This is the falafel plate. It was delicious. It had rice, falafels, hummus, whole wheat pita, red cabbage and tahini.

The service is always great. I love their hummus and I usually get that to go but tonight I treated myself to the falafel plate. It was delicious. It's my go to spot and I'm all about supporting neighborhood establishments.

(This rating is based on what I tried and not a reflection of the entire menu!) The service was great and I love the little seating area. I was just getting a few things to taste. I tried the mint lemonade which was refreshing and tasted freshly squeezed. I also tried the falafels but didn't enjoy it that much. The star of the show to me were the fries it was Excellent and you should definitely try! There are many different modifications for gluten free eaters but no gluten free pita. I hope that they can have that option soon so I can try a little more on the menu. I hope I can update this review soon when I am able to taste more on the menu.

$20 Beef and Lamb Kebab Platter and $17 Chicken Shawarma Plate

Don't get why this place has such high reviews. I was fooled by them. This is an unassuming hole in a wall establishment. No indoor dining. Mostly take out. Only a few tiny wooden folding tables and chairs available for outdoor dining. On a random Tuesday evening, this place had tons of customers. Only one bathroom, for which you have to wait at least 10 minutes. If you don't have a mask, you're out of luck--you won't be allowed into the bathroom. Service was nonexistent. We had to ask and wait for tap water five times. Only one waiter who looked like he was close to murdering everyone was on duty. Such intense, heavy countenance. Not a smile or a relaxed facial muscle could be caught all evening. So tense and unwelcoming. $20 Beef and Lamb Kebab Platter and $17 Chicken Shawarma Plate were standard fare. Served on plastic plates with plastic utensils, this left more to be desired. Not a place I'd return to again.

Ordering from Kulushat has become a weekly ritual. I place the order on my phone while waiting for my train after work, then swing by the restaurant 35 mins later on the walk back home. Comfort food on tough days. I'm a sucker for the classic falafel pita (can be ordered as a plate) but I find myself ordering the eggplant a la yafa pita more often. Comes in white or wheat pita. Other vegan options on their menu include the cauliflower pita, stuffed grape leaves, marinated beets salad, lentil soup, and rugggelakh (for dessert). Shout out to Damian (sp) and the rest of the crew who always take care of me. This is a cool neighborhood spot.

I wanted to try something different from what I usually order out for delivery. This hit the spot. Stuffed grape leaves were nice and fresh. The beet salad was also fresh and tasted good as well. Loved the humus and tahini sauce, which added a nice flavor to the chicken swarma plate. Only criticism is there wasn't enough rice. However, food is very tasty, and I would reorder these food items again.

Took my kid here to eat and chat! Can I tell you how we barely spoke and barely breathed, lol. The food was so good we chomped in total silence out side of, pass me this or let me try that. Service was amazing! No indoor seating... Outdoor seating is greeting and comfortable. We enjoyed our meal and experience Very Much! Ohhh and if you're into spice, you HAVE TOO ask for house sauce... it's freaking amazing P.S. Had falafel appetizer DELICIOUS, gobbled it up before I even thought to take pictures... it just smelled so good when it hit the table. It never stood a chance. Lololol!!! Holy moly! This place is terrific! I consider myself a falafel (and hummus!) connoisseur and until Mamoun's opens a Brooklyn spot (seriously Hoboken gets a Mamoun's location and we don't?!) this will be my go to. I've tried the falafel in a sandwich (great, fresh pita) and a platter and it's delicious! Crispy, light, and very well seasoned. Their hummus is also delicious and the platter is giant and very reasonably priced! I can't wait to try more of the menu!

Sad to see these folks closed their shop by Barclays Center but happy that the PLG location is thriving. Met up with a friend for lunch on a Friday. We arrived at opening. He lives in the neighborhood but never noticed this place. Well now he will! Ordered the chicken shawarma pita and he got the lamb kebab pita. No need for anything else. Except for maybe a few beers to wash it down. My only gripe is that there is no in-person ordering. Even if you are eating on their sidewalk tables or hut on the street, you have to place your order through their website. Usually takes 20-30 minutes so I recommend planning ahead and ordering before you get there if you're feeling hangry.

Good food but too expensive. If you get only a sandwich it's still a lot. Kulushkat has some pretty authentic stuff. A lot of great vegan choices. The falafel is the best thing. Around Lefferts Gardens there aren't too many places for Middle Eastern food. It has a lot of fast food chains, but there's a few locally owned restaurants. This is one of the best places in the area for vegetarians. Like many Middle Eastern places, there's choices like falafel, grape leaves, and hummus. The dining area is small and there's only a few tables. I came in the last time with my hot woman friend. We were greeted by the friendly owner. Both of us felt like having falafel. I got the falafel pita. She had the same thing because she knows I pick good shit. It's about $10 for only a pita. This comes with cabbage and a very good tahini. It was good but it wasn't much. To add fries with it would have been a few bucks more. It already was too expensive. They also have some more expensive platters. I like the food here. It's just too expensive for the portion. That's why I've only been here a few times.

This is just based on the falafel pita which was just okay. The pita was dry /cold and the falafel balls were decent. The flavor profile is one note plus a little taste of cilantro. If going for falafel only, I'd recommend Falafel tanami in midwood which tastes closest to what you'd get abroad.

