This Family owned Chinese restaurant is fast, friendly and delicious. It reminded me of what good Chinese comfort food should taste like. I ordered the General Tao's chicken and the Shrimp with garlic sauce. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The shrimp dish has lots of veggies that was nicely chopped and huge pieces of shrimp in there. I will definitely visit here next time I am in Danville. read more

The food at Great Wall is reasonably priced and good for a quick lunch. For $10.89 I ordered the spicy chicken lunch special and a plate of cheese wontons. The lunch special came with a crispy egg roll and fried rice. The spicy chicken was sweet and savory, and all the food tasted fresh. This is the best Chinese food in town. The General Tso is my favorite at most places but theirs is awesome. Prices are on par with most other places and the staff is pretty courteous. There is an older lady that is super nice, and there is a younger one who is nice too but she sounds a little less than enthusiastic over the phone. This is my go to place. I work near the restaurant but live across town and I'd drive across town to get food from here. read more

Exactly what I would expect from a Chinese restaurant in Danville, VA: order off the picture menu at the counter and have your food served in take-out trays. My wife and I were pretty hungry so the food all went down and neither of us had any illness after eating so that is a major plus. I had Kung Pao chicken. It was not very spicy (as you would expect from southern Virginia) but the chicken was cooked all the way through and there were some nice big pieces of veggies. Wife had chicken with cashews. Same sauce as the Kung Pao (though, if possible, less spicy). The egg rolls were the best part by far but since we were served in take out trays we didn't have anywhere to put our duck sauce/spicy mustard dipping sauce. Of all the chinese restaurants I have ever ordered a sweet and sour chicken combination from, this location provided me with the best version. The chicken was fried just right, the rice was tasty and my egg roll was crunchy on the outside but soft at the same time as it should be. My order was prepared speedily, the people were nice, and the restaurant including the bathrooms was immaculate. Couldn't ask for a nicer place, I went back the next day and got the vegetable lo mein on my lunch break from work and it was also phenomenal ! This is a great place serving great food ! read more

I wish I couldn't give them a star period. None of the food was fresh. People complained about it and asked to see a manager, but the response they got was, "There's not a manager on duty." There were only 3 people working. I asked someone when they would bring out some fresh fried rice, but she didn't answer me, just nodded her head and poured more tea. My overall impression is no stars. I didn't even get food. I walked in and there was someone getting a to go order so I stood & waited for the host. The to go order completed and left and I was still standing so I thought "ok, seat myself place" so I did. Waited almost 20 minutes for a menu & drink order, nothing.
