Okay. So we walked in and we sat outback and oh my! This place was gorgeous! Such a good ambiance and mood. It was a little chilly (its march) but the manager came and introduced himself and turned on a patio heater! The waiter was amazing and helpful and our food was phenomenal! Honestly some of the best steak I have ever had! If you want amazing food, amazing service who cares, and a cute setup! Come here! read more

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Our server was really knowledgeable of the wine list, which was massive, and brought us a couple options to taste before we went with the bottle she recommended. The Bouillabaisse was fantastic - such a great mix of seafoods. The Royale with Cheese might have been the most delicious burger I ever had. Where else can you go where it is acceptable to order a burger to go with your lobster and bottle of French wine? The service was top notch and the vibes were on point. Really nice ambiance inside this historic building. read more

We had an excellent brunch here on a Sunday morning. Food was delicious and service on spot. Would have had dinner there but they require reservations and a credit card to hold and we aren't up for that. Just walked in for breakfast and were welcomed. Would definitely go back for brunch! read more

What a fabulous experience!! Highly recommend. I have not been to many places and say "wow" after the first bite. We started off with the escargot and the Patte flight (Chicken, pork & mushroom). Our entrees were the Sole Meunière and Filet Aux Poivre which were absolutely flavorful and amazing. Steak was perfectly cooked. We ended with the Lavendar Creme Brule and macaroons which were also fantastic. Our Waitress Margaret was very patient and knowledgeable in helping with suggestions and answering questions. Paul the manager greeted us and made sure we were happy with everything. It's located in a older house and very quaint but, plenty of outside seating on the porch and yard as well. What a great way to celebrate my birthday! read more

A pleasant surprise. We wandered into this beautiful property in a historic St. Augustine home. So for starters, this was a blind find. It's new and we hadn't heard about it yet. We happened to be hungry. So we started with the bread service and a crisp Laurent Perrier Rose. The pictures are of the delicious dishes we tried. We started with a rich and flavorful fois gras followed by the classic cassoulet. We finished with the pot de crème along with the unique and beautiful L'Orange. Overall, there was a wonderful vibe as we sat in the court yard patio. The food was decadent, like good French food should be! I think this is a wonderful addition to the St. Augustine Food scene. Give it a try! There is something for everyone. I will be back to pair a big bold French wine with the steak. Overall 4.5/5. read more

La Nouvelle is now on my top 10 all time list of best restaurants. First let's start with the ambience of the restaurant. The old Jefferson house has been converted and it offers such a warm feel. The staff were very courteous and attentive but not smothering. Finally, the food. Any words I type won't do it justice. Every dish packed a ton of flavor in every bite. Every dish was also aesthetically pleasing. We will be back! read more

Great spot for brunch! Can't wait to try for dinner soon. Solid bistro style French food with excellent wine service. IMHO La Nouvelle is just what we've needed in the area and has vaulted itself to the upper echelon of restaurants in Northeast Florida. Very nice ambiance and service. read more

Amazing dinner and service was top notch. We will definitely be back on our next trip to St Augustine.

I was a little disappointed to learn that they no longer served baked oysters, only the raw version. Had the West Virginia Brooktrout entrée and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. For dessert the peerless crème brûlée topped with a few decorative fruits. Among the appetizers included on the specials board was a caviar service for $125. American hybrid caviar is making inroads onto American restaurant menus. It makes one almost forget the etherial quality of Iranian Beluga now illegal here. read more

Absolutely amazing, start to finish. Service is impeccable in a lovely setting. Wonderful, extensive wine list. And the food...oh my goodness!! A wonderful experience all around. read more

What a gem! We had lunch here and it was a 5 star experience. I started with the Mussel Curry Soup and it was delicious. My wife had the Nicoise Salad and she loved it and it was enough for two. I had the Crab Cake which was very good (the crab was not flake). The wine list is extensive. We finished with the Lavender Creme Brulee which was perfect for two and superb. The ambience is wonderful - really a great setting for a special event. The service is excellent - Margaret was friendly with good dining suggestions. This is French dining at its best. I don't think this is a restaurant for kids unless they're French. read more

This was one of the best meals I've had! We got the pate appetizer, a bottle of amazing wine, bouillabaisse, and steak. We sat outside on the porch and it was so quaint! The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. 1000% will be back! read more

