Ordered delivery from here last night. Everything was OK, except one problem; I ordered the lamb shwarma platter, and what I got instead was rice covered with gyros. I am not sure if they genuinely mixed up the two or that's their version of shwarma, but in any case, I was disappointed to see that what I got wasn't exactly what I ordered. With that said, the food was OK; the eggplant on the side was delicious, and the salad and rice complimented the plate well. Portions were generous (see below). Delivery was prompt. I would be open to stopping by here again, but it won't be near the top of my list. read more

Came here during lunch. Although their gyro/schwarma sandwiches looked so good I chose a vegetarian option. Got #4 falafel on the menu. Falafel was fried on the spot (super fresh). You can tell the oil was fresh. Side salad was also super fresh. The hummus was amazing. Pita was also very fresh and toasted to perfection. Under 10 bucks for a tasty lunch. Will be back! Pita Pan is my most ordered restaurant for delivery! I order from them about once a week and am happy with my meal every time. It's a little pricier than I'd expect but they give so much food that my boyfriend and I only have to order one meal to share. We always get the combo platter with chicken kebab and lamb shawarma which comes with rice, salad, a side, and pita bread. This combo is SO good! The sides usually vary-- we often get a corn mixture, and sometimes potatoes which are our favorite. The one downside I will mention is that even though we order the same thing every time, they have occasionally given us a different meat for the lamb shawarma. I wish I could identify what it was, but unfortunately I can't. I just know I love the lamb shawarma too much so it's a bummer when it arrives and it's not the lamb shawarma I'm expecting! Everything is still so good though so we always end up happily eating it anyway lol. read more

I ordered delivery and was not happy with the order. I do not think a single thing delivered to me was fresh. The falafel I got was cold and not tasty and the pita bread that came with it was so hard I just made them into pita chips. But I really think you should know that when someone walks into your place at seven thirty in the evening for the second day in a row and orders your babaghanouj and there's only a tiny little bit left in the tray from who-knows-when and instead of BREAKING OUT A FRESH tray you just SCRAPE everything left into a takeout container and try and PASS IT OFF AS FULL and make your patron ask if you'll just top-up the not-quite-full container from the fresh pan you have ready to replace the old tray and then try and defend your stinginess... it's a little gross. And very bad business. Your food is too good for you to be so sloppy in your treatment of your customers. Everyone recycles the older food. It's not too smart to let your customer know that they are literally getting the bottom of the barrel. Rethink, please. I'm on your side, and want you to be here a long time. Wasn't expecting the rice to be so fancy but, it was well seasoned and fresh. Salad was full of variety of vegetables but, portion was maybe a cupful. Babaganoush was creamy, garlicky, deliciousness. $8 For a pint of the eggplant in the tomatoey sauce. Full of flavor and nice amount of garlic cloves. They included 4 pitas, tahini, and hot sauce. Service and timely prep is so courteous and well executed. Definitely recommend and will return for the great food and service. read more

The delivery man left the food in the lobby without our apartment number or names on the bag, when the doorman was in the bathroom. Our grubhub order instructions said "leave with the doorman" and "call or text" with my phone number. He didn't call or text. He didn't leave it with the doorman. When I called to complaint, an hour after ordering, the guy at Pita Pan called out to "Miguel" to ask about the delivery to our address. He said the guy dropped it off with the doorman. When I called the doorman, he said there was an unlabeled bag on the desk. I went down to get our food, about half an hour after it was delivered. When I asked for a credit, the guy at Pita Pan shirked all responsibility and put it on grubhub, even though "Miguel" whom he spoke with in the restaurant delivered it. Bad delivery. Dinner for 6 bucks?! Count me in! Ordered a chicken kabob pita sandwich to go one night after work. I'm so glad that I did. When I got home 25 minutes later, it was still warm and delicious. Delicious fresh chicken right off the grill, fresh veggies and yummy sauce to go with it on a fresh pita. Awesome. Lots of other great things on the menu. The falafel looked delicious and I really wanted some. This place doesn't look fancy from the outside or the inside but I enjoy no frills places, just great eats. read more

