I met some friends here for lunch, Salisbury was around the halfway point for us and I had no idea what to expect but this place was great. Plenty of room for a big group and it was perfect for our group to catch up and not be rushed. The food was delicious I got a sushi roll I forget what it was called but it had crab salad in it which was delicious. The crab wontons were wonderful. For dessert I got the banana coins and they were so good! The service was friendly and quick. I would definitely like to go back here. read more

We met at Bangkok for our youngest son's birthday. We had 8 in our party. We walked in just a little late and they had about 4 different plates of appetizers on our table. As we decided on our meal our waitress did a great job of keeping water and tea on our table plus any type of sauces we asked for to dip our egg rolls and spring rolls and Crab dragons (one of my favorites). Our oldest son and his girlfriend was enjoyed the Sushi. Our youngest had ordered a bowl of chicken and rice soup with scallions. I noticed he was letting it cool so I got me a spoonful and in my older years I can't handle a lot of salt in or on my food. And his soup definitely had to much. As our food was being our daughter in-law had a bowl of egg drop soup. Something I also enjoy. But she took about two spoons full and pushed it to the side. I started to put my spoon in and she warned me that it was extremely Salty. So I took her word for it. The waitress took it off the bill. I had ordered Hibachi steak and shrimp. My steak was as tuff as it could be. The shrimp were okay but nothing to write home about. So with in a two week span my wife and I spent over 100 dollars on food from two different restaurants in Salisbury that unless we just happened to hit on an off day we were very disappointed in our food. We have dined at Bangkok several times over the years it's been at this location and been very pleased with our meal. But last night we were disappointed. read more

Met a co-worker here for lunch and had an excellent experience! The building and atmosphere are really nice, and the service was great. I ordered the drunken noodles--absolutely delicious--and we shared a chicken skewer appetizer that was also very good. Parking was surprisingly easy for a downtown spot. Highly recommend! read more

Hubs and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. We'd never been but it came highly recommended from friends. A short wait of 15 mins, but NBD. Once seated, we did *love* that the two person tables along the wall are so close to one another. We could basically hear the couples next to use entire convo. We ordered the crab rangoons as an app and they were so freakin good. As pictured, we got a solider roll and sesame chicken for our entrees and they were really good! Despite the less than ideal seating arrangements, the service was great, our food was delicious and we'll definitely be back! read more

Bangkok has been in Salisbury forever, but I have just never made my way there. However, I was rather disappointed. We started with Crab Rangoons and my husband got "crab meat soup." The rangoons were chewy and tasted re-fried, the soup looked like broth with a stick of imitation crab. My husband enjoy the soup anyway, but I was soooo disappointed in the rangoons, especially when there are other places in town that make them wonderfully. As for food I got the crunchy shrimp sushi and it was delicious! There are few choices in Salisbury for sushi, so I was quite pleased that it was so yummy. My husband got the Bangkok hibachi special. He is an easy going fellow, so he enjoyed his meal. I also ordered a blue motorcycle drink, which took some time to arrive and I believe it was because they didn't have a bartender. It truly tasted like they gave me purely liquor with a splash of blue curaçao. (Some may like this, but not me) really expensive to not to have been able to eat. Lastly, I do NOT like how close the seats are to one another. The gal beside us could 100% hear any and all things we talked about and likewise. Overall, we will likely not go back unless it is for sushi! read more

Good corner restaurant in downtown area. Tons of free parking cars place. Ambience and service was pretty gooIf you are looking for a good quality fresh Sushi, this is a great place. Took $100 chef's sushi boat and it was super amazing. So worth the value !!! Everyone loved it !! Fried Thai spring rolls were ok, should have ordered healthier fresh spring rolls. Massaman curry with Rice was more on the sweeter side and Pho was just ok. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Bangkok Downtown. It's one of the few places in the area that offers sushi alongside Thai-inspired options, which already makes it stand out. The food was excellent--fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The sushi in particular was a pleasant surprise, both in quality and presentation. Everything felt thoughtfully made rather than rushed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, striking a nice balance between casual and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and actually take your time without feeling pressured. Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. From start to finish, the visit felt smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Bangkok Downtown delivers a great combination of food, atmosphere, and experience. I'd definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a solid meal in a relaxed setting--especially if you're craving sushi in an unexpected spot. read more

I've suddenly become a sushi fan and I wanted to try some while in Salisbury and I read rave reviews about this place. They did NOT disappoint. The sushi is amazing and super fast. I tried the soldier role which was a really amazing roll. But I wanted just a little more (becoming addicted to sushi can you tell?) and I tried the Crunch Roll. They were both so good and tasted so good! I will be back to try many more. They have a very large menu of sushi and I want to try a lot of others. Wonderful experience and great atmosphere inside! read more

Returned here again after the first meal, and ordered the exact same things! The food is delicious, portions are plentiful, and the service has been very prompt and friendly. The spice level is no joke- I get a 3 and it's exactly hot enough for me. My boyfriend gets a 4 and he sweats a bit before finishing his meal (perfect heat for him) We don't make it to Salisbury often, but now we plan our visit around a meal at Bangkok! read more

My first time going and I am impressed. The food was excellent. I got the chicken teriyaki with mushrooms and onions. I absolutely love the shrimp sauce. It may be quite possibly my all time favorite. I don't eat sushi but my family does and they said everything was outstanding. The restaurant itself was warm and inviting and the employees were wonderful. read more

We ate here for a family birthday. It was very good and even my picky eaters chowed!!! I had the beef fried rice. It was a little peppery but not horrible. My kids had the egg drop soup and honestly the best I've had anywhere! Lots of starting and very friendly servers. read more

Delicious food and very nice environment. Server was very quiet and host was a little slow seating but overall went well.

