FOUR STARS! It's always fun to try something new! We placed an order to go that included a spicy beef, broccoli beef and sweet and sour chicken. Great flavors for all three, although we would have preferred that the spicy beef dish have a little more kick. Each dish included a container of white rice - a great bonus since we're used to paying!! We also ordered 6 egg rolls that hit the spot. Good service and tasty food. I enjoyed my meal at China palace. I wanted General Tso Tofu, but didn't find it on the menu (spoiler alert- they were able to make it). The menu was quite extensive, so most people would be able to find their favorite dishes. It would be helpful if there menu held more explanations for some of the dishes, since there really are a lot of options. We were quickly seated in a simple booth near the entrance upon arrival. The vibe of the place is solidly in the middle of a nice sit-down and a casual eatery. I'd call it casual sit-down if that makes sense. We got crab ragoon as an appetizer (it was called something else on the menu. Super tasty! I was able to get the General Tso tofu, which they called "butter tofu" or something to that effect. I enjoyed it, but wished there was a little more crisp on the tofu. Overall, I would definitely be back to the spot. Nice food, good service, definitely worth a visit. read more

The food was pretty good, everything tasted fresh and was enough for two meals. I didn't love the spring roll, not your typical "Chinese take out" spring roll, but the egg roll was delicious. I cannot speak too the customer service here as I only got take out that a friend picked up for me, but my Szechuan chicken was not good most of the container was filled with veggies tons of green peppers and very little chicken, the sauce was very thin(watery) and had very little flavor. I have eaten Szechuan chicken at various Chinese food places So I know each restaurant makes things a little differently but this was not worth eating. if I lived nearby I likely would have gotten my money back. read more

I pick up lunch nearly every week and they are super sweet and my order is always correct. I haven't eaten inside yet but my experience picking up is always A+ even during busy lunch hours! Highly recommend them! I love everything I had so far, the pork fried rice and the soups are delicious. It looks like they may have some authentic Cantonese dishes which I have yet to try. We were out and about and decided Chinese food was required. We went to China Palace. The last time I was there, was with my mom and her Countryside Retirement Village friends. My mom passed on 2-14-19 so it's been a minute for sure. But I remembered how good the food was. A quick check on Yelp found a 95.5 Health Score and 4 Stars. We dined in and it was fantastic. We ordered a bowl of Crispy Noodles to start. They met the standard for crispy goodness and we added salt, as we always do. We also got two lunch specials that included a main, fried rice and an egg roll. I ordered the Honey Spicy Chicken and Hubs got the Beef LoMein. We shared bites and both were very good. But the egg roll was the star of the show. They were heads and shoulders above the standard egg roll fare. I'm not sure what gave it such excellent flavor but it wasn't just cabbage. They were outstanding. We will be back for another dine in experience. read more

They have upped their game! Quality over quantity! The food portion is smaller than the last few times we ate there, but for the first time, I want to go back! The broccoli on the beef and broccoli was not over cooked and still had some texture to it. The flavor tasted healthier and delicious. The rice wasn't just white rice with soy sauce. Their house spicy mustard is just that: spicy. It adds a great flavor. The sesame chicken had a nice crunch and although sweet, you could taste the nutty flavor as well. The crab Rangoon were like little mini empanadas. We will definitely be keeping this as our go to. The workers know how to hustle as well, and they are ALWAYS friendly! read more

My first time there and the food was great! We got egg drop soup and chicken with broccoli slightly spicy. I liked that the chicken with broccoli had other veggies too like carrots and water chestnuts. The only complaint was the lack of visibility from the road. The banner above the establishment was faded and I didn't see it until I passed it and had to turn around. But now I know where it is so I'm good! The lady working there was very kind and polite. We got the barbecued duck and stuffed tofu. First of all the duck is just warm but not hot. However the duck is very delicious. Probably the best duck I've had in the area. The reason why I am giving a two star is that there is something wrong with the stuffed tofu. It is stuffed with pork. But the pork has a sour odor that you get from spoiled pork. I asked the lady serving our table to bring it back and they returned the dish claiming the pork is fresh and probably has to do with the sauce. Now, the sauce is salty and a bit sweet. I don't see logically how that's going to have a sour odor. I separated the tofu from the pork to make sure the odor is from the pork - indeed it was, as you can see in the picture. I didn't proceed with the situation because the duck was really good. Just be mindful about the stuffed tofu you order. read more