It was love at first falafel... My co-worker Monica introduced me to this place, I figured why not try some thing new for lunch? So I ordered a chicken wrap with falafel and to make it spicy like how Monica insisted. First bite I took and it was delicious, I couldn't stop saying "oh wow this is good". I'm a sucker for corny marketing. I spotted Pita Pan across the street when I first moved to Brooklyn and had to rush in to grab a few bags of treats for my friends/sherpas. Once we got all my stuff moved, we feasted on incredible falafel sandwiches, fava beans, tons of pita/hummus/tahini and grilled veggies. I've been hooked since. The employees are very friendly, and the dining area (while small) is decorated with lights and fake ivy all over the ceiling (kitsch heaven). Love the name of this little hole in the wall... although I didn't get it until I read the sign out loud. So cute. The falafel is good, really good. And for $4.50 you get an overstuffed falafel sandwich (3-4 falafel, lettuce, tomato, tahini in a pita). Either they don't have AC or it wasn't working, because for some reason they had the door open during the 90 degree weather. After having really bad hummus (water-downed) at another eatery in the neighborhood, Pita Pan is my 'go-to' spot for great hummus. After my first tasting, no disappointments, I've been ordering from them ever since! The falafel lunch special with hummus, babaganoush, mixed salad, and two pieces of pita bread is incredible. Also, gotta love the fresh juices and smoothies. I always order the ones with papaya...I can taste the bits of fresh papaya in my drink! Lamb gyro was delicious! The garlic sauce wasn't my favorite, but the lamb really doesn't need anything else for extra flavor. Chicken was on the dry side and while the flavor was good, it wasn't as good as the lamb. Stuffed grapes are also pretty good. read more

4 & 1/2 stars? Maybe I went on an off night? I have only tried their mousaka sandwich. It was huge, but so disgusting and oily and bland that I had to throw it away after a few bites. This place is small but the taste is enormous!!! My recommended plates from this place are the fatuch salad, the vegetarian combos and my super super favorite: the chicken shawarma... It's to die for!!!! The portions are always generous and they have a mini lovely juice bar with great smoothies for those that like to eat healthy. I can't remember now the name of any of the vegetable smoothies but from the fruit ones I really suggest the mango mambo and the banana blue. There are many more all of them really fresh and tasty. I have tried a lot of Mediterranean in my life and unfortunately the food at this restaurant ranks as one of the worst I have ever tried. The lamb platter I had was flavorless and was missing that delicious layer of crispy meat you usually find in other gyro restaurants. The chicken platter with salad was similarly bland. My salad also had 3 fully size jalapeños peppers in it which inexplicably added a spicy flavor to all the lettuce around it. Would not recommend! read more

My Saturday afternoon place. I always stop in for a falafel and hummus wrap and a fresh squeezed lemonade if I'm in the area because it's some of the best falafel around. When it's hot, I can't resist the lemonade - it's seriously good. The guys working are friendly and I tend to use the walk-up window whenever possible. It's a small place and when they get busy it's tough to find somewhere to stand inside. they also have a juicer and tons of vegetarian and vegan options : grilled veggies, grape leaves stuffed with rice, bean salad, fried eggplant, fresh juices, smoothies, tabouli, sauteed cauliflower, hummus, corn salad, avocado salad, etc. Just wish this place was closer to my apartment! read more

Ordered a lamb sharwma sandwich and the falafel w/ hummus and babagonush. The sharwma was nice. The meat was flavored, the pita bread was soft and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. The falefel was also pretty great. The babagonush tasted good but was just a little too creamy (first time trying it so it might be the normal; I wouldn't know). The salad that came with the babagonush had too much vinegarette. Overall I really enjoyed the dishes. I was in a rush and needed something to eat in the 20 minutes before an evening meeting. Pita Pan was the lucky recipient of my affections! Delicious falafel, and my chicken shwarma sandwich was also quite tasty. For those that don't go for traditional middle eastern fare, my boyfriend had a lovely buffalo chicken wrap. As far as I could tell, there wasn't anything that wasn't made to order and the food was quick, good, and cheap (ish, at least, for Park Slope). Good place to take out. I liked my vegetable platter(no.6 with tuna salad) , it was really fresh. I didn't like their hummus though. It was too plain and flavorless. Tabouli is pretty good. Not too salty and definitely fresh. Very quick fix. I haven't tried anything else, so I'll reserve my opinion for next time. read more