We went in with pretty high expectations to La Nouvelle since I've read online that they have an actual French chef who trained with Gordon Ramsey and that the food is top notch. We lived up north in the past so we've been to French fine dining restaurants in New York City. This is definitely a fine dining restaurant as the restaurant is beautiful, the prices are definitely up there and the menu is put together nicely. However, I'd say the food was 50/50. We loved some things but weren't too crazy about the others. For example, I thought the pate appetizer was amazing and I'd definitely come back for it. However, their steak tartare was just ok. I think maybe they didn't use the highest quality of meat for it. Same thing goes for entrees and desserts: I thought the desserts were phenomenal and I'd definitely come back for those but entrees (2 steak entrees and 1 duck confit) were average at best - the temperature of the steak ordered was not cooked correctly which at these prices and the restaurant setting is sort of unacceptable. The duck confit leg was under-seasoned and just bland (the grape garnish on it was great though but didn't make up for an average at best duck). When you spend this type of money for a dinner, you expect everything to be AMAZING. For those reasons, I'd come back for an appetizer or a dessert - just was not impressed with their actual entrees. I'd be interested to try their brunch menu since it appears that whoever makes their dessert is a patisserie genius! read more

La Nouvelle just opened about a month or so before we went. We sat in a very lovely garden area surrounded by hedges and shade trees. We had the French onion soup which was very good. We also tried the foie gras which was really good. We all had the bronzino which was tasty but not the best that I have ever had. The wine list was excellent and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and totally friendly. We will be back again. read more

My husband and I celebrated his birthday at La Nouvelle Bistro Friday evening. OMG, what a wonderful experience! The last time we dined there, we had asked the Chef to surprise us with a planned menu ahead of time. When we arrived, a five-course delicious meal was planned for us to savor, including dessert. With each course, the presentation and flavors were unbelievable! Also, the service was excellent! Paul, the manager, the Chef and the staff made this an evening we will never forget. Thank you all for making this so special. We will see you back there soon. read more

Haven't had a better French meal anywhere, and that includes France. Everything was perfect, including the service. We had the lobster bisque, sole, duck, pot de crème and the Paris brest. La Nouvelle - New Brunswick oysters. - French Near Me - Saint Augustine, Florida

Wonderful overall experience, great food, and a cozy atmosphere. We were seated with no wait on the outside porch. All of the staff were incredibly kin,d and attentive and great at explaining any questions that we had. We started with the foie gras, that came with wine rehydrated apricots, tiny pickles, and an onion jam. The foie gras was just like what we used to have in France! The apricots were a delightful suprise, very unique but delicious. We asked for more bread to go with it and got a basket of petit baguettes and some of the best butter I've ever had! For our main meals we got the quiche and the jambon burre sandwich. The quiche was so light and fluffy and the sandwich was very tasty and large enough that I took home half. Also got a side of pommes aligot - super cheesy mashed potatoes. Too full to try dessert, but 100% would go back again and try to leave room. read more

I wouldn't say anything was terrible, but I would say that the fawning reviews seem a little undeserved. Staff was relatively attentive and the food was ok but not special. Best part: Actually the parking was a highlight. St Augustine was really crowded so the private parking lot was awesome. Food wise, I enjoyed the cheese puffs. Reservation: about half of the seating is outside, so if you want to be inside, your time options would be limited. We arrived a few minutes early and ended up having to wait about 20 minutes for our table. We sat outside and it was not nearly as quiet as other reviews made it seem. I will admit that there was a table of obnoxiously loud ladies seated not too far away, which didn't help. Also there was an endless stream of golf cart tours driving by and stopping, which caused the cars behind to honk. Service: Relatively attentive. Could tell that they work on their sizzle words when describing food. Drinks stayed pretty full and our server did a great job timing our dishes. Food: This was the least impressive part, which is unfortunate. The onion soup was ok but I felt the Comte cheese was too mild and added very little to the dish. Ultimately it was kind of bland. Also had the lobster bisque which had its own issues. Flavor wise, the bisque was delicious and had a ton of lobster flavor. The problem was that it was just too rich for a whole cup. One or two bites would be enough. I would describe the bisque as more of a lobster flavored hollandaise sauce or a lobster butter. Also tried the Duck confit with grapes and potatoes. The duck fat potatoes were good but I wouldn't say special. I'm skeptical that the duck was actually cooked confit style. It was not nearly as tender as I expected. The fact that I actually needed a knife was my first clue. If it was in fact cooked confit, it should have gone a bit longer. Overall, La Nouvel just didn't live up to high expectations. Possibly we ordered the wrong dishes but I don't really see myself giving this place another shot. read more

