Bamboo house is the perfect takeout for a night in! My boyfriend introduced me to Bamboo house a few years ago and I've been getting it ever since. We ordered from here last night and it was great. We like to get two combos and then split them but we always have leftovers since the portions are pretty large. We ordered the crab rangoons , which are deliciously cheesy and have a nice crispy outer layer. We ordered the General Tso's chicken with vegetable lo mein. The general Tso's chicken has a nice flavor and is really saucy. The vegetable lo mein is really good and packed full of veggies. Each combo comes with an egg roll. We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken with white rice. The batter on the chicken is crispy and they give you a big tub of sweet and sour sauce to dip the chicken in. read more

Average Chinese food. I wasn't that impressed with the house lo mein. It was mostly noodles and hardly any meat. The general tso chicken lacked flavor and sauce. The wings were ok and so were the dumplings. I did like the bone in spare ribs and would return for those. I also enjoyed dipping the crab Rangoon in that sweet and sour sauce. read more

Bamboo house has been one of our go tos ever since I moved back to Greensboro about 10 years ago. They are always consistent and decent prices. The family running it is always nice when ordering on the phone and when picking up. We opted for some general Tso's chicken with lo mein and some sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken always comes with a great portion of chicken and rice and the sauce is your typical sweet and sour. The general tsos was delicious as well coming with a nice crunch on the chicken but perfectly cooked on the inside and slathered in sauce. All combos come with rice and an egg roll we just happened to go for lo mein for an up charge as the side and we're glad we did! No order is complete without the Crab Rangoons though! One of my favorite Chinese restaurants to get Crab Rangoons because the filling is the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory! The food is good and hasn't disappointed us yet, so we will continue to order here!! read more

Got stuck overnight at GSO Airport and stayed overnight at the Marriot (nearest / part of the airport complex) and this place delivers so we ordered from there as the hotel bar/restaurant is closed on Sundays. Got two Egg Rolls, a small Beef Lo Mein and a large House Special Fried Rice. Placed the order at 6:49pm and was told it would be delivered in 45 minutes. At 7:54pm called to ask where the order was and was told they were "backed up" but that it was on it's way. Over 20 minutes after that call the food arrived. No tip for you. The two Egg Rolls were pretty standard. No complaints. The House Special Fried Rice was very good. The Beef Lo Mein was....ugh....The Lo Mein noodles were way over cooked, they had a slimy texture to them. It filled our bellies, but between the long wait and the sub par Lo Mein, they get two stars. Sorry. read more

Went here for dinner w/a friend last night on a recommendation of another friend. We ordered tempura crab and crab rangoon appetizers. Both dishes were delicious. Their egg rolls are beef and cabbage, and I'm not a fan, as I prefer the bean sprouts and baby shrimp and/or pork egg rolls (hard to come by these days). My friend said they were tasty, so it's a matter of preference. The hibachi chicken and shrimp dinner was dry (no teriyaki sauce requested, but dry as in overcooked). The beef broccoli dinner was good--broccoli had slight crunch and meat was tender. As far as service goes, waitress seem high energy but was running dining room, managing kitchen and food/carryout orders, causing for long waits at tables and lack of attention--i.e. I had to go to front counter to ask for bill and carryout container. While service suffered, it appears to be a popular spot w/locals. As they say, "good food is not prepared in a hurry", however, if you have time constraints, this may not be a place for a pleasant dining room experience--in that case, I would probably recommend carryout. read more

