Let's give this place some more recognition! There's a drive thru if you'd like to use it (which I have never seen a Chinese restaurant with a drive thru I think it's super neat). I always go in to talk to the owner. She is extremely nice and hardworking, and a good cook. The food is flavourful and reminds me of the food I used to have at home. There's no seating inside so it's exclusively takeout. Flavors are great. Prices are also extremely reasonable. After reading high praises, I placed my order online. I ordered an egg roll, crab rangoon, and cashew chicken. The egg roll was mainly pork and cabbage, it has good flavor without the cabbage being overpowering. (Full disclosure: I am a shrimp/bean spout girl, so egg roll was better tasting than many similar egg rolls.) The crab rangoon was disappointing. the filling was a doughy consistency, the texture was chewy, and the cream cheese flavor wasn't there. The cashew chicken has a variety of vegetables, however, the flavor wasn't there for me. The fortune cookie I ate seemed stale (soft/chewy). I realize with chinese cuisine there are many different regions/flavors, so I don't hold it against them. I would just say it's not my cup of tea. This location provides a pick-up window, but beware--do not block access to back of the strip mall. I would also watch traffic in parking as 2 drivers were not paying attention speeding through lot--luckily I was watching and avoided a collision. I wanted add: Despite managing phones, drive thru, and counter, when I walked in to pickup my order staff was courteous and friendly. One of the best Chinese restaurants in High Point! Substituted the pork fried rice for veggie fried rice. Tastes fresh and full of vegetables. I'm not of a fan of their pork fried rice because the chunks of pork is sometimes very dry and not tasty! The sesame and orange chicken is great! Some pieces had a lil too much breading, but the sauces make up for it! Chicken wings are crispy and very juicy! Always order a side of them with your main dish! read more

Ordered from here one Sunday because my go-to place was closed (I reviewed them awhile back). Ordered beef broccoli combo and szechuan beef. The young lady working was polite and courteous. The food was done and ready to go in about ten minutes while I waited in the lobby. The actual food was a bland, sloppy mess devoid of any flavor. The szechuan beef had zero heat and tasted like the beef broccoli. The rice was just okay and the saving grace was the egg roll. I knew going there would be a mistake based on my last order from three or four years ago. Chu's has been in this location for a very long time and I can remember back when they were really good...like in 1996. Do yourself a favor and stroll down Centennial to the College Village Shopping Center and order from the Chinese food place there - you won't regret it like I did this past Sunday. read more

Chu's Express has gone from a 4 to a 1. What is sweet and sour chicken without the sweet and sour sauce? What is Chinese food without soy sauce? Bad experience the last two times I ordered from them leaving these items out of the order. Their solution was to include two sweet and sour sauces NEXT TIME and the meals were cold by the time I got back picking up the sauce. There won't be a next time. The Sesame Chicken tasted like plastic and the egg rolls are obviously frozen along with the sweet and sour chicken. I just don't know what happened to a fairly good restaurant but it has hit the bottom. Do not eat there. read more

Got this for dinner on a Sunday night with my girlfriend. I figured it would be a solid takeout option. She ordered the sesame tofu and I got the sesame chicken combo. The food was delivered much quicker then I was told. Our bag contained no silverware which could have been disastrous for a college dorm. If there was any word to describe the food it would be bland. The sesame sauce on both chicken and tofu added hardly any flavor to them. The pork fried rice was also very dry. The spring roll was pretty average, not bad but also not anything to brag about. While the prices were on par with competitors the food just didn't do it for either of us. I was in the mood for some Chinese so I picked this place. I ordered the Szechuan chicken which was slightly spicy but very bland in taste. The teriyaki chicken sticks were the best thing I got. Perfectly cooked with a sweet teriyaki sauce over them. I also had three egg rolls which were as good as any I have had elsewhere. Then there was the Wonton soup. It was like it was 60% watered down. Tried Chi's since Huang's kitchen was closed for vacation. Absolutely horrible Chinese food. Tasteless and no spice at all in the Szechuan chicken, Kung Lao shrimp had teeny tiny shrimp and tasted horrible and was gray brown. Never again!!!! read more

Chus Express, the location on Eastchester, to be precise, is home to some of the best Chinese takeout in High Point. I am a huge fan of the egg rolls in particular. I also love the wide variety of options available. Let's not forget the portion sizes, which are LARGE. I usually get two meals out of one. If you have a chance, give this place a try. read more

VERY disappointed. We have ordered from Chu's Express many times over the past 6 years. Always good food...until now. The Orange Chicken and Chicken with snow peas entrees with white rice were tasty and enjoyed. The spring roll was disappointing. The eggdrop soup had NO flavor at all. Asked for added green onions. None. Mongolian beef was a BIG disappointment. I see that they don't have their with spice but it had NO flavor, full of bamboo shoots and onions and was NOT worth the added cost. We have ordered and enjoyed food from there before; but I don't think I will be eager to order from them again. They lost us. Also, on their website there are reviews, but no place to add one and I don't feel like calling to complain about a $35. order when I will just go elsewhere next time. read more

Despite the negative rating, I decided to try it... Not good. Not only the food wasn't good, but the service was bad too. When I called, the person taking the order seemed utterly incompetent, which almost stopped me from placing the order. The General Tso's was rubbery and bland, so we didn't even try the chicken and broccoli. We were supposed to get two orders of fried rice and got one fried and one white. Crab wontons were okay, but far from good. Just save yourself the time and trouble and go somewhere else. read more

If it weren't for the egg rolls, I would have given this place zero stars. Food was bland, colorless and honestly I'm not even sure the meat in my Mongolian beef was, well beef! I also ordered the steamed pork dumplings. They were a tasteless, grey, gelatinous mess. They did deliver, to my work at night after 8. They also insisted on a $15 minimum AND they charges a delivery charge. Which i felr took some nerve. It is doubtful I will ever order from them again. Really disappointing. read more

Chus has always been a Friday night treat. The food is consistently good. Even though I usually stick to the same two or three dishes my roommates are always happy with there varied chosen entrees. I recommend the House Vegetable soup..not only is it delicious it's my go to remedy when I'm not feeling well! Guess its the abundance of fresh tasting vegetables. If it wasn't for the poor service I receive on occasion and making me pay a delivery charge for each order coming to the same location I would give it 5 stars! read more

I regret ordering food here. It took an hour for my food to arrive . They gave me two boxes of rice which I didn't not order. They gave my two egg roll and they didn't taste so good. I ordered spicy orange chicken and it wasn't even spicy, did not have good flavor. It tasted like it's been there for weeks. They did it to me again. We picked up an order and after unpacking it at home, we found that part of the order was not in the bag. The item was on the ticket and therefore paid for, but we didn't get it. This has happened several times. They have left out egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce for sweet and sour chicken, noodles, and other things. I called to complain and was told they were busy. That's no excuse, maybe they won't be busy if they keep cheating customers out of what they paid for. The food is only average. I think we need to find another place to take our business. read more

Since moving from Greensboro to High Point, we've been ordering from Chu's on Eastchester for home delivery about once or twice a month. It's comparable to our preferred Chinese take-out in Greensboro. Large portions, well prepared--it's typical "Americanized Chinese" food. We like it! The main differences from the place in Greensboro are that we have to order over the phone now (instead of ordering online since Chu's is not on GrubHub) and they don't offer steamed edamame beans. We have our own silverware, so I never noticed that they do not include it. They throw in plenty of sauces, though! We've never had any customer service problems, and every time it's delivered in a timely way, still piping hot! Occasionally my husband says they put more vegetables than he wanted in his Szechuan, but we don't have any other complaints. We're happy being regulars! read more
