Steam 9. Pork Dumplings
Devon E.

Husband and I had a craving for Chinese so ordered some delivery via GrubHub. Even though it was done through GrubHub the food was delivered from a China Wok employee. We got everything we ordered and faster than the estimated time. I tend to order the same Chinese regardless of where I order, I like what I like! Our meal started with a pint of Hot & Sour Soup. Soup had the good traditional taste, little spice as intended. We also shared an order of Steamed Dumplings. Came with 7 dumplings of a standard size. They were cooked well; filling was a little bland but good. For entrees we both got Combination Plates which come with Chicken Fried Rice and Egg Roll. Most Chinese places its pork fried rice so that was a little different. I would say their fried rice is pretty basic, had a little cabbage and onions but no peas, carrots, or corn like some places. I like the inclusions for varying taste and texture, it also helps everything not look so brown., so it was a little disappointing for me. Egg roll was nice in crispy, even with delivery time. As it was chicken fried rice, I got Roasted Pork Lo Mein (normally would do chicken). The Lo Mein was tasty and did have some nice vegetable inclusions. Hubby got the General Tso's Chicken as his main entrée. He felt it was lacking the spicy aspect that kind of differentiates it from Sesame Chicken, but still tasted good. Overall, I would say China Wok satisfied the craving and I would order again, but nothing we ate was particularly special. Standard Chinese take-out taste which is common most places in the area I will say their combination plates were enough food for 2 (maybe even 3) meals and were very inexpensive so that for me is also a positive.

Honestly best Chinese for the buck around town. Those combos I posted are $8 each. Incredible taste, juicy, great portion! You want great food for a great price, don't WOK, run on in!

Food tasted horrible. Rice undercooked. General tso sauce thick for once in my life so that was really weird. Jus terrible.

9. Pork Dumplings

Ordered for delivery, & although it came fast it was a disappointment in taste. The steamed dumplings were too doughy & were not cooked all the way. The fried chicken had too much breading on it and was over cooked. The bits of chicken in my chicken fried rice was dry & hard, almost like the rice had been sitting for a while. My other combo was missing it's side of fries, but they did send the delivery guy right back to my house to deliver it to me after I called. The only good things about this meal was how fast the food came & the egg roll & crab Rangoon were good.

Small place, 6 tables and counter service.

That may be the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I got the student special which runs you about seven bucks. It comes with either an eggroll or a soda and there are about 10 entrées to choose from. The fried rice was the most unnatural yellow-orange color I have ever seen. I feel like I just upped my cancer risk in eating the a few bites that I did. Fortunately I wasn't tempted to eat too much because it was terrible and tasted nothing like asian fried rice! The chicken and broccoli entrée was subpar with a thin flavorless brown sauce. If you are in the area and craving Asian food, there are better options (albeit slightly pricier) within the Tate Street area. These include Don Japanese noodles, Taste of Thai, Boba House and Sushi Republic.

Great food! A little more pricey than I expected but the food is worth it! Love the crab Rangoons!!! Everything is always hot and fresh !

Worms in the food! Do not eat here!

Typical Chinese delivery near UNCG. Inexpensive and fast. Yummy tho, of course, not the healthiest food choice. Delivery is FAST!

We've had amazing Chinese food in San Francisco Chinatown when we lived there during our post…read moregraduate studies, and have to say this place measures up! Best we've had yet in the Triad area by a long shot. First off, the online ordering process is super easy, and the estimated time for pick up was spot on. Highly recommend ordering online beforehand. The place was slammed, packed in like sardines on a Saturday evening. Everyone waiting for orders, and even if you don't order prior, the wait would still be worth it. This place was a well oiled machine, everyone knowing exactly what to do and how to pump out stellar authentic Chinese food quickly and efficiently. Flavorful dishes, authentic spices and sauces, juicy meat, perfectly cooked noodles and rice...you name it, this place does it right. Crispy scallion chicken is the bomb! Each and every other dish we had was top notch, including the pork egg foo young, chicken lo mein, house special fried rice (chicken pork and shrimp). And can't leave out the perfectly fried pork egg rolls...taste overload. Can't wait to come back and try more of this amazing and truly authentic Chinese joint.