Some of the best falafel I have had in NYC! After a recent 5K running event in Prospect Park on a sweltering humid night I just wanted somewhere to eat dinner in some cool AC. Walking around we found Kulushkat which means "shut up and eat". Being that this small joint offered up some delicious Middle Eastern food we did just that! Tasty food and friendly service. Large portions. Prices that won't break the bank. Vegan options of course. It's a tiny spot with a few tables. Clean. The falafel here is delish! The falafel platter for $10.95 is so good! Your choice of one falafel flavor, Israeli salad, red cabbage salad, rice, hummus, tahini and warm fluffy pita. You can't go wrong with this choice. I'll run back here the next time I'm in the area!

    Mediterranean Feast and Falafel Platter
    Rachael M.

Delicious and fast take out, no contact. The Mediterranean feast and Falafel platter were definitely enough for two of us to share, with leftovers. They both came with pita (I like that they offer both white and whole wheat), hummus, and tahini. The food was absolutely delicious and the hummus clearly super fresh. We thought the Mediterranean feast was a bit pricy but still very good.

    Julia K.

Excellent place to get delicious Middle Eastern food. My friend ordered the hummus with vegetables and falafel which he enjoy very much. The pita bread with chicken shawarma was delicious, and the seasoned fries had a wonderful spice level, which the tahini sauce nicely complimented. The service is very friendly and fast, only the issues with the door not closing properly by itself can be annoying in the cold weather when eating in.

Walking through, you get a nice view of the kitchen area, seeing where the magic happens: an exciting way to start the experience! My group decided to share a few things, all of which were delicious. The vegetable pizza (or "pitza" as they style it) was a huge hit: we loved the crust, with its resonant notes of olive oil, and the mozzarella cheese could not have been fresher. The olives and peppers delightfully balanced the cheese and tomatoes, making for an irresistible flavor profile and mouthfeel. Seriously, do not underestimate this formidable pie! The chicken platter came loaded with grilled chicken, hummus, and salad, along with warm, freshly baked pita. Perfect option for the person that wants to take their time sampling a variety of foods. The leg of lamb sandwich, meanwhile, is ready to be consumed at whatever pace you deem fit: indeed, one of our party devoured it voraciously, no crumbs left behind. And finally, we also worked our way through the large feta salad, which turns out to actually be an enormous platter of crumbled feta with some diced tomatoes on top. Don't order this expecting a leafy green salad, it's all cheese! BUT, do order it so that you can add some tangy feta to everything else on the table. It really makes the flavors pop. My first impression of Bedouin Tent was excellent. Service was great and the prices are very fair for the area. Whether you're seeking a more traditional Mediterranean meal or something with a fusion twist, this is an awesome spot to consider.

Abdullah is super friendly, very helpful, and was only slightly confused that two men were about to share a lamb shawarma platter as opposed to getting their own separate meals. (What Abdullah did not know is that this was our second lunch of the afternoon - classic bang bang - and we're pretty comfortable with each other.) When it came out, the platter was everything I'd hoped for. A stunning, colorful array of intensely flavorful lamb slices carved off the spit and served over rice and salad, slathered in white and hot sauce, topped with pickled vegetables. To be sure, I regretted having a second lunch, but not because of anything amiss with the food. And I also regretted not getting any baklava, but I'll rectify that next time around.

We live in Jersey and come to Brooklyn every year to get our taxes done. Its become a tradition to go to Mazzat after our tax appt. In all these years not only have we never had a bad meal, but the meal has always been exceptional! Today it was just my wife and I. Our two sons had other plans. Even though it was just us two, we ordered like there were four. We started off with drinks. My wife had the Mango Sunrise and I had a Mojito. Carlos, who does a little bit of everything at Mazzat recommended it and it was the best Mojito I've ever had! Well balanced, the mint stood out and the agave gave it just the right touch of sweetness. Mazzat is a place where food is meant to be shared so we ordered multiple apps and two entrees. We got hummus, merguez (lamb sausage), garlic shrimp and chicken cigars, which you can also order with lamb. All of it came with a basket of soft pita with crispy pita chips added. The hummus has the consistency of Gelato; smooth with the slightest of lemon flavor, drizzled with olive oil and paired perfectly with the pita. Chicken cigars come with an avocado crema that complements the smoky flavor of the chicken inside. Shrimp was fantastic and the merguez equally so. Both come bathed in olive oil and spices, perfect for dipping. My wife had shakshuka because she's a big tomato fan and was very happy with her choice. I got the half marinated chicken which comes with bulghur rice, a side salad and a garlic dipping sauce. The chicken had a deep smoky grilled taste that permeates the meat. It didnt need the dipping sauce but the dipping sauce was a great partner nonetheless. The bulghur rice deserves it's own paragraph to describe it but I'll keep it to buttery, soft and fluffy and unbelievably delicious! We also ordered a fattoush salad which is as good as it gets as far as salads go. We consider Mazzat our favorite restaurant pound for pound. When it comes to food quality, quantity, value, freshness, service and atmosphere, you'll be hard pressed to get any better than Mazzat. Apologies for the long read but I feel you have to give a restaurant like Mazzat it's kudos and that just won't happen thoroughly in a one paragraph review.
