Came here on a Saturday during lunch time and was seated promptly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, however outdoor seating wasn't available yet. The indoor seating has 7-8 tables. Service was homey and attentive. Started with a Fresh Mint Tea, very refreshing. For appetizers we ordered the Labana and the Beet Salad. Both were very good and a large portion. I ordered delivery from this outpost of Badawi in Park Slope the other night. I absolutely love Mediterranean vegetarian sides, and when I saw the option to get a combo plate, I was very excited. The flavors on a lot of the components were absolutely amazing although I do think overall salt was a little bit lacking in some. The hummus was nice and a good texture, but could be a little thicker and creamier, I found it a little bit to be on the runnier side. The chickpea and spinach salad was my absolute favorite and the crispy onions on top really added an amazing, sweet and crunchy umami layer. I really think it needed a little bit more salt, but otherwise the flavors were absolutely 10 out of 10. I really also enjoyed the beet salad, it was bright and tasted good. A little little bit more olive oil on the beet salad would be really great. I absolutely loved how fresh tasting it was and the seasoning was on point. The bedawi salad needed a little bit of olive oil I think or some sort of light dressing. The feta cheese on the salad was not salty enough like how fresh feta usually is. I didn't think much of the pickled eggplant, it was my first time having this dish and I didn't like the texture of the eggplant. I thought it was a little tough on the outside and there was not enough filling on the inside. It tasted like it was straight out of a jar and not homemade. I think with some slight improvements the food at this establishment is really good. I can't wait to try their chicken Shawarma sandwich down the line. For my birthday I wanted to try somewhere I had not been but that had been on my to try list and Bedawi fit the bill! Having fallen in love with Arabic food in Jerusalem many years ago, I am picky about where I eat it. Bedwai did not disappoint! We ordered a Merguez (ground lamb) Platter and a Chicken Platter. Both the lamb and the chicken were perfectly grilled and flavorfully seasoned. The accompanying baba ghanouj was exceptional and the warm, freshly baked Jordanian style pita bread sealed the deal! The cafe is small and nicely decorated giving patrons, along with the arabic music being played, a sense of being in the middle east. Portions are generous and prices very fair. After checking out reviews online, I decided to try Bedawi Cafe. The food was decent for the price but the salads lacked flavor. I even added my own Sumac and lemon. The Tabouli salad was three stars. The baba ganoush eggplant dip wasn't bad but had a slightly bitter aftertaste. I also tried one of the pita sandwiches. I was actually surprised by the lack of flavor, especially after reading so many glowing reviews. When I looked more closely at the reviews, I noticed some similar opinions about the blandness of the food. I guess if you prefer bland or non spicy food, this might be a good choice. I love Middle Eastern cuisine - I've eaten lots of it over the years - I enjoy the tahini, garlic, lemon, parsley, sumac etc. There were no side sauces included with the sandwich either. That might have helped out with the flavor issue - another restaurant I frequent always includes a small cup of hot sauce on the side. read more

How have I not reviewed this place all this time. Been coming here for over a decade with my then bf/now husband. This place has always been our favorite casual date spot with the wonderful backyard setting. The food is amazing and always so reasonably priced. I almost always get their mix mezze platter, which are fresh and flavorful. The sundried pizza is something you can't miss. For more heavy dishes the merguez platter is authentic and incredible. The staff here are ever so friendly and attentive. It was fun chatting with them through the pandemic and I'm so glad that the business has survived and resumed in person dining! read more

A few friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after seeing good reviews on Yelp. The restaurant was empty except for one couple. The outdoor seating in the back was very cozy and picturesque. We ordered the Spinach Calzone, Lamb Pizza, mixed medley, and the assorted salad with hummus, makdous, baba ghanouj, stuffed grape leaves and labana. The cold salad was refreshing but not very impressive. The spinach calzone was interesting but didn't have much taste. The best thing we ordered was the lamb pizza. It was extremely flavorful and satisfying. The worst thing was the mixed medley with chicken and lamb. The texture of the meat was dry and grainy. I would not recommend it. We moved to Windsor Terrace last year and have been striking out with takeout which is partly why we never order it. But last night we decided to try Bedawi for the first time and I was THRILLED with the food. Every single thing was delicious. The labneh was perfectly tangy, the beet salad so yummy and vinegary. Is a nice place with a back yard in Park slope, with reasonable prices. But the food varies from ok (the salads) to poor (dry falafels) down to horrible (stuffed vine leaves?!). Came here after a failed smorgasboard attempt in prospect park, just remember that event is almost always going to be too expensive and unimpressive. Decided on this spot since it was highly rated. Ordered the 5 mezze appetizer option, spinach pie, lamb pizza and mixed medley. Spinach pie is different from what I'm used to at Greek restaurants but still good nonetheless, it came almost calzone-like with fresh spinach baked inside, tasted fresh and well made. The 5 Mezze option was great and is an awesome way to start off a large group with a restaurant's offering, loved all the items, everything I sampled was above average. Lamb pizza was phenomenal, the lamb bit that they had was spicy and done well, paired extremely well with the cheese, peppers and other toppings. Would have been a 5 star if not for a couple of things. The lamb in the mixed medley was extremely dry, and had a crumbly dust like texture to it, did not enjoy it at all, immediately regretted ordering the item. The other issue was the restaurant was pretty much staffed by one server/waiter/cashier. Came on the weekend and the person seemed pretty disgruntled and inattentive, not the biggest issue but definitely made the vibe a little weird. Really tasty lunch special for ~$9! I got the chicken platter with baba ganoush. Very flavorful chicken and a good portion size as well. The baba ganoush was delicious! I'd definitely recommend it, although I'm sure the hummus is also good. Pita was freshly baked and warm, and the salad was fresh, too, with a good assortment of veggies included. The people that work here are also nice and accommodating. The seasoning of the chicken was very memorable as there were so many great spices that were marinated in the chicken. The rice and salad that comes with each platter is tasty. If you do not want rice, you have the option of ordering a side of the hummus or babaganoush. A hidden gem! This is our favorite restaurant in the Windsor Terrace...really, in the whole Park Slope area. The food is consistently high quality and tasty! My go-to's include creamy hummus, delicious spinach & chickpeas, and tabouleh, but we've ordered just about all the hot & cold appetizers and never are disappointed. The chicken pizza is fantastic--just like I had in Turkey, as are the falafel and mergeuz platters! The service is always excellent and the folks working there are simply lovely. Ambience in the cafe and during the warmer months, in the garden, is inviting with interesting decorations representing middle eastern sites and culture. They both could use the zing of some lemon juice. Hummus could also use garlic. And you could have fooled me if there was dressing on the salad. Stopped by here to get some items for a picnic in the park. Tried the bedawi pizza and the leg of lamb platter. The pizza was decent would have been better if we ate it hot. Good amount of veggie toppings and cheese. The lamb platter was great, really yummy lamb that was tender and juicy and we opted for the baba ganoush as a side which was super creamy and tasty and a great complement with the lamb. The side salad was forgetful and nothing special. It came with a pita which was nice and fluffy. We were totally stuffed and the price was very reasonable. read more

