This was a very nice version, with just the minimal items included, chicken & onions & green pepper! It came with Vegetable Fried Rice that was as exceptional as that I had on my first visit. Enter China Two, with their convenient open on Monday hours! Online ordering was very easy, with a clear menu and simple process. I placed my order for pickup and headed that way. There isn't much to the store, with only a few tables inside. This is clearly a place focused on take out, and that's okay. Pick up was just as easy as ordering. The important bit: the food is great. We had the hunan roast pork and vegetable lo mein, and both servings were generous in quantity. The flavor and quality of ingredients was very good. The egg rolls were crispy and large, and based on my experience working in a Chinese restaurant years ago, I suspect their egg rolls are made in house. Go satisfy those Monday cravings (or any other day of the week) and enjoy some takeout!

The menu has a great mix of familiar Chinese dishes alongside more traditional regional specialties, and it's clear the restaurant isn't afraid to lean into bold, spicy flavors. The ambiance is cozy. It looks like they turned an old Biscuitville into the dining space, which is quite charming. We ordered quite a few dishes, including the steamed soup dumplings, ox tongue and tripe with chili sauce, Singapore mei fun, intestine with chili pepper, mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and the intestine noodle. Everything was well prepared, but the standout was how the restaurant balances more "American Chinese" flavors while also staying true to some more traditional chinese flavors as well. The chili-forward dishes had plenty of heat without overpowering the other flavors, and each dish had its own distinct character. The ox tongue and tripe appetizer and the intestine dishes were great options if you're looking to try something a little more traditional. The portions were generous, making it a great place to order several dishes and share with the table. If you're used to American Chinese food, this menu offers a chance to branch out and try something different while still having plenty of familiar options available. If there is a dish I would not order again, it would probably be the soup dumplings. They tasted just like the store bought frozen variety that you can steam at home. Nonetheless, New Sichuan Restaurant is well worth a visit if you're desiring flavors that somewhat lean towards more traditional Sichuan cooking.

The spicy wontons were room temperature, and I'm not sure if they're supposed to be, but they were the only thing we haven't loved. I was with a party of six and when it was time to pay the payment screen was not turned towards us and we were simply told our individual totals. We were not given itemized receipts. My beef pho was listed as 14.99 on the menu and I ordered a sweet tea, but my total was 23.69. After several people in our group noticed that their total seemed higher than expected, I asked about it and was then told that the gratuity was included. That was not explained to us before payment, and without an itemized receipt we had no way to see the drink price, tax, gratuity percentage, or how the total was calculated. There was one person in the group who ordered something for $14 and her total came out to $28! I don't have an issue with automatic gratuity and I consider myself a good tipper, but the lack of transparency of providing an itemized receipt made me question their integrity. Not sure if I will come back here which is sad because there's not many options here in Lexington for pho. The beef pho was very good by the way!
