Decent Chinese takeout on the south side of Greensboro. Dragon Express has all your usual Americanized favorites. They have a steady stream of customers any time I order. In all the years we have been getting takeout, never had an issue with the accuracy of our orders. They have nice sized crispy breaded wings. Their fried wontons and crab rangoons are also good picks. I chuck them in the air fryer because the sweaty containers do make them a bit flat by the time you make it home. Egg rolls are what you expect. Hunan chicken is not very spicy but has a good flavor. Lo meins are good, too. Food cost are up everywhere. 2 combo plates, small order of wings, and wontons set me back $42. The extra $4.00 upcharge on the combo for house lo mein versus chicken was unexpected (dinner combo is already $10.75) but I didn't ask and the girl answering the phone didn't offer so that's on me. Lesson learned. Next time, I will stick with the chicken. If you liked Mr. Wonton back in the 90's you will like them, too. Similar cooking style and portions. read more

You literally cannot go wrong with this restaurant. I have been eating here for over 10 years. My go to are their chicken wings , egg rolls and spring rolls. If you're catering to a lot of people or just want something for yourself and or family you will get your moneys worth here. The food is always hot and delicious. I have never had an issue ordering here. It's affordable even in this economy which I appreciate. They get you in and out and I love being able to call in my order and just pick it up. It's a small take out only restaurant and I recommend anyone who likes Chinese to try it. read more

The food was fresh and flavorful, nothing bland or room temperature from sitting out too long. The lady at the front was efficient. I was born in China and I miss Chinese food it is hard to find Chinese restaurants in America and I try all the Chinese other places but Dragon Express is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. Great food - no, seriously - really, great Americanized Chinese food (Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Shrimp Egg Foo Young, etc) - as good as the similar food consistently produced by the Golden Boys - Golden Dragon & Golden Wok. But there is a catch, or rather there are several catches! Location, atmosphere, and slow, unfocused customer service with a sharp edged "take it or leave it" attitude. This small, dingy, noisy place is located in a cramped, seedy strip center on that section of Randleman Road intersected by Vandalia Road, where all the commercial locations appear to be tired, worn, or recycled - maybe the City of Greensboro can rename the road, and create even more developmental magic! I placed an order, for pickup, online with a time stamp of 10:54, and finally walked out of the hole-in-the-wall at 11:38. I arrived at 11:15, and I was told several times in the more than 20 minutes that I was closeted in the place, that the order was nearly ready - the manager/owner has trouble either with time or the truth, perhaps both! I told him when I was finally paying for the order that I would not be re-ordering, and that it was obvious they didn't begin to process my order until I was at the restaurant - every person in the place (maybe 7 or 8) when I arrived, received their order before me, and they open at 11! The manager/owner became rude and argumentative, saying loudly that 30 minutes was the norm, and babbling on about different dishes taking different times - maybe for here, but not elsewhere, and definitely not for me. I really like this type of cuisine when it is well done, with fresh ingredients, that bring sharp, crisp tastes to the meal - and the food here was done well in that sense. You'll have to decide if the downside (location, dim & chaotic atmosphere, piss poor process, and attitude approaching hostility) is offset by the very nice quality, and portion, of the food. For me, that ship has sailed - I decided a long time ago that I don't stand in line waiting for a table, I don't want my food stacked like a tower with a pool of liquid at the bottom, I don't trade bad attitude & bad service for good food, "And I don't take lip from no bartender neither." read more

I placed a delivery order this past Friday. This has been my go to spot for lemon pepper wings for years. I have never been disappointed with their wings. The driver delivered my order of 25 wings and 2 spring rolls within 25 minutes of order placement. My wings were piping hot and delicious as usual. read more

Went here for lunch today. Food was amazing! Piping hot and fresh! I got the beef lo mein and added broccoli for extra veggies! The guy behind the counter was very polite and nice. Will be back again ans probably put into a monthly rotation . It's a hidden gem in town! read more

We like to order take out from here. They have a large menu and will usually have your order ready in 10 minutes. The ingredients are usually very fresh and cooked just right. We have not had a bad experience, but ordering over the phone you always wonder if they understood you. read more

I was looking for Chinese food that reminded me of home (NY) and was just as good as the Chinese food I ate when living in High Point (Number 1) on Lexington ave. I came across Dragon Express while doing shopping in the plaza its located in. I could smell the food cooking throughout the parking lot. The girl who works the front counter is friendly and funny. The food is super good and their cool If you wanna leave things out or add things in. They are fast and clean and they offer delivery. Been ordering from there for 21yrs. It's simply the best. And, yes, they do know me by name. It is by far the best take out in Greensboro. This place used to be really good but the last couple of times I ordered from here the quality of food has been substandard. Dry no seasoning and the Moo Goo Gia Pan was awful. Dragon Express is a nice Chinese restaurant. Me and my kids have eat there plenty of times. They business is wonderful and have pretty decent prices. I and my kids like to get the sesame chicken, fried rice and egg rolls. Every time we order from there it's a success. To me dragon express is one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. I would prefer friends and family's to order their food from dragon express. I enjoy eating at dragon express because I know their food is delicious and they have a great business.