Bamboo House is a mainstay in our household. We go there at least once, maybe twice, a week. The business is family owned and operated. Their children have worked there since they were very young -- have been raised in the business! Mom and Dad are hard-working and eager to provide great food and service at a decent price. This is your typical quick pick Chinese restaurant. The menu is just as basic as any other similar style menu. Pricing seems to be just a step higher than other restaurants of this nature but in my opinion their taste is notch better than most of their competitors. I've never gotten anything bad here though on two occasions my egg rolls were a little over cooked. But with that being said their egg rolls are really good. I have been going here for over 10 years since it's really close to my neighborhood and this is the best takeout Chinese that I've had. I LOVE their chicken and broccoli, and fried chicken! They have lunch combos every day of the weekend, even on Saturday and Sunday!! And their egg rolls are always really good as well! Great customer service!! Just a heads up though, they usually don't let you substitute items on the lunch specials (Ex. If it comes with fried rice it you can't substitute for white rice). Used to be my go-to for Chinese delivery. But over the last year, they have fallen way off. My family would order Chinese at least 1x a week for dinner. The delivery system was ok until I started ordering in advance. If you ask for food to be delivered any time after 4 pm expect it to be at minimum 15-20, the longest delay was 30 minutes late but tends to average 15-20 minutes. In general, that wouldn't be a big deal but seriously what's the point in having the option to order hours in advance if you're not going to deliver it at the time requested? Besides the portion of food declining ( heavy on cheap vegetables but ultra-light on proteins) of course prices have gone up as they have everywhere but why is the food quality now compromised? The last two times one order in January and one about 2 weeks ago at the beginning of the month the food tasted old. Not spoiled old but like it had been prepared earlier in the day and just warmed up for my order. This then makes me question when is the food being cooked if the order is getting delivered 15-20 minutes late. As I said during better time pre covid the food and service was amazing. I used to work at the airport and would order from here pretty regularly. Now I'll just go back to fighting Lawndale traffic to pick up takeout from China's best. Pleasantly ordinary. The standard Chinese take-out menu, the standard consistent preparation, you get what you'd expect to get from a place like this, which is a good thing. Prices are reasonable, service prompt and if the place looks a little old, well, maybe we all show a little wear and tear after a while. Amazing how these places aren't part of a chain, but all have the same menu and similar prices, though there are small changes in the taste between them, but nothing worth crossing town for. I am very surprised by the negative reviews. I think Bamboo House is just like any of the other run of the mill Americanized Chinese food takeout places. This place is no more or less expensive than the Chinese food restaurant that I normally frequent. The customer service was great! We ordered sweet and sour chicken that came with the sweet and sour sauce on the side (like usually). We also ordered sesame chicken and general tso's chicken. Everything we ordered tasted fine and is what we would expect from this type of restaurant. Our order was prepared fast despite there being plenty of take out orders ahead of ours. I live close so we order dinner every 6 weeks or so. I would not go out of your way for this place but it is conveniently located to my house. I order vegetarian dishes and I wish they would include more variety of veggies. All broccoli--no onions, peppers, carrots, or sprouts. The Lo Mien dishes are good. My family is always satisfied. Horrible customer service! Food is great. I will never go because I was told I was in the wrong for using a red pen, which they provided for me. The girl taking my order realized she had not charged me for extra egg rolls after she ran my card, so I paid cash for those. I get home and no Hot & Spicy soup, but they sent sweet and sour sauce. I didn't order anything that would have sweet and sour sauce. When I called about the second mistake made by the underage worker, it was my fault and they refused to deliver the soup even when I said I would pay for it. Worst Chinese food in Greensboro! It used to be pretty good . I ordered House Special Fried Rice and Boneless spare Ribs . The Spare Ribs were good . The House Special Fried rice was almost all Rice , very light on veggies and almost NO MEAT! This is a Large. Quart Sized box also ! Literally 1 tiny shrimp 1 sliver of chicken and maybe 2 small pieces of pork ! I am not exaggerating either . The food was delivered. And I called back to explain they said okay we will send another one . The man that came back looked like a cook or owner . He demanded the first food back in exchange for the new one . No problem. After I handed it to Him he opened it up and and started yelling look Shrimp pork , meat Pointing to the rice . I told him to leave . He was very upset , rude and disrespectful. ordered my lunch from here at 11:30 for delivery to my work which is less than 10 minutes away. after an hour of waiting, i called and was told the driver was on the way. 15 minutes later, still no food. called back and was told the driver had several orders to drop off along with mine. at this point, it's been an hour and 20 minutes since i ordered. fried rice, two egg rolls, and an order of crab rangoons. my order finally arrived at 1 pm. my food was hot and seemed pretty fresh which makes me think they forgot my order or simply didn't care. i will NEVER order from here again, wouldn't recommended anyone else do it either. read more
