Labana

Came here on a Saturday during lunch time and was seated promptly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, however outdoor seating wasn't available yet. The indoor seating has 7-8 tables. Service was homey and attentive. Started with a Fresh Mint Tea, very refreshing. For appetizers we ordered the Labana and the Beet Salad. Both were very good and a large portion. For entrees we ordered the Chicken Platter w/ Hummus and the Lamb Platter w/ Basmati Rice. Both dishes were very flavorful, and again large portion.

I ordered delivery from this outpost of Badawi in Park Slope the other night. I absolutely love Mediterranean vegetarian sides, and when I saw the option to get a combo plate, I was very excited. The flavors on a lot of the components were absolutely amazing although I do think overall salt was a little bit lacking in some. The hummus was nice and a good texture, but could be a little thicker and creamier, I found it a little bit to be on the runnier side. The chickpea and spinach salad was my absolute favorite and the crispy onions on top really added an amazing, sweet and crunchy umami layer. I really think it needed a little bit more salt, but otherwise the flavors were absolutely 10 out of 10. I really also enjoyed the beet salad, it was bright and tasted good. A little little bit more olive oil on the beet salad would be really great. I absolutely loved how fresh tasting it was and the seasoning was on point. The bedawi salad needed a little bit of olive oil I think or some sort of light dressing. The feta cheese on the salad was not salty enough like how fresh feta usually is. I didn't think much of the pickled eggplant, it was my first time having this dish and I didn't like the texture of the eggplant. I thought it was a little tough on the outside and there was not enough filling on the inside. It tasted like it was straight out of a jar and not homemade. I think with some slight improvements the food at this establishment is really good. I can't wait to try their chicken Shawarma sandwich down the line. If you are in the neighborhood, definitely order from here.

Dined in for lunch recently and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We shared the 5 cold appetizers option, the beet salad babaganoush and chickpea spinach salad were stand outs for me. I tried the falafel sandwich and lentil soup and they were sooooooo good! The table shared the leek pizza and it was a hit. Very kind service, we loved it!

For my birthday I wanted to try somewhere I had not been but that had been on my to try list and Bedawi fit the bill! Having fallen in love with Arabic food in Jerusalem many years ago, I am picky about where I eat it. Bedwai did not disappoint! We ordered a Merguez (ground lamb) Platter and a Chicken Platter. Both the lamb and the chicken were perfectly grilled and flavorfully seasoned. The accompanying baba ghanouj was exceptional and the warm, freshly baked Jordanian style pita bread sealed the deal! The cafe is small and nicely decorated giving patrons, along with the arabic music being played, a sense of being in the middle east. Portions are generous and prices very fair. Highly recommend but get there at an off hour because they fill up quickly!

How have I not reviewed this place all this time. Been coming here for over a decade with my then bf/now husband. This place has always been our favorite casual date spot with the wonderful backyard setting. The food is amazing and always so reasonably priced. I almost always get their mix mezze platter, which are fresh and flavorful. The sundried pizza is something you can't miss. For more heavy dishes the merguez platter is authentic and incredible. The staff here are ever so friendly and attentive. It was fun chatting with them through the pandemic and I'm so glad that the business has survived and resumed in person dining!

Spinach and Cheese Pie

A few friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after seeing good reviews on Yelp. The restaurant was empty except for one couple. The outdoor seating in the back was very cozy and picturesque. We ordered the Spinach Calzone, Lamb Pizza, mixed medley, and the assorted salad with hummus, makdous, baba ghanouj, stuffed grape leaves and labana. The cold salad was refreshing but not very impressive. The spinach calzone was interesting but didn't have much taste. The best thing we ordered was the lamb pizza. It was extremely flavorful and satisfying. The worst thing was the mixed medley with chicken and lamb. The texture of the meat was dry and grainy. I would not recommend it. Overall, it was an interesting experience but won't be returning.

Mixed Medley Lamb Pizza

Decently priced and delicious, with a few points that take this down a notch. Came here after a failed smorgasboard attempt in prospect park, just remember that event is almost always going to be too expensive and unimpressive. Decided on this spot since it was highly rated. Ordered the 5 mezze appetizer option, spinach pie, lamb pizza and mixed medley. Spinach pie is different from what I'm used to at Greek restaurants but still good nonetheless, it came almost calzone-like with fresh spinach baked inside, tasted fresh and well made. The 5 Mezze option was great and is an awesome way to start off a large group with a restaurant's offering, loved all the items, everything I sampled was above average. Lamb pizza was phenomenal, the lamb bit that they had was spicy and done well, paired extremely well with the cheese, peppers and other toppings. Would have been a 5 star if not for a couple of things. The lamb in the mixed medley was extremely dry, and had a crumbly dust like texture to it, did not enjoy it at all, immediately regretted ordering the item. The other issue was the restaurant was pretty much staffed by one server/waiter/cashier. Came on the weekend and the person seemed pretty disgruntled and inattentive, not the biggest issue but definitely made the vibe a little weird. Overall a great place for great tasting food at a great price

Chicken lunch platter with baba ganoush, $9.25!
Su-Yee L.