Ahhhh...breathe in the fresh aroma of meaty goodness. What can what say? Only great things about this place. From the vinegary beets to the lemon juice filled dolmadas (rice stuffed grape leaves), I would say there are vegetarian options worth trying. I loved the herbs and spices used on my pizzas. I went with my two friends to battle Settlers of Cattan in their backyard and of course decided to eat first, but where? We chose Bedawi. First, there was an al fresco option. Second, did someone say pizza? Oh yes. We ordered the chicken and lamb pizza which were sooooo decadently good. Could describe how were they good? There was this addictive like quality to it. Maybe it's the level of fattiness in the meat selected and right amount of olive oil? Or just the right amount of natural light in the backyard and the fresh smell of autumn making its way over to our olfactory bulbs on this fine summery day? I am trying to put it into words but probably failing, but I will never give up yelping. Ever. Yes, to describe the pizzas as merely delicious is quite understating. One could tell that the pizzas were generously covered in so much topping that I could only less than half of it. And I was there for 4.5 hours. I eat slow. I know. Well, I need time to talk and then chew and then eat again. Keep that in mind if you get a garlic bread for it will come in pizza size. Lol. I found out the hard way, but I had dinner that night. Thank goodness for leftovers. I will upload some photographs so you can relive my temporary moment in pizza heaven which I visit quite often and it's always a fun time. Let's start with the positive: The ambience is cute. Now let's move on... The first thing we noticed was a sticky table which the waiter informed us was just cleaned before we walked in. We ordered the 5 appetizer sampler with Hummus, the Bedawi salad, beet salad, potatoes and lentils. Well, things looked okay, and tasted like absolutely nothing. We never had a more boring and tasteless hummus. Ever. The various salads tastes like they chopped things up, marinated (maybe) but then washed everything off with water for an hour to make sure that absolutely no taste particle was left. The only thing which kinda-sorta tastes like anything were the beets. But only the very middle portion of every beet. Moving on to our thankfully last (forever) meal at the Bedawi cafe, we ordered the chicken sandwich. Better than the appetizers, but barely. We are trying to think of good things to say about it... The wrap inside aluminum foil was professionally done! The worst part of the whole thing is.....wait for it, drum roll....our clothes, our hair, everything stinks like the inside of this terrible place. read more

This is a fine restaurant with a nice garden in the back. I am not familiar with other restaurants around 15 street that also have this so its nice. In the garden here they light incense and have a lot of greenery. Occasionally you can see a cat walk across the fencing and you have a nice awning over you in case there is rain. It is quite relaxing though in the summer it can be hot during heat waves. Inside things are much more cramped compared to the garden though its still nice. You can see paintings and wall hanging of nice middle eastern fair. It is super dark though and I am not quite sure why that is. Food wise they have a bunch of entrees and middle eastern pizzas. The pizza here is pretty good though expensive. It took the staff here quite a while to make but the crust was so soft and the ingredients were so tasty I wasn't too upset about it. The staff here were very smiley and nice here as well so that helped. Overall Bedawi Cafe is a nice place to eat at. I would definitely come again if I want middle eastern food in a nice clean restaurant. read more

Chicken was meh. House salad was ice berg lettuce with a few things in it. Cucumber salad was just cucumbers and tomatoes. Baba was ok but bland. Beets are canned it seems (maybe that's not a big deal??). And pickled egg plant was just salty vinegar. I don't want to be a jerk but twice now it's just been meh. It must just be bad luck for me? Been thinking about ordering from here for some time now, finally took a gamble, and lost spectacularly. My actual complaint is about the food. It's objectively bad. I got the Chicken Ouzi and Lentil Soup. The soup was bland and tasting slightly of something unpleasant, I couldn't believe someone could mess up lentil soup, but they did. The main disappointment was in the Chicken Ouzi. First of all there was barely any chicken inside this "Bedouin Pie", and it was stuffed with rice heavily flavored by something strong and immensely off putting, I think cardamom? Some very strong spice that you would only come across in infrequently in life - there is about half a pound of it in there. I really tried to eat the thing but gave up and offered it to my wife, she just said "ew... why does it smell like that?". So I threw it all in the trash and ordered a chimichurri steak from a different place. What a disappointment! read more
