I rarely get anything other than Zhou's Chicken (nom nom nom!) but my husband changes up his order frequently and whether you get my usual (Chicken sooo good!) or try the pineapple fried rice, curry noodles, or Pho you can't go wrong! Also you have to get the fried rice! SOOOO GOOD! The food feels light and tastes fresh! It usually takes 20-30 minutes on the weekend for the order to be made (sometimes longer if they're busy!) but I'll happily wait the time for good food. Ly Cuisine is one of the best restaurants in Albemarle. It's in a humble location but the place is clean and the Thai food is very fresh. Their website menu has improved to include a better description of their entrees. They do pick-up orders only, because of COVID, but they will soon open their small dining room again. The Hanoi Noodles are so fresh and delicious. I like their Dragon Noodles with chicken and mushrooms. You can choose how much spicy "heat" you want. I'm so bglad to finally have the opportunity to eat here. Zoua is very quick and attentive and came to talk to us like we were part of her family. My friends asked for the special they always get and she knew exactly what it was. I asked for something I had seen on Facebook, and sure enough the Scorpion Chicken over fried rice was spicy, loaded with meats and veggies, and delicious. No frills menu- to the point- with a variety of authentic dishes. This is a family run establishment, and they were very knowledgeable with explaining the options. The food is reasonably priced, good portions, and really quite delicious. For the veggie lover, the veggie options come with ample vegetables (that may sound silly but youd be surprised by how few vegetables come in no-meat dishes a lot of times). I must admit, I was a little thrown off upon walking into the restaurant; the decor is lacking, resulting in a just-moved-in or in-the-process-of-moving-out kind of feel. Pleasantly surprised, it was a nice sit down restaurant with great Thai food (one of my favorite cuisines). Could use a remodel inside and they didn't have much dinning space. I stopped in here for lunch while doing some business in the area. I was starving and this place was a well rated Thai and one of most heavily reviewed places in Albemarle, so I gave it a shot. The place is a family run business and the service was great. They have a following... the owner / waitress told me that it was standing room only on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. I had the Tom Yum with shrimp which ranked among the best I've had. For my main entrée I had the red curry with chicken. The combination of flavors was fantastic, light and just the right amount of spicy with a hint of nutmeg (I think). Everything was fresh and cooked just right. read more

This is a pearl that is hidden away in a building that could be called a strip mall, but it was built before there were such things. Located in an area the locals call "Happy Holler" the restaurant is the classic "Hole in the Wall". I have noticed that even when they forget to turn on their simple neon sign out front, the place always has customers. Everyone I have talked to has positive comments about the place! The last few times the service has gotten worse and worse the last time we waited well over 45 mins. and watched table after table come in and get their order before us, finally they bring our fresh rolls and then as we wait 10 more minutes the lady running the place comes out to inform us they have no Thai basil well ok they had not even started our order it was very disappointing. Almost drove right past and I'm SO glad I went back! The food was outstanding. Meatballs wrapped in basil leaves were a great appetizer and I followed up with Pad Khing. They grind their own peppers right there, so you get exactly the level of spice you want. The chef (and owner, I think) incorporated items straight from the garden and seemed very flexible if customers wanted to adjust their dishes. If you're looking for a fancy place to eat don't look to Ly Cuisine. But if you want some of the best Thai food you can find in NC, this is the place to go. We have lived in Stanly County for about 18 months and until a couple of months ago never heard of nor saw Ly Cuisine. Its tucked away in a nondescript group of buildings just south of the hospital. If you don't watch closely you'll drive by without seeing it. The restaurant is small seating about 15 -20 people. The staff is mostly family, and the owner and often the cook is Zoua. We have found that Zoua likes to speak with her customers and get to know them, often offering great suggestions. The food is authentic Thai, with many of the standards you would expect. We discovered Ly Cuisine, a couple of months ago and have eaten there 4 times, joined by another couple that also enjoys Thai food. Regardless of what all of us order we have never been disappointed. This is a hidden gem in the city of Albemarle. read more
