Presentation was adequate but on Styrofoam plate for dine in with plastic fork. Considering that place wasn't super busy but rather slow, the tables could have been cleaner and more aligned. First table saw coming in needed touchup. I informed order taker at counter that could use attention as doesn't create the best 1st impression. She handled it after taking my order. Pleasant but possibly shy, on the quite side so hard to read emotion. So details could improve impression, for example table , chair orientation could be sharpened during quite times. Not sensing abundance of energy on the front end operations, kitchen seems more energetic. Plenty of natural light (windows) and basic outside seating option are pluses. Also drive through window seemed amply busy. Can see the kitchen and they appear on it. Loved the wall murals. Prices reasonable considering prices at all places are up and bit higher than here. I got noodle hibachi chicken. The chicken looked good with seasoning but not overly flavorful, not tender (possibly on the the bit dry side which is okay when think it can translate to being on the safer to eat scale) when eat, so adequate. Noodles and carrots also adequate also. Again all together my 1st experience at this location equates to eat cause hungry place. So middle of the road experience seems to be the design, don't expect exceptional flair that some Japanese restaurants go for. No great entertainment value. But did I get value for the price, yes. Could I eat here again, yes. Would I crave this place if treating myself was the object, not as much. Do I leave satisfied answer is adequate yes. -- P. S: Parking lot has ample spaces, drive through does good volume, though cramped amount of pavement for it that butts up to neighboring business. Good location on main road (INNES) going into Historic Downtown Salisbury and not far off of I-85. So super convenient that way.

Not a good lunch experience for me. The service was good over the telephone. Thanks for that. The ambiance of the restaurant was bright, but quiet. Needs some revisions to bring about life to it. The folks running the place were very warm and welcoming. The only thing I did see was that many of the tables still had used dishes and there were only 2-3 couples there eating and that left only a few spots to pick from to sit. Not sure if the busboy was out sick or if they pulled in all the dishes at once but I had not seen this before. I ordered the Philly sushi roll and teriyaki chicken and sweet carrots. First the sushi roll - it was fresh and the flavor was really good. I was very impressed with it and would eat their sushi over and over for sure. As for the teriyaki, you can even tell in the picture that the chicken looked like big blocks of chicken breast and it was tougher than I would have wanted. I'm quite the teriyaki chicken eater at many Japanese restaurants so I know I'm probably a little more critical than most. But it just wasn't tender and as flavorful as I have seen almost everywhere else. The sweet carrots were not very sweet and I really look for carrots that are soft but not super soft. These were more crispy and not soft much at all. The shrimp sauce was not like most that I've had. I'm not sure how to explain how it was different. But it seemed more white like ranch than the orange/pinkish color you see at most places. It hurts me to write a review like this. Especially when it's not a 4 or 5. And most especially since the people were so warm and welcoming. I have no doubts that if I had complained, they would have tried to fix things but I didn't feel that was fair to them.

Even American-style Chinese food (ACF). This place was a strong win for ACF for us- including great food portion size, quality, price & all. Got a summer cold & wanted soup within reasonable driving distance. (The places closest to us are unappetizing or grossly unclean- not this place!) Chose this location for its variety of soups & fuller menu. Order was: an egg drop wonton soup (soothing and filling) a hot and sour soup (quality ingredients) crab rangoon (wonton cream cheese crisps with sizeable side of dipping sauce) and a truly EXCELLENT spicy sweet orange beef. ***Healthy portion sizes for the price*** Spouse commented that the entree was almost all beef with a little broccoli & that the beef was not "weird"- that's high praise. I could see red chili pepper slivers & orange peel along with the minimal broccoli. Nice flavors. Ambiance: Was not the one who picked up the meal but heard it was more of a to-go rather than sit down place. Service: Very friendly in-store service & ordering over the phone was easy, quick. I value an easy phone call over using an app to order when pics of food are not available online. Note: we took no pics bc we were just that hungry. But I will take pics next time for y'all. And there will be a next time...just less soup!
