Ordered through Grubhub. And it came very fast. All the food was well packaged and still hot, which was great. Would like to receive a little bit more soy sauce and sauces but overall pretty good. Quantity to your food was great. They even really overstaffed the House Special Fried Rice. Taste was very good with the rice and it was filled with lots of good meat. I ordered the Subgum Wonton and I was really impressed by the flavor and the texture of the wonton. The only problem came with the General Tso's chicken. I ordered it mild but what I got was off the chart spicy. I couldn't even eat more than two or three pieces. It still messed up my mouth for a while. Overall, a good experience. My husband and I got takeout. He got the chicken lo mein. There was hardly any chicken in it at all. I got the honey sesame chicken , the chicken was so hard It was terrible.. after a couple of pieces to give them the benefit of the doubt. I did try some more. Great China used to be a family favorite for dinner when I was younger then we moved away from the area. It's been years since I went back and I'm happy to say that it's still the same flavorful wings and fried rice that I ate when I was a kid. There was a wait outside the door and from what I heard by the cashier calling out the orders is that everybody was ordering the wings and fried rice just like me. I've had fried wings from almost every Chinese restaurant I've eaten at, but Great China is the king of fried wings. Crispy and sweet! The fried rice is good and they're generous with the shrimp! Wow, this has just been really bad. I hope that they turn this restaurant around. I have ordered from here for a couple years and it just keeps getting worse, pick up and take out... tonight was the final straw. We are just done. It's really sad too, because their main delivery driver has such a great personality. At one time they almost always delivered in 45 min to 1 hr, which we can deal with. Over time delivery has taken long and longer every time, with no notice given that wait times are any longer than normal. We were actually going to stop ordering from here after our last order took over 2 hours and 15 minutes to be delivered, but we gave them one last chance tonight because of their driver. However honestly, this restaurant doesn't deserve your money - go somewhere else. Tonight, I called back a little more than 1 hour after we ordered to ask if our food was out for delivery. The lady said, no and that it would be out for delivery in about the next 15 minutes. I let her know that last time it took 2 hours and that we weren't feeling waiting that long again. After another 40 minutes, still no food. We gave up and went out to eat instead. We drove down the street to a different restaurant, we were seated, given drinks, and had the food we ordered on the table all in less than 30 minutes... we wanted to stay home and have Asian food, but honestly the food we ended up going out and getting was much better, faster, and the same price. There is no benefit to ordering from Great China anymore other than getting to stay home (I will say, their wings are good though - that's about the only thing they have done well with lately). Their restaurant is pretty nasty looking, when you call sometimes no one answers and it just rings and rings, when they do answer you almost always immediately get put on "hold" (by that I mean you get to hear a 5 minute conversation about the cashier's "baby daddy" or all the details of someone else's order including their address because they don't actually push the hold button - they just sit the phone down and you can hear everything they are doing), if you order a two liter drink or request plastic silverware they will forget it, and half the food tastes like they use the same sauce for all of it (I haven't counted, but I have likely ordered about 15+ different things here). Pretty sure this is the only Asian delivery place that delivers to the South Main area of Archdale, so I guess we will no longer get Asian take-out delivered. That's sad, yes, but we aren't going to be wasting our time dealing with Great China's horrible service anymore. read more

The food is pretty good. They are very busy and take longer than most places to prepare your order. The place could use some upgrading. It looks run down. BUT, the food is good and the order taker is good at her job. She is very good at multitasking. My favorite place is the teriyaki chicken with shrimp fried rice. Yesterday my chicken was cold. Worst customer service. My team and i ordered take away food here. The food was a standard item on the menu- Two Shrimp and broccoli with the garlic sauce placed on the side. The food was delivered. We opened the items and were shocked. the shrimp looked like mini prawns and broccoli. The garlic sauce was saturated in the "prawns" and broccoli. It resembled stew. We called about the order, the customer service was horrific. We were told it was the end of the cashier's shift (the speaker on the other line.) , the money would be replaced at the end of the restaurants closing. in addition to that the cashier on the line spoke profanity. We decided to go out to the restaurant to return the food. We were met with a friendly staff and the manager stated they would address the poor behaviour of the staff we had spoken to. i think after the negative experience over the phone- None of us on my work team will be returning here. This is a Chinese Buffett that my family and I have eaten at for years. The decor has always been the same however the food was always consistent...until recently. The food was subpar at best and the prices have increased. It's worth noting that there is new ownership. I'm not sure if this is the reason or not. I say stay away. read more