Really tasty lunch special for ~$9! I got the chicken platter with baba ganoush. Very flavorful chicken and a good portion size as well. The baba ganoush was delicious! I'd definitely recommend it, although I'm sure the hummus is also good. Pita was freshly baked and warm, and the salad was fresh, too, with a good assortment of veggies included. A great neighborhood lunch joint for takeout during these covid times. Would love to try something else from here in the future!

The food was good for the price. However I did not appreciate the delivery person arguing with me about a tip.

Walking through, you get a nice view of the kitchen area, seeing where the magic happens: an exciting way to start the experience! My group decided to share a few things, all of which were delicious. The vegetable pizza (or "pitza" as they style it) was a huge hit: we loved the crust, with its resonant notes of olive oil, and the mozzarella cheese could not have been fresher. The olives and peppers delightfully balanced the cheese and tomatoes, making for an irresistible flavor profile and mouthfeel. Seriously, do not underestimate this formidable pie! The chicken platter came loaded with grilled chicken, hummus, and salad, along with warm, freshly baked pita. Perfect option for the person that wants to take their time sampling a variety of foods. The leg of lamb sandwich, meanwhile, is ready to be consumed at whatever pace you deem fit: indeed, one of our party devoured it voraciously, no crumbs left behind. And finally, we also worked our way through the large feta salad, which turns out to actually be an enormous platter of crumbled feta with some diced tomatoes on top. Don't order this expecting a leafy green salad, it's all cheese! BUT, do order it so that you can add some tangy feta to everything else on the table. It really makes the flavors pop. My first impression of Bedouin Tent was excellent. Service was great and the prices are very fair for the area. Whether you're seeking a more traditional Mediterranean meal or something with a fusion twist, this is an awesome spot to consider.

The restaurant was pretty spacious with some outdoor seating as well. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered the small babaganoush, hummus, and 3 sandwiches. The small dips were actually a fairly large portion, we didn't finish either. The sandwiches however were a bit on the smaller size, but they were still tasty! The pricing was fairly reasonable, and the ambiance made for a lovely dinner. I'd definitely come back here if I'm back in the area!

Abdullah is super friendly, very helpful, and was only slightly confused that two men were about to share a lamb shawarma platter as opposed to getting their own separate meals. (What Abdullah did not know is that this was our second lunch of the afternoon - classic bang bang - and we're pretty comfortable with each other.) When it came out, the platter was everything I'd hoped for. A stunning, colorful array of intensely flavorful lamb slices carved off the spit and served over rice and salad, slathered in white and hot sauce, topped with pickled vegetables. To be sure, I regretted having a second lunch, but not because of anything amiss with the food. And I also regretted not getting any baklava, but I'll rectify that next time around.

My family has been going to Mazzat once a year for over 10 years. If we lived closer it would be a…read morelot more often. We live in Jersey and come to Brooklyn every year to get our taxes done. Its become a tradition to go to Mazzat after our tax appt. In all these years not only have we never had a bad meal, but the meal has always been exceptional! Today it was just my wife and I. Our two sons had other plans. Even though it was just us two, we ordered like there were four. We started off with drinks. My wife had the Mango Sunrise and I had a Mojito. Carlos, who does a little bit of everything at Mazzat recommended it and it was the best Mojito I've ever had! Well balanced, the mint stood out and the agave gave it just the right touch of sweetness. Mazzat is a place where food is meant to be shared so we ordered multiple apps and two entrees. We got hummus, merguez (lamb sausage), garlic shrimp and chicken cigars, which you can also order with lamb. All of it came with a basket of soft pita with crispy pita chips added. The hummus has the consistency of Gelato; smooth with the slightest of lemon flavor, drizzled with olive oil and paired perfectly with the pita. Chicken cigars come with an avocado crema that complements the smoky flavor of the chicken inside. Shrimp was fantastic and the merguez equally so. Both come bathed in olive oil and spices, perfect for dipping. My wife had shakshuka because she's a big tomato fan and was very happy with her choice. I got the half marinated chicken which comes with bulghur rice, a side salad and a garlic dipping sauce. The chicken had a deep smoky grilled taste that permeates the meat. It didnt need the dipping sauce but the dipping sauce was a great partner nonetheless. The bulghur rice deserves it's own paragraph to describe it but I'll keep it to buttery, soft and fluffy and unbelievably delicious! We also ordered a fattoush salad which is as good as it gets as far as salads go. We consider Mazzat our favorite restaurant pound for pound. When it comes to food quality, quantity, value, freshness, service and atmosphere, you'll be hard pressed to get any better than Mazzat. Apologies for the long read but I feel you have to give a restaurant like Mazzat it's kudos and that just won't happen thoroughly in a one paragraph review.
