Rotating lamb and chicken really brings the Mediterranean vibe. Kind of looks like a hole in the wall with old decor, several tables for you to dine in. Vast options of having your filling in a wrap, pita, combo platter or rice. Would definitely try their 9.95 lunch special in the future. The SO stated that the lamb wrap was amazing. However, my chicken combo was very dry. I really liked their cold eggplant appetizer. Filling portion and my favorite was their dessert - kunefe. I would come back to try their falafel but would skip out on the chicken. They even offer smoothie and juices. Note theirs a credit card fee, so better to bring cash.

For the price you're paying, the quality of the food here is amazing! The portion was heavier than I expected, which I appreciate it because I can eat a lot. I got my food within minutes of ordering. While there isn't a lot of seating area, there's just enough to potentially get some work done on your laptop.

Wow. I was expecting great food. I was not expecting this place to completely change the course of my day. I came here after walking 20 minutes to a doctor's appointment that I found out was scheduled for the following week when I arrived at an empty office. Frustrated, I figured I would grab a nice lunch and remembered Pita Pan is on my way home. I heard about it from the Park Slope FB group where several people swore it is the best falafel around. I arrived and was slightly overwhelmed by the large menu. The owner, Aladdin (yes seriously that's his name - I know, amazing), quickly noticed and jumped in to guide me through the ordering process. He made me a lovely shawarma salad. I then noticed the stuffed grape leaves, so I asked for a side order, but I called them "dolmathes," which is the Greek word for them. After noticing I spoke Greek, he suggested I try the baklava, so I ordered that as well. I made a comment, "Just like grandma used to make!" and he then made me a bowl of lentil soup free of charge. When he handed it too me, he said, "Just like grandma used to make!" My grandma, indeed, did used to make some bangin lentil soup, and their lentil soup was indeed also bangin. Overall, I was blown away by the kindness and compassion shown to me in the exact moment I needed it. It's safe to say Aladdin turned my frown upside down. And every single thing I ate was DELICIOUS. Definitely one of the best stuffed grape leaves I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. I will definitely be back to try more items on this comprehensive menu and to visit my new friend Aladdin.

Best falafel around and still good. It was a few years ago I first went here. Pita Pan is one of many Mediterranean places in Park Slope. Despite the competition it's still around. The falafel is my favorite but there's lots other stuff here to try. Eating inside the restaurant is pleasant, but it's often a lonely experience. It seems most people get takeout. The pitas are portable so they're easy to carry with you. As for the platters, these are messier so they aren't good for eating on the go. The inside looks bright and clean so it's all right eating there. Another thing I like is that it's also a smoothie bar. It's $4.25 for the smallest, which is still a pretty big size. They can mix a lot of different fruits, and these are free of dairy too. As for the food I like falafel the best. It's $5.25 for the falafel pita. This is best with the creamy tahini sauce, which makes it a sloppy treat. Inside there's a window counter to sit at. It also has a few tables, but it never seems to be busy. They can also deliver to the neighborhood so you can access these pitas several ways.

Great place! They pack on the swarma meat into the pita sandwich. Sliced to perfection. So good n perfectly seasoned. We were starving so we forgot to take pics of the food for posting . The shepherd salad was tasty w just the right amount of parsley. The falafel is so well cooked, super crunchy outside. Super addicting. Always satisfying. Definitely give this place a try.

My friend raved about this place but unfortunately it fell flat for me. The prices were definitely reasonable but there wasn't enough meat and the sauces weren't all that, they were actually quite runny. All in all, I've had better but I've also had worse.

The food is pretty flavorless and low quality. Everything looks like it's been sitting out all day. The best part of the meal is the crispy part of the chicken, and even that is just alright. The pita is store bought and hard and dry. If you're counting calories or carbs, the pita is not worth it. The tahini sauce is flavorless. There's a weird fake lemon taste in the chicken shawarma. The only good thing I can say is that the rice is nice and soft. I ate less than half my meal because I was hungry and threw the rest away, which breaks my heart because I hate wasting food. Decent price point, sure, but if you're going for flavor and quality ingredients, go to Zaytoons in Prospect Heights - it's close enough.

Why would the staff not wear green hats with feathers in them ?? Either way the food was ok. Everything was just mediocre. One thing I will say is they give you a lot of food. I found the food to be fresh as well (contrary to some other helpers opinion) . The problem was the food just wasn't that good . Got a lamb shawarma with rice, small salad and for my side I got half babganoj and half eggplant salad. The lamb was good, I like the crispy bits as long as it wasn't dried out, and it wasn't. The rice was just your average rice pilaf. The salad was put in the small section of the take out dish which was basically 2 fork fulls. And lastly the sides : babaganoj was a good alternative to hummus. I felt it was slightly sour but that could've been lemon. The eggplant salad on the other hand was really good and tasty . I would def go there agian.

Sometimes the best finds happen when you're focused on family and stumble into excellence. The food is the real deal. Bold, authentic, and done with discipline. Every bite reflects craftsmanship and pride. No shortcuts. No hype. Just results. The open, spacious layout creates an atmosphere that's relaxed, energetic, and inviting--perfect for unwinding, connecting, and enjoying great food without feeling boxed in. This place delivers real smoke, real flavor, and that no-nonsense Texas-style authenticity that's hard to find anywhere else in the city. From the moment you walk into the rustic, warehouse-style space at 454 Van Brunt St, you know you're in for something serious. The smell alone will make you hungry. I ordered the brisket, beef rib, and jerk baby back ribs, and each one was perfect in its own way. The brisket melts in your mouth with that beautiful bark and smoke ring. The beef rib is massive, tender, and full of deep smoky flavor. And the jerk ribs are a killer twist spicy, sweet, and unbelievably juicy. Their sides are no afterthought either--mac and cheese, baked beans, and collards were all on point. The staff is friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and even if there's a line, it moves fast and it's 110% worth the wait. Red Hook might be a little out of the way, but Hometown makes the trip feel like a pilgrimage. This is hands-down one of the best BBQ spots in New York City. I'll definitely be back again (and again). Highly recommend. Five stars all the way.