The food is awesome!!! I have had about six different menu items and all have been good. The egg rolls are delicious and the dumplings are just spectacular. The General Tso's chicken has the exact amount of spice and flavor it needs. The neighborhood is not the most desirable and I definitely recommend taking your food to go because the dining room is almost not existent. I never would write a review to put someone's poor service on blast and potential hurt their business but I tried to call the eatery back for over 10 minutes with no answer. I work in the food service industry and my employees make most money off tips . I usually tip very well, but this evening I was quoted 35 for a delivery which took almost an hour and half. Obviously by this time I was waiting on my front porch with the light on seems how I couldn't get an answer at the store. When the driver pulled up, he had a car full of people. He then yelled to his passengers for a pen for another couple minutes, so I could "tip" him. When he stepped on my porch I immediately notice the stank of 420. He of course blamed the lateness on his management when clearly It was the driver that didn't make me a priority. It's acts like this that give the delivery industry a bad name. If your hungry now and I know you are, because that's when we order delivery, call someone else or start thawing some meat. It'll be quicker. read more

Food is good but after I was eating I saw these 3 kids come out of the back , 1 was picking his nose and touching where they were cooking . 1 was still sucking a bottle , and 1 went to cook and didn't wash his hands . One of the older women came out and was talking to some men and then went back and started cooking . And then one of the men was talking on the phone and preparing food & touching money . Beyond Horrible!! On 10/2/2015, I ordered delivery for myself and my family from this place. It took a while to get through to the person on the phone, not because she was foreign, but because she was trying to give me "attitude!" But, my wife wanted "Chinese" for dinner and we're fairly new to the area and she was at work, so I figured I would deal with it this time and look for another restaurant some other time. So, I finally placed my order, the woman (who turned out to be the "Manager") told me that it would arrive in about a half an hour. An "hour" later the driver arrives to my door with our food. He acts like he didn't want to give me my food until I paid for it first (I'm a Black man, but he was Black as well!) However, I was not paying for it until I made sure they got the order correct! The driver then proceeds to tell me, "It's no use checking the order with me, you'll just have to call back to the store anyway." (Does "everyone" at this place have "attitude?") I reply, "You may be right, but if the order isn't right, I'm not paying for it, and I'm sending you back with it and we're ordering a Pizza!" So, after making sure the order was correct, I proceed to pay this guy. The order came to $18.65. I gave the driver a $20.00 bill. He gave me back $1.00 saying that he didn't have any more coin change. I say to him, "That's not "my" problem, you'll have to give me another dollar and eat the 15 cents for not being prepared." The driver then says, "F__K you!", turns and runs to his "broken down, black compact car", and drives off! In other words, I was just robbed by their delivery driver! So, I called the store to complain about what just happened, and the "Manager" proceeds to tell me that they were busy and "maybe" she'll send someone out to refund my money or she'll give me a credit on my next order. ON MY "NEXT" ORDER? So, she's assuming that I'm doing business with her again? I then ask her if she at all thinks what her delivery driver was "at all" wrong, or is this "normal business" practice for them? She then tells me that I must be "desperate" for my 85 cents! I says, "Ma'am, it's about principle, something none of you there seem to know anything about. I'll let the High Point PD explain it to you since you allow your drivers to rob your customers." So, the High Point Police officer actually had to go to the store to explain it to them. Later that evening, another employee showed up at my door to refund one dollar to me.