First time dining at La Nouvelle last night. (6/28/24). Went to celebrate our anniversary. When making reservation, we were asked if there was a special occasion. Stated it was our anniversary. Upon being seated, we were met with 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate! Very nice touch. For starters, we had the french onion soup and lobster bisque. Both were so delicious. We had the salmon special and filet aux poivres for our entrees. They were both exceptional and so delicious! My husband stated that the salmon was one of the best he's ever eaten. For dessert we shared the profiteroles and they did not disappoint as well. The staff is amazing, very friendly and appreciative of us choosing La Nouvelle for our dining experience! Paul and Summer both took care of us and could not have been nicer and making sure we were having a wonderful time while we were there! We can't wait to return and try some of the other choices on their menu! We love French cuisine and so happy to have La Nouvelle as a dining option in St. Augustine. Tre's Bien! read more

Wonderful! Best food experience in St Augustine! We will be back when we are back in the area

Just an awesome dinner at LaNouvelle. I'd rate it among the top 3 restaurants I have been to in the US. It deserves a Michelin star for sure. It's only been open about 3 or 4 weeks, but it is already understandably hard to get a reservation, which is the way it should be! Great service, awesome cuisine and really fantastic wine list. We had the Foie gras, Escargots, Vertes salad, Duck and Quiche. I couldn't decide between Foie gras and Escargots for appetizers, so we got both. Complements to Foie gras were spectacularly good. Escargots were classily prepared and very tender. Mmmm so tasty. Salad had a wonderful herb dressing and soft cheese that was just splendid. Best duck of my life! Perfectly done and so, so tasty. A roasted juicy character, not at all over or under done, which is my usual take on duck. My wife had the Quiche, and she said it was the most fluffy and light and most wonderfully flavored Quiche that she ever has had. We've eaten in French restaurants across the US and around the World. We went last night and while we were there, we booked lunch for two days later. The dessert menu is to die for!!! Congrats to Chef Michael and the staff. There were a few very small wrinkles in service, nothing significant, just part of a new restaurant and staff. Be prepared for a really great meal if you make a reservation and go there. I suggest you go with some other people who enjoy fine dining and great wine, so you share the absolutely fantastic experience with other who enjoy really great dining!!! So, so good! read more

Food, service and ambiance were all excellent. It is a little pricey but I'm ok with that when you get what you pay for!

First time at this really nice, cute and quaint restaurant. The lobster bisque and french onion soup were perfect. The mussels were good, but the sauce they were in was delish! I got the catch of the day special, which was rainbow trout. I've never had it before, but the lemon, caper and artichoke description sold me. When it came with mashed potatoes, it looked good. However, it lacked flavor. It was so plain. There were artichokes, but I didn't see any capers or taste lemon at all. It didn't taste like anything really, so I only had a few bites. That was okay, I was able to save room for a dessert. We chose the L'orange. It was so yummy and unexpected. Happy we chose that and at least finished the meal with something other than the disappointing fish. Will definitely go back, but will obviously choose a different entree. It'd be nice if they included bread on the table for dipping in the delicious sauce the mussels came in! Oh, and the service was great! read more

Wonderful!!! Great service from Jessie!!!! He was very personable and did a great job with the menu and made our dinner a joy! Jordan was also a plus for his conversation. The menu is classic with interesting twists. The Duck Terrine was delicious and a big portion, the Escargot could not have been better, the Quiche was rich and flavorful with a delicate puff pastry crust. They have probably one of the top wine lists in Florida. Overall, a bit pricey but actually a real value for this class of restaurant. I will certainly return asap! My rating would have been five stars, but we were asked to vacate the table before we were done because they had another reservation. We were there over two hours, they did offer to move us and buy dessert, and we were pretty much done. I had just ordered a bottle of wine and we were still eating our entree so it was awkward at best, but I will certainly recommend them and be back! read more
