    China Ming Buffet, Lexington

Arriving at 1pm on a weekday, the buffet was still well stocked and had a nice variety of proteins. Beef and broccoli, chicken and broccoli, chicken for sweet & sour, General Tsao's chicken, chow mein and mei fun and other noodles, egg rolls and more. I had no problem finding items that were not deep fried and not loaded in sauce to make a filling lunch. And for dessert, an ice cream sandwich from the cooler was a delight. It's not a huge variety with only two steam tables but they do a good job and I'd eat here again. [Review 2175 of 2024 - 3832 in North Carolina - 23194 overall]

Today was my first and last time trying this place. I ordered takeout. The food was extremely dry and almost flavorless. My dad got the shrimp lo mein and said it was not good and really dry. My general Tao's chicken was more like dried jerky with almost no sauce. Lo mein noodles were also very dry even after adding soy sauce. The "egg rolls" only had one single strand of cabbage in each one. Even my dog (80lb German Shepherd) refused to eat the egg roll. She ate some chicken but then started hacking immediately afterwards. Guess it was too dry for her too. Wish I would've read some reviews before I decided to go here. I've lived here (Lexington NC) my whole (39yrs) life and never knew this restaurant even existed. I guess maybe there was a reason for that. Panda Panda is wayyy better!!

@ryantrahan #ryantrahan In the spirit of Ryan, at the request of our granddaughter who follows Ryan Trahan, we are going to give a 5 star review to an average reviewed restaurant. The jello was on point. Didn't see Oliver Tree or anyone famous but the server was friendly and attentive. A typical Chinese buffet with several tasty dishes. They kept the buffet filled and hot. Seems very popular for takeout.

Foil that on breaded and fried with my chicken wing.

Not the worst but far from the best. White rice smelled weird, some of the meats were dry.

This was a very nice version, with just the minimal items included, chicken & onions & green pepper! It came with Vegetable Fried Rice that was as exceptional as that I had on my first visit. I'll be back to try more items on their broad menu - the Tai Chin Chicken can be a very nice dish.

Enter China Two, with their convenient open on Monday hours! Online ordering was very easy, with a clear menu and simple process. I placed my order for pickup and headed that way. There isn't much to the store, with only a few tables inside. This is clearly a place focused on take out, and that's okay. Pick up was just as easy as ordering. The important bit: the food is great. We had the hunan roast pork and vegetable lo mein, and both servings were generous in quantity. The flavor and quality of ingredients was very good. The egg rolls were crispy and large, and based on my experience working in a Chinese restaurant years ago, I suspect their egg rolls are made in house. Go satisfy those Monday cravings (or any other day of the week) and enjoy some takeout!

I used to like this place a LOT, but it has gone down hill since COVID. They raised their prices…read moretwice and are cutting down on what you get. Inflation with shrinkflation really gets my neck red. Their hot and sour soup is full flavored, but has very few veggies or other ingredients in it. Also, they screw up the order often and act like they don't know English. When they screwed up my wife's Happy Family without pork they did not pur shrimp in the dish when the menu says that it has it. When I called to complain she acted put out. I am twenty minutes from this place so to drive there because of their mistake is not acceptable. Then, when I got there expecting to get a new Happy Family to take to my wife, they gave me a little cup with the shrimp that they forgot. Probably not going to order from here any more.

It was dirty and that should say enough. My. husband and I ordered separate dishes and neither one of them were things we would order again. I mean, how difficult is it to get fried rice correct or fried shrimp. Now my husband is more of a gourmet when it comes to this kind of food and although he finished it he said it wasn't worth coming back for. But the ultimate for me was when the owner came running after us to come back and bus our table. Yet our food was served to us on paper plates after we had to get our own napkins. And no condiments on the table. I asked for salt and was given a small amount in a plastic container and prices were cheap.... While there 2 take out customers return with problems so I'd say they didn't fare any better than us.
