    C15. Orange Chicken Combo Platter
    Luis C.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in High Point! Substituted the pork fried rice for veggie fried rice. Tastes fresh and full of vegetables. I'm not of a fan of their pork fried rice because the chunks of pork is sometimes very dry and not tasty! The sesame and orange chicken is great! Some pieces had a lil too much breading, but the sauces make up for it! Chicken wings are crispy and very juicy! Always order a side of them with your main dish!

Ordered from here one Sunday because my go-to place was closed (I reviewed them awhile back). Ordered beef broccoli combo and szechuan beef. The young lady working was polite and courteous. The food was done and ready to go in about ten minutes while I waited in the lobby. The actual food was a bland, sloppy mess devoid of any flavor. The szechuan beef had zero heat and tasted like the beef broccoli. The rice was just okay and the saving grace was the egg roll. I knew going there would be a mistake based on my last order from three or four years ago. Chu's has been in this location for a very long time and I can remember back when they were really good...like in 1996. Do yourself a favor and stroll down Centennial to the College Village Shopping Center and order from the Chinese food place there - you won't regret it like I did this past Sunday.

    Sesame tofu. Very bland!!!

We were heading to AVL for my bachelorette and throughout the weekend we kept going "GOD THAT RAMEN WAS SO GOOD!" We came on a Wednesday evening. It took a little to get seated and service was on the slower side, but it was worth it. There was a lot of indoor seating and we were seated at a booth. They have mens and womens restrooms at this restaurant. And a lot of free parking out front in their parking lot. We started off with an Alaska roll as an appetizer. This was really delicious! We knew we were off to a great start. I got the black garlic ramen and my best friend got the red spicy oil ramen. We were in heaven. This ramen is beyond delicious. The rich garlicy broth of mine was perfection. Each element was so yummy. I would drive the 3.5 hours back just to get this ramen again. I highly recommend going.

Our waitress was pushing very hard, but simply had too many tables. This resulted in less enjoyment of the meal without desired hot sauces and replinished drinks. The best part is the very reasonable charges for their delicious, freshly prepared meals.

I thought at first it might have been a ramen place, but once I walked in and saw the menu, I was thrilled to try the food. Jasmine took my order and brought my food. But I was happy to see gluten sensitive options available although gluten-free was preferred. I ordered the zucchini roasted garlic cream dish with grilled chicken added. My husband ordered the backyard bbq chicken salad. We were a bit disappointed at the size of the portions, however, the taste was really impressive. We also ordered the Korean BBQ meatballs. Once again, the size was disappointing for the cost, however, the taste was pretty good. The service one this day was really good. The young lady that took our order was really nice. The ambiance was also nice. It was a really calm atmosphere. The most disappointing thing again was the serving sizes in relation to the price. They were really small.

We personally believe they have the best traditional Korean food in the area. We order the seafood tofu soup every time we visit because it always comes out piping hot and with a generous amount of protein-- perfect for the winter time. This time we tried the Jajang Tangsooyook Set as well, which will probably become a regular for us too. The jajang (black bean) noodles had a generous portion of beef and noodles, and the tangsooyook (fried pork) was so perfectly crispy and complemented so well with the sweet and sour sauce. On top of the great food, the price of every entree is beyond reasonable for the portion you get and the staff is always friendly! Another plus? They have Kpop playing on their TV. We have yet to have a mad meal here. Kaya appears to be a family run restaurant, so you can truly feel the love in the food and the staff. It was an interesting set up in that there is table service but you need to pay at the window when you're done. Perfect for a cold night. The banchan was very generous portions & well made. I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. All of the flavors meld nicely and it was delicious! I had the short rib which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this little gem for a fun night out or to try something different.

We came in, and the server was having his lunch. He seated us, and we waited for minutes and had to wave him that we were ready to order. We placed an order, that itself was a disaster, since he couldn't really understand special requests, like less noodles and extra broth. So we decided to just order as is with my BF asking for extra meat, which he understood. The food came out in less than 10 minutes. And once served, he was never to be found again and had to walk up to the counter to pay. Now, the pho was good and the meats were tender. But, I've had way better pho in the East Coast. It was a little bland and I had to add hoisin and sriracha to enhance and add some zest to the taste.