What a smile surprise! One day my girlfriend and I were walking down 7th ave looking for food. Oddly enough she started making fun of me for never having falafels before. In the middle of the conversation we happened upon the curiously named "Pita Pan." We walked in and loved how adorably decorated this small little Mediterranean place was! We immediately ordered up two falafels that were to my delight, shaped like burritos (my favorite food)! We also ordered a side of this spicy little chick pea salad that was AMAZING! I had recently went vegetarian about two months prior so all these new flavors were such a shock to me. I love it and my new found love for falafels were born. I ordered a lamb gyro sandwich today at Pita Pan. It tasted great but there was very little meat in it. This is so irritating. I hate skimpy sandwiches. It actually reminded me of a lame sandwich I used to get at Mr. Falafel. I actually stopped patronizing them because I got tired of their small portions. Well guess what? The counter guy informed me while I waited for my order that Pita Pan also owns Mr. Falafel! What a surprise! A word of advice to anyone who is hungry and wants a good gyro, (if you don't mind paying $12.00) purchase two sandwiches, stuff the contents of one into the other, discard the second pita and you'll have a pretty healthy sized sandwich. I discovered this place a week ago and I've already been back twice. So far I've tried the chicken shawarma, the babaganoush, and shish kebab (lamb) sandwiches. They were all top notch and generously portioned too. Like a solid, hefty burrito. My only question is why is the place called PITA pan but they serve all of their sandwiches in a WRAP? Note that it's a question and not a complaint, because you can obviously fit more food in a wrap than a pita. BOOM! They do take a little extra time in preparing your food, so if you're in a hurry you'll be tapping your foot impatiently while watching the gyro rotisserie s l o w l y r o t a t e as if it's mocking you. Humus and chicken kebab to die for. Halal food and Mediterranean places have been popping up all over NYC and especially Brooklyn, but Pita Pan really stands out with their house made humus and meats that they marinate themselves. If you are a vegetarian, this place is perfect for you as well. I had a few months when I was doing a vegetarian diet, and I found my self in Pita Pan every other day. They have fresh made veggie juices, falafel and some amazing babaganouj and humus. The staff is always very friendly, and work extremely fast. I remember one time, i came in, placed my order and by the time I got back from putting money into the meter, my delicious falafel wrap with humus was ready for me to enjoy. Whether you live in the neighborhood, or just visiting I would highly suggest you do yourself a favor and try this place out. Walked in the other day with a friend about 930pm ordered chkn shwarma sandwich and a falafel plate with hummus and baba to go. When we sat down to eat (about 5 min later) the falafel plate was pretty good. Great hummus and baba the falafel balls were extremely tasty but they were not hot, cooler then room temperature at best. The chkn shwarma sandwich ending up being a lamb gyro not sure how you mix up chkn and lamb but it was done. I would let that slide if the place was busy but we were the only people in there, for me thats inexcusable. The sandwich was okay the lamb had a slight little char on it from the grill that gave it great flavor at first bite but was bland as you chew. I would give this place another shot simply for having great falafel balls at room temperature maybe ill get lucky next time and get hot falafel balls :-) read more

I asked for the lunch special (which was good) but was told when the order was ready that the price would be something like 14 bucks. I was surprised and said I thought I asked for the lunch special. The guy behind the doubter told me that is the lunch special, but the price was close to double what the menu advertised, and he told me I had to specify which lunch special, the cheaper one or the more expensive one. The more expensive one comes with more food, sure, but I wasn't asked when I first placed my order. A business that forces you to order certain things without being clear in their intentions is not a business I support. Good luck. read more

Finally traveled here from the Bronx after about a year from hearing about this spot from a friend. I was not disappointed. Very cute family owned business, very welcoming and friendly. The prices are as amazing as the food. My food was hot and fresh. I ordered the lamb on pita (sauce was muy bueno), side of fries (which was a lot), and a drink. Cost me about $12 and i was well beyond full and satisfied. Definitely worth the trip. The location is very homey and intimate for a nice stroll after a good meal. I'll definitely be back. read more
