I'll start off by saying I appreciate how clean this place is. I walked in on a Sunday evening at almost 8pm and the place was spotless. Food was fresh, service was cheerful. My food was well packaged. By far the best egg roll I've ever had. The fried rice could've used more flavor, but nothing a little soy sauce couldn't fix. And it's right next to my food lion, only 5 mins from the house. This place will surely be a go-to.

Enough veggies to say they were in there. I added a couple of eggs and some soy sauce when I got home and tried it to make it taste like something. Again, no chicken in the chicken fried rice. I ordered beef and broccoli and asked if I could pay for extra beef (and was told yes and I DID pay for it.) Things I don't understand: how come it was in the same sized box as a regular order if you added extra beef? How come the extra beef was chicken (?!?!)? The beef was almost soggy the chicken ("extra beef") wasn't beef. Not sure I'm going to go back but thought I would at least tip off other people to check your orders before you leave the building.

It is your typical Chinese takeout spot with all of the standard items. I was first impressed by how clean it was! I used the restroom while I was there and it was spotless. I ordered wonton soup and dumplings. The wonton soup was good, I could tell the wontons were homemade which I very much enjoyed. The skin of the wontons was a bit thick. I thought the steamed dumplings were the star of the show. I've had A LOT of dumplings at some very good places and these were honestly some of the best I've tried. On my first bite I literally was like wow! They came out fast as well.

Not sure how old the interior photos are on their Yelp reviews but looks better in person. Dude running the place was waiting on tables, answering the phones, taking orders at the front, bossing people around in the back and bringing the food out of the kitchen and serving it HOT! He was a one man show today and killing it! Plus he was so nice. About the food. I ordered an Eggroll and Curry Chicken with fried rice. The eggroll was not the best I've had but it was good. It tasted fresh and no signs of the red pork that you sometimes get (thumbs up).The Curry Chicken sauce was really good. The chicken was nice and tender, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. My only complaint would be to not serve green peppers with the yellow curry sauce. It's my own personal preference because peppers give me heartburn. I will go back for sure to try some other dishes and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for relaxing ambiance and fresh, delicious Chinese cuisine.

We didn't order them this time, but they're definitely on the list for a future visit. Everything we did get was packed with flavor. The crab rangoons and pork dumplings arrived hot and fresh, and the Dan Dan noodles, orange chicken, chicken chow fun, and garlic beef were all very tasty. One of the biggest positives here is consistency of flavor, something that's been surprisingly hard to find with a lot of Chinese takeout spots we've tried in the area. The only real miss for us is that egg foo young isn't on the menu, which my wife loves and always hopes to find. That aside, this is a super solid takeout option for flavorful, authentic, and fresh Chinese food.

Well dang, what a surprise this place was! We have a clear cut favorite Chinese take-out place…read morenormally, but the rest of Greensboro ALSO has that same favorite (IYKYK) and on peak nights, the wait can sometimes be more than an hour, so we needed a backup. I like a place in Jamestown that is a little closer, but my wife doesn't like their noods quite as much, so I suggested we try this place that was just a little farther. The only negative I have for this place, is it is located in a SKETCHY shopping center. Ever since the Food Lion moved out (there's always a Food Lion), the amount of light in this parking lot is extremely low. At night, it doesn't present well, but really, it's fine. Just stay alert, and with the low amount of cars, you can just pull up in front of the restaurant where it is more well-lit. The food though. YES. Great portions, reasonably priced, and as another reviewer mentioned, you'll find more meat and maybe even better meat, in your orders than at other places for the most part. We kept this first order basic. Orange chicken, beef lo mein, steamed dumplings, and crab rangoons. Kind of our basis for comparison to all other places. The orange chicken, first thing you notice, big pop of zesty orange flavor. Check. Next thing you notice and I would say even makes it better than our favorite... much lighter thinner breading on the chicken chunks. This means more meat, and a more satisfying bite, especially once the chicken gets a little cooler and loses some crispiness. This was a winner. Beef lo mein. Noodles were excellent, amount of beef, also excellent. No toughness or gristle. We were super satisfied with this. Crab rangoons, pretty standard quality. Steamed dumplings, probably not something we would go for again, as these were your basic gyoza. Our fave place on Bridford hand makes their steamed dumplings and that quality shows. Egg rolls, were good enough to order again, but nothing amazing. Accoutrements like crispy noodles and white rice, all good. Even the fortune cookies, NOT STALE! This was a treat, and a tough thing to find. It's clear to me why this place can continue to do well even with the shopping center losing that grocery store anchor. We will be returning customers!