That kitchen is packed with people cooking up the absolute best Chinese food and takeout in the Triad. It doesn't get better than this folks. This is currently, and always has been, the best spot to get your fix. Even my family members from NY who have access to amazing Chinese takeout on every corner agree. Everything is delicious, but make sure you get enough of their scratch made pork egg rolls to have one with you meal, and one for the air fryer to go with your leftovers. They are addicting. Try the crispy scallion chicken, along with your favorites. Golden Wok forever!

So when I had the chance to grab lunch, I was all over it! This spot has housed at least 4 Chinese…read morerestaurants, but none had seen the success of this operation. It is a family operation, as most Chinese restaurants in the USA are. This place is very much like New Sichuan in Winston, in fact I don't know which is better, they are both consistently great! We grabbed a nice array of dishes to go as we had several mouths to feed. We chose a bunch of favorite dishes - starting of course with Dan Dan Noodles, Cucumber in Garlic Sauce, Wontons in Red Chile Oil, Sour Potatoes, Tri-Pepper Chicken, Scallion Chicken, and Beef in Spicy Sauce! Every single item was excellent, and the potatoes and the cucumber were a nice, cool offset to the other spicy dishes.

We didn't order them this time, but they're definitely on the list for a future visit. Everything we did get was packed with flavor. The crab rangoons and pork dumplings arrived hot and fresh, and the Dan Dan noodles, orange chicken, chicken chow fun, and garlic beef were all very tasty. One of the biggest positives here is consistency of flavor, something that's been surprisingly hard to find with a lot of Chinese takeout spots we've tried in the area. The only real miss for us is that egg foo young isn't on the menu, which my wife loves and always hopes to find. That aside, this is a super solid takeout option for flavorful, authentic, and fresh Chinese food.

Hello Neighbors, Today I ordered food from Dragon Express…read more It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and the BEST Chinese food I've ever eaten here in the area. In all the years we have been getting takeout, never had an issue with the accuracy of our orders. They have nice sized crispy breaded wings. Their fried wontons and crab rangoons are also good picks. I chuck them in the air fryer because the sweaty containers do make them a bit flat by the time you make it home. Egg rolls are what you expect. Hunan chicken is not very spicy but has a good flavor. Lo meins are good, too. Food cost are up everywhere. 2 combo plates, small order of wings, and wontons set me back $42. The extra $4.00 upcharge on the combo for house lo mein versus chicken was unexpected (dinner combo is already $10.75) but I didn't ask and the girl answering the phone didn't offer so that's on me. Lesson learned. Next time, I will stick with the chicken. If you liked Mr. Wonton back in the 90's you will like them, too. Similar cooking style and portions.

I'll be honest--I avoided China Cafe for a while because of the older Yelp reviews. But last night…read moreI needed something quick, ordered on DoorDash, and I'm really glad I gave them a chance. Everything I ordered was actually solid. The lo mein? Chef's kiss. The noodles were cooked perfectly, nice and saucy, and they even offered it spicy--which I've never been offered before. The meat was tender and well-seasoned. Personally, I wouldn't mind a little more cabbage in it, but that's just preference. The fried chicken wings really surprised me. Usually I end up throwing wings in the air fryer to crisp them up more--but not these. They were already crispy, fresh, and flavorful straight out the container. Now let me talk about the sweet and sour chicken... I've NEVER been a fan. I always thought it looked too breaded and soggy, so I avoided it for years. When I opened my order and realized that's what I got, I was low-key annoyed but decided to try it anyway. And wow--that ended up being my favorite item. The sauce was perfect, and once I dipped it myself, it completely changed my mind about sweet and sour chicken. The soup was also really good--super flavorful with that rich broth and those sesame oil "gold spots" on top (you know it's good when you see that). The only thing I wasn't big on was the plain fried rice--but that's more of a personal preference since I usually don't go for plain fried rice anyway. Next time I'll try the house fried rice. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised. This was a great experience, especially for a last-minute order. I'll definitely be ordering again--and next time I'll come back with pictures because this was a spur-of-the-moment decision. China Cafe, you proved me wrong

The most disappointing part, however, was the pre-packaged wonton chips that came with the egg drop soup. Unfortunately, this will be my final visit.