This place is a rip-off. It was my first time last week. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch combination special. It came with the smallest eggroll I have ever seen! No taste and looked like a spring roll. The fried rice had absolutely no meat or vegetables in it. It was just poor quality yellow rice. I ordered wonton soup as well. One and a half wontons swimming in a container of tasteless broth. The wonton that was intact had no filling and the other one was just a broken fragment of a wonton. The broth had no chives and looked like dirty dishwater. If they could sell you just air in containers they would. They have come up with a way to optimize their profits by using cheap quality ingredients, eliminating some and not putting any efforts in preparing the food. read more

Started with the crab cream cheese wontons . Absolutely no flavor. While waiting to order the kitchen staff got into a fight and were screaming at the top of their lungs. Ordered Beef lo mein and steamed veggies. The Beef lo mein had no flavor. The egg roll was hot and fresh but again lacked any flavor. . Within some, but not all, of the printed/laminated menus, there's a computer-printed sheet of "Cantonese specials". Start there. Or better yet, find Ming & ask her "What's excellent today?" Today we were delighted with garlic long beans & boneless duck. The black bean shrimp had a good bite & luscious sauce, but if I order it again, I'll request they tailor the veggies to my personal preferences; I don't like green peppers much or water chestnuts at all. They're fine with such specifics; I just didn't think to ask this time. We've also enjoyed their mapo tofu, orange beef (*not* oversauced as so many places do), & dry chow fan (ho fun) (flat rice noodle) on previous visits. I'll admit, you would never mistake Kernersville for Oakland's Chinatown, or New York, or even Philly, but for a toothsome local Chinese place, China Palace wins. read more

There simply are not many consistently solid Chinese restaurants in the Triad area - few excellent Americanized Chinese, and almost no authentic ones. This restaurant has been around for well over 20 years now, and is a "two-fer" - very good Americanized fare, and a number of excellent authentic Cantonese dishes. We stopped in for an early lunch recently, and were reminded of just how solid the food here is. We chose the Black Pepper Chicken ($5.75 with Pork Fried Rice), and the Kung Bo Chicken ($5.95 with Fried Rice & an Egg Roll). Both choices were excellent. Black Pepper Chicken is a favorite of mine, and the dish here is done well - plenty of tender chicken, and fresh cut onions, and loads of black pepper. The sauce here is a little darker, a little sweeter, and a little thicker than most, but it works. The Fried Rice was also very, very nice. The Kung Bo (Kung Pao at other restaurants) was also well done. The chicken consists of thick slices of white meat, which is so often overcooked and dry - but here it is cooked perfectly, and remains tender and full of flavor. The dish here contains a few extraneous vegetables (like Broccoli and Carrot), but not so much that it smothers the intended flavors of this classic dish. Actually, the broccoli here is always excellent, and that is one reason their Beef & Broccoli dish is so popular. This dish is not as spicy as some, but there is a gradual buildup of heat. We have tried some of the authentic Cantonese dishes in the past (Beef & Broccoli, Cashew Chicken, Hong Kong Dumplings,Stuffed Tofu, and others) and have always found them excellent. Cantonese cuisine is rather mild generally, but when prepared with fresh ingredients, the flavors are very, very nice. This is a small place, and the noise level can rise - the Chinese ladies in the back of the restaurant talk rather loudly, and rather often. Can be irritating, but the food is good, and the service excellent. read more

Used to be pretty good. But has gone down hill. Ordered 7 dishes only got 6. When confronted they made the 7th dinner and changed me $2 over menu price. Worst part, 6 of the 7 people had stomach distress 30 to 45 minutes after eating the food. Maybe it was because it was Black Friday... I've been a customer of this place for 30 years. It was always the best Chinese food around. The former owners retired a year or so ago, so the staff is different....& some of the menu items aren't the same. The problem I had with them tonight is that I ordered soda water; as in the fizzy water you get from any soda machine where you fill your own drinks. Every fast food place has it for free. Nice restaurants serve it free. It's water. Not bottled, not purified, just soda water. They charged us for it at their regular soft drink price! I questioned the woman at the register , & she just said yes... no other explanation or comment. This seems wrong to me , especially since other places don't charge for it - even fast food joints! The person I spoke with seemed completely unconcerned about my objection. I don't plan to return. read more