Good flavor, tender chicken, and a nice-sized portion. The service was friendly, and pickup was smooth. Now for the not-so-great part. The lemon pepper wings were seasoned well, but they were a little too salty for me. The pork egg rolls just weren't hitting. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there was a flavor in them that neither my husband nor I enjoyed. I couldn't finish mine, which is rare because I love a good egg roll. The fried rice was okay, but nothing memorable. Maybe I ordered the wrong things because the sesame chicken showed they can make a good dish. Would I rush back? Probably not. Would I completely write them off? Not necessarily. If I return, it'll be to try something different. I'm still searching for that bomb Chinese food spot that makes you immediately start planning your next order before you've even finished eating the first one.

If you're looking for standards like orange or general tso's chicken, lo mein, crab rangoon, various fried rices, beef and broccoli, etc. you'll likely be pretty happy. Their soups aren't quite as flavorful as our other place, and the egg rolls also cannot compare either. The only problem came with the General Tso's chicken. I ordered it mild but what I got was off the chart spicy. I couldn't even eat more than two or three pieces. It still messed up my mouth for a while. Overall, a good experience. I just wish I've been able to eat the chicken cause I wasn't able to take the heat.

The egg roll was mainly pork and cabbage, it has good flavor without the cabbage being overpowering. (Full disclosure: I am a shrimp/bean spout girl, so egg roll was better tasting than many similar egg rolls.) The crab rangoon was disappointing. the filling was a doughy consistency, the texture was chewy, and the cream cheese flavor wasn't there. The cashew chicken has a variety of vegetables, however, the flavor wasn't there for me. The fortune cookie I ate seemed stale (soft/chewy). I realize with chinese cuisine there are many different regions/flavors, so I don't hold it against them. I would just say it's not my cup of tea. This location provides a pick-up window, but beware--do not block access to back of the strip mall. I would also watch traffic in parking as 2 drivers were not paying attention speeding through lot--luckily I was watching and avoided a collision. While it's a relatively impressive looking storefront in a rundown and half empty shopping center, I have always had great experiences with the food. Items are prepared fast, fresh, and always taste great. From working here, I know that many of the items on the menu are made fresh in a house (eggrolls, chicken teriyaki appetizers, sauces, etc.) and you can tell from the fresh quality. Like many restaurants at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, China City closed their storefront and transitioned to a strictly takeout or delivery model. Granted, before that happened, it was extremely rare to see somebody dine in and there's has always really been a to-go establishment. I recall a time when there used to be a buffet, but it was never busy enough to maintain. Recently, they have reopened the storefront and put out a couple of tables for inside dining and you can actually walk inside to pick up your food from the counter again, and it's nice to have that interaction with the owners which has been missing for years! To get in line with modern times, it would be nice to have online ordering as an option, but I've never had difficulties placing a telephone order and the food is always prepared very quickly.

The menu has a great mix of familiar Chinese dishes alongside more traditional regional specialties, and it's clear the restaurant isn't afraid to lean into bold, spicy flavors. The ambiance is cozy. It looks like they turned an old Biscuitville into the dining space, which is quite charming. We ordered quite a few dishes, including the steamed soup dumplings, ox tongue and tripe with chili sauce, Singapore mei fun, intestine with chili pepper, mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and the intestine noodle. Everything was well prepared, but the standout was how the restaurant balances more "American Chinese" flavors while also staying true to some more traditional chinese flavors as well. The chili-forward dishes had plenty of heat without overpowering the other flavors, and each dish had its own distinct character. The ox tongue and tripe appetizer and the intestine dishes were great options if you're looking to try something a little more traditional. The portions were generous, making it a great place to order several dishes and share with the table. If you're used to American Chinese food, this menu offers a chance to branch out and try something different while still having plenty of familiar options available. If there is a dish I would not order again, it would probably be the soup dumplings. They tasted just like the store bought frozen variety that you can steam at home. Nonetheless, New Sichuan Restaurant is well worth a visit if you're desiring flavors that somewhat lean towards more traditional Sichuan cooking.
