). Outlaw Bowl is sort of a teriyaki chicken stir fry with coconut rice...amazingly good and highly recommended

My chicken and rice dish... half eaten, sorry)

Greeted and immediately seated. Cool little restaurant off of Dixie Highway in Old Town pompano Beach. It used to be a back (the original vault is in display) Hubby got. Short ribs Mac n cheese (he said it was ready good) I got some kind of chicken veggie and rice bowl to absolutely die for! White coconut rice next to perfectly sized cubed chicken, broccoli, walnuts, red pepper, onion, drizzled with honey and some other magic flavors that are yelling at me to eat more, even though I'm stuffed. The service was great, the prices were reasonable. (Did not get dessert)

Smashburger and broccoli minus the bun. Personal preference.

The lovely hostess guided us to a booth by a window. We were greeted by our equally lovely server Jazmin (sp?). Btw, she rocks! Upon perusing the lunch menu we jumped at the deviled eggs appetizer. These beauties were two beet stained eggs cut in half topped with a spicy yolk filling and garnished with scallions, chicken skin crunch and trout roe. OH MY! My dear friend and dining companion was leaning towards a salad but we put on our thinking caps and decided that the fried chicken entree, which was accompanied by two sides and a biscuit was the best bang for our taste buds. And indeed it was. She ordered two pieces with greens and mac + cheese while I chose three pieces (thinking ahead to lunch tomorrow) plus the mac chz plus sweet potato soufflé (that was Thanksgiving babe!). The chicken was fresh out of the fryer and we had nothing but praise for the sides. To top it off...Nanner Puddin'! Just like mom made but no Jello pudding here. Amazing. Since it was a weekday, we got to meet the chef and give kudos. (He's a happy dude) I wouldn't care to come here on the weekend when it's packed but I can see why folks do. The place is enormous with a huge outside venue and a sprawling banyan tree. Plus the Sunday brunch menu is tempting. But for a chill lunch with nice employees and scrumptious food on a Thursday, we were star struck and satisfied.

I loved the aesthetic --…read morethe green and gold decor was really pretty, and surprisingly it wasn't too packed for a Sunday around 4:45 PM. I also really liked how spacious the restaurant felt. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cute outdoor bar area with stools where you can eat and hang out, which gave the place a really nice vibe. The music was a great mix of R&B and oldies too. Now let's talk service... for me, service is everything, and unfortunately that's what made this experience disappointing. Our waitress, Haley, was pretty inattentive throughout the meal. We asked for extra Caesar dressing and never got it, and it was honestly hard to get a hold of her most of the time. Because of that alone, I'd probably think twice before coming back. As for the food -- it was hit or miss. We started with the wings as an appetizer. They were flavorful, but nothing memorable. I'd probably skip them next time and try something else. I ordered the crispy Cobb salad because it sounded amazing on the menu, but it was a letdown. It was mostly lettuce with barely any chicken, and I had to mix the whole salad myself. At a restaurant, I kind of expect a Cobb salad to come already tossed together. Also... no blue cheese available? Come on now lol. My boyfriend got the fried chicken with sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. I will say, everything came out HOT, so you can tell the food is made fresh. The mac & cheese didn't look impressive at first, but it tasted SO good. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. My sister ordered the lobster pasta, and honestly the portion size shocked me in the best way. They were generous with the lobster, which almost never happens, and she loved it. My daughter got the crispy chicken sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had, so that was definitely a win. Overall, the food itself wasn't bad at all -- my salad was just a flop. If the service had been better, this review probably would've been very different. Not sure if I'd come back, but maybe on a different day with a different server.

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

Drew, the bartender, even went out of his way to make me a specialty drink I had seen on Yelp that's no longer on the menu, such a thoughtful touch. By 7:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed, which says everything. Exceptional service, amazing food, great drinks, and an all around fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back.

Not a dealbreaker, just a "whoa, okay, I see you" moment. Micro twist? You'll say you're full... and then still find yourself reaching for one more bite like it owes you money. Here's the bottom line. Twice Removed Gastropub knows exactly what it is. Great drinks. Solid food. A place that feels easy the second you walk in and even harder to leave. Four stars. And one of those spots you quietly hope doesn't get too popular... because you're already planning your next visit.

All three stars go to Ava. This past Tuesday my family came to Shooters for dinner to celebrate my…read morebirthday. We were coming from Hallandale, we had an 8pm reservation got seated around 815 which wasn't too bad. We were sat in a dimmer quieter section away which I really appreciate since our 1 year old was sleeping giving us the perfect date-night setting. Unfortunately the last time we been to Shooters was Valentine's Day 2025. We weren't aware that the menu had been changed since our last time dining which was rather unfortunate since the two entrees (seared brown butter scallops & shrimp and grilled soy-ginger glazed salmon) we came for were changed on the menu. We ended up getting the soy glazed salmon and scallops & prawns which unfortunately we did not enjoy at all. Even the sides were different previously you could just get a side of Mac now you can only get a side of truffle Mac? The grilled soy ginger salmon was on a bed of veggies (bok choy, Napa cabbage, onions, peppers) the one that's currently on the menu was basically on two inedible pieces of bok choy and a bed of rice I couldn't even break and chew the bok choy. Our server Ava was very attentive and sweet even gave a beautiful little treat for a birthday dessert ( not a chocolate fan but her energy made the dessert amazing ). After we paid our check we asked Ava for a manager and did specify that it was regarding the food more and not her service. I didn't catch the name of the manager we spoke to but her response to us simply questioning the menu change was she's not the culinary director or something along those lines but she would still hear our feedback. She just had such an I don't care attitude about it in my opinion and had I not had a few drinks in my system, trying to enjoy my time out with my family and birthday I would've let her know her attitude regarding it just was unnecessary. We unfortunately agreed to find a new go-to restaurant to celebrate our special occasions since so much has changed. Thank you so much to Ava for making our visit worth it! Didn't get pictures of the salmon, scallops, drinks or oysters that we got but I did get the fish dip and the dessert. Edited to add pictures from one of our previous visits