This is a neat little spot in Downtown Salisbury. We enjoyed a nice dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived right at 5PM and were able to get a table for 4 immediately. Our server was very helpful in guiding us to choose some sushi rolls (see pic). Given the name of the restaurant, maybe we should have gone for Thai food instead. The sushi was just ok. Not bad, but not great. We would give the restaurant another try next time in town. Average rating was really do to the sushi being "average". Nice "old" downtown feel. Plenty of street parking available for free. read more

Good spot in downtown Salisbury for some great Thai! I was driving through for work and saw there was a Thai place and had to check it out. The server recommended Penang curry and I was so happy she did. This Penang curry was very rich which was a nice difference from a runny soupy curry. Great food at a good price read more

I had to go to the corrupt Rowan County Courthouse to pay a fine. Those people can kick rocks. Back to this review, great local restaurant for Asian/Thai food. Aerobics was quick, I like the vibe of the place, friendly service and the food came quickly. I got a level 2 out of 5 spicy for my Chicken Pad Thai which was perfect. I've had better before but it was fresh and still tasty. I would definitely eat here again but hopefully I won't because that means I'm back at this courthouse. I hope you enjoy! read more

Food quality has diminished tremendously, sesame chicken should be easy but it wasn't for them. Cushions were tattered, tables tops were noticeably damaged, public areas needed lots of attention. Service was pleasant considering our complaints, which we never do, yet the price was still that of the very nice restaurant it used to be. They comped two of our meals trying to rectify the situation with our out of town guests, but people should know that it is not the restaurant we used to love to go to for special occasions. read more

This place is absolutely adorable inside. They decorated wonderfully and the staff was very kind. Nothing that we had here was absolutely incredible and that we'd necessarily have to make a trip back for. The egg rolls, vegetable roll, and curry were all quite good but average. The fried rice however was absolutely terrible. The smell of the rice almost took my appetite alone. Have you ever walked into a pet store and smelled the bedding that hamsters are in....? Literally the same smell. For some reason I thought maybe I just needed to get over the smell and try it but that was a terrible mistake. That alone will most definitely keep us from returning. It was just such an unsettling smell/taste, something wasn't right. read more

The service is truly bad, I got served rudely on my table with no smile from the waitress. My food came in 30 minutes late and I was not even offered to go box when I had a lot of leftover. The food was okay, it's not authentic, one of the worst place I've been. I won't recommend this and will not go back. There's plenty of better places around and they need to work on their customer service skills.. read more

Never go to Salisbury for much but a friend suggested this place so I drive 40 mins ! In downtown and I was happy to find parking right in front. Confused as to which door leads to the restaurant but figured it out. Really nice big place. With a bar and then seating socially distanced . Huge sushi menu and great menu in general. Wines not so much great choices so went with the gin and Tonic and my friend had the Bloody Mary. Both made well. They brought us some egg drop soup first which was yum. Chose to start with the sexy roll , had in it avocado, crab and tuna and topped with spicy tuna. Very sexy lol. Looked fabulous and was delicious. Very good sushi. Went with the pad gra Pow , veggies with chicken on a great spicy basil sauce. With rice. This was fantastic. I chose level 4 spice and it was spicy but a good made my nose run a little kinda spicy. Loved this. Get this if you like basil too My friend got the Bangkok special hibachi. Lots of shrimp, scallops, steak a d chicken in this mix. Comes with fried rice and veggies . Massive plate of food! She said it was awesome. So much variety in one plate. So far everything is excellent. The dessert menu all Asian of course. Homemade coconut ice cream seemed like a good choice and the fried Thai doughnuts . The ice cream was disappointing as in it tasted just like plain vanilla. No coconut flavor at all or any fresh coconut in it. The doughnuts on the other hand were awesome . Nice small not too oily and crunchy outside and soft and cakey inside. I love this type of doughnut where a couple of bites is plenty ! Great little spot in Salisbury. Other than the ice cream everything was amazing . Love Thai food ! read more

I was set on Yummy Bahn Mi, but they're closed on Sunday. So the family and I stumbled into this place instead. We definitely weren't disappointed! We really liked what we ordered! Thai fried spring rolls were delightful as well as the Thai bangkok wings, which had the right amount of spice. Homemade sauces, that accompanied dishes were, were delicious. You can really tell the difference when it is made fresh, in-house. The main course was Pad See Ew with beef and shrimp. We found this on Yelp as we were passing through the area. Based on the reviews, we decided to try it. I had the Hibachi chicken which was very flavorful. Others had teriyaki chicken and steak, also really enjoyed. My younger son had the sesame chicken and did not love it, but probably more because he was expecting the American takeout version.
