It's a Southern Cultural thing at least here in the Piedmont of NC. Out taking pictures in Salisbury, I passed by a vintage Krispy Kreme from back in the early days. At least from the 1970's if not before The Magic and sometimes Mystical " Hot" sign was lit. All of us have had donuts. Some like the DD Cakes Style while others here in the South prefer the Greensboro based Krispy Kreme. Nice sugar glaze with a light airy texture and a great taste, they are loved but they are not the ultimate. The ultimate is when you have a KK that is not just a retailer but also a baker and they cook their own Doughnuts. When the first come off the line, they light up a "Hot" sign which is a beacon to Doughnut lovers. There is nothing like a KK doughnut just out of the fryer. Don't know what being hot and just out of the fryer but the resulting product is unbelievable. I was taking photographs when I passed by this location and the sign was on and I went back and got a dozen. Used to do this a lot back in the '70's when they had a store on Independence Blvd in Charlotte and that was always a treat. I used to LOVE the lemon custard filled doughnuts and it was my family favorite. Everyone I know loved them. After not splurging on sweets for a good while, my husband decided to go pick up some Krispy Kreme. He came back with six doughnuts, none of which were lemon!! I tried the new banana pudding one and it was disgustingly nasty. I hate chocolate ones so I passed on the Oreo ones that looked like dirt. I'm scared to try any more of them because the new flavor selections all look bad. I guess I'll have to just have fond memories of days gone by, because I'll never be back. read more

Love coming to this Krispy Kreme! The doughnuts are always good! However make sure to check your boxes when ordering through the drive thru. It seems everytime something is mixed up and it's not fun getting home to realize something with cinnamon has touched the doughnuts when I have a cinnamon allergy and every doughnut is now contaminated and I cannot eat them. Also Christi needs to not be at the drive thru because she is hands down one of the rudest employees KK has ever had and I've been coming here for 25 years it's about to the point if I hear her voice on the intercom I'm going to just drive off and go elsewhere. Yum!!!!!!!!!! There really is nothing else to say. Hot, fresh & amazing! And the Pumpkin Spice donut is delicious! A cake-like donut, not like the regular ones, but the perfect blend of pumpkin & spice that might even win over non-pumpkin spice folks! Perfect with a hot cup of coffee. The store itself is terribly tiny, but does have a few tables & seating. Bright, clean, and very efficient. The line may go out the door, but don't let that deter you - you might spend 5 minutes in line if that. Narrow parking lot, but lots of spaces around the side and in back. My diet was going really well this year, then the pandemic hit. I got a free dozen coupon for my birthday, so naturally I found an excuse to get my Krispy Kreme fix. We used to have Krispy Kreme in NY, but then the stores closed up there. So I was very excited to move to the epicenter of Krispy Kreme here in the Triad area. As far as mass produced doughnuts go, these are the best out there. They're better than most fresh baked ones too that I've had from "gourmet" bakeries. I haven't found a better doughnut, but I'm willing to continue my research! This Krispy Kreme shoppe in particular is a tiny lot located in Salisbury. It was only open for drive thru and curbside service, and so it was deceptively busy because of the lack of lot space. I had ordered ahead on the app, so I parked illegally in a disabled spot and made a beeline for the door. Got my 2 dozen and off we go! Yes, the hot now light was on, too! My favs are the OG glazed, OG filled, and raspberry iced. Glad to see the quality hasn't suffered one bit! Can't say I feel my best the next morning, but I always come back for more. read more

Terrible place to work. They hire you don't give out employee numbers to clock you in till three days later then they work you for 12 hrs straight with no break times and there's barely any communication to address these issues. They don't even train properly or show you any kind of videos. They don't tell you the work schedules and still expect you to show up. Then when you have a family emergency you're accused of being unreliable. All this drama for only 10.00 an hr. It's not worth it to work there much better places that are paying more and supervisors that actually treat employees with respect. read more

I love Krispy Kreme and always visit when I can. There wasn't a line, which was surprising since a dozen donuts are $4.99 today. When inquiring about the dulce beverage, the cashier said that I was a mix of caramel and vanilla. The dulce drink was very disgusting. It tasted very salty and bad. Quick stop in for a couple dozen donuts - impressed with the amount of business flowing through this location, but the fact that the donuts were still warm by the time we got them to work was even better. Still not as good as the flavor. The inside was in decent shape with a lot of "to go" orders waiting for picky up - good things it's really not a dine in shop as those orders took up a lot of space. They also sell some cool KK hats, but no matter how many dozen donuts I buy - there is never a discount on the hats :( However, those cool paper KK hats are free and some folks like myself can really "rock" those hats. read more

These are our hometown doughnuts (although have expanded a lot to other areas now). They are airy like a cloud versus the cake style. When hot, they literally just melt in your mouth. Watch the sign. When the sign light is on, they've just pulled hot doughnuts. That's when they are the very best. Only the basic doughnut is served hot as the others have things added on top or are filled. There are a variety of flavors. My favorites besides the hot plain are chocolate covered and lemon filled. Sometimes they have Cheerwine crème filled doughnuts, and Cheerwine is the local soda (or pop). Those are really good, and you get a double taste of the area. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I will always get a Krispy Kreme now and then especially if I see the hot doughnut sign on. read more

I just stopped in on a whim. Trying to avoid junk food! I decided to pick up some donuts to take to a friend. I knew there would be a specialty donut available for the season. I found two! NY cheesecake...which I liked and the pumpkin spice. I didn't really taste the pumpkin. I like the glazed raspberry filled, and the blueberry cake. I am disappointed in price. It has gone up almost $5.00 since my last visit, for a dozen donuts. The boxes are dangerous to hold one-handed...I almost lost the whole batch, when trying to open a door. Clerk was friendly, helpful with explaining what was in several of the donuts. Some came fresh from the ovens! I haven't tried any of their drinks, due to the prices. read more

What else can you say about Krispy Kreme donuts but simply the best. Doesn't matter the location - same quality!!

The key with this location is to not be in a hurry. The doughnuts are doughnuts which are amazing. I do not need anything too fancy an original will do. My advice is give yourself ample time when picking up doughnuts at this place because the drive thru takes forever it seems like they have a preference for helping people inside first. read more

I seriously want Krispy Kreme all the time, this one has great customer service! A little slow at times but it's worth it!
