I used to LOVE this place. The past 5 times I hit the buffet the food was not kept stocked and the rice is ALWAYS BURNED. Got take out yesterday and the RICE WAS BURNED and my EGG ROLLS WERE RAW INSIDE and COLD. I can't keep paying for food like this so I won't be back. read more

One of my favorite Chinese places in Danville. Quick service and the understand what I mean when I ask for extra spicy. Decor is a little lacking but don't let that dissuade you from giving it a try. Take out is most popular and they do not offer delivery yet. For the best quality though, consider dining in, especially for fried items. read more

The all-you-can-eat buffet has a wide selection of food for ~$5-6 per person and has all of the staples of Americanized Chinese food plus some. The peanut butter fried chicken is especially creative--tastes like a very juicy chicken katsu with a sesame/peanutty/buttery sauce. The dry fried green beans is also highly recommended. I like the combos I've had but my biggest complaint is they're egg rolls are smaller than all the other Chinese places around. I also suspect they come in Frozen/ made somewhere else. Since I love egg rolls I find myself skipping this place often to go elsewhere to get a decent size egg roll with my meal. Also a few times my combo dinner did not have the rice packed in like other places too. The least expensive item probably is rice and they skimped on me a couple times. read more

I gave it a 4 star for friendly service. The food was typical Chinese fast food- nothing elaborate. I had the Singapore meifun. That was good. Also ordered general tsao chicken and steamed dumplings. They were ok, tasty. Place is not the cleanest. Chair backs were sticky to the touch. I would go back for takeout. read more

First and foremost, the selections of Asian cuisine are not extensive there in Danville. I selected this restaurant from one previous review, which is something I never do, but I was in the mood for some chinese food and this was the only restaurant with 5 stars. For all I know it could have been one of the owners family members givining it a good score. Well I am not from Danville and I am not associated with the restaurant. I am just a guy who knows and likes good Chinese food. Having said that, "First Taste Chinese Restaurant" is like all other small Chinese restaurants that you find in a strip mall area. The ambiance is cafeteria style, they have a steam table buffet in the middle of the floor area. Note: While I was there I did not see anyone come out periodically and stir the food to maintain good temperature. I ordered the roasted pork lomein because I wanted my food hot and the food at the steam table looked dry and unappealing. I ordered the combo plate complete with fried rice and egg roll ($6.50). Overall, the food was decent for the price and I might return if in the area. But I would not recommend the dine-in experience and it might be very helpful IF I should return, that they post their health inspection report. read more

Paid for 2 buffets. Asked for hot chili oil and they gave me siracha type sauce. All I said was that it wasn't hot chili oil. The lady at the register rolled her eyes and rudely talked to the cook people about what I said as if it was something outrageous. My daughter who was sitting and watching said let's go. So I got my money back. No apology. Too bad bc my heart loves some Chinese. read more

Great hole in the wall Chinese Restaurant. The best in Danville. They even have a buffet. We get take out at least 3 or 4 times a month.

One of the best places to grab a bite. I eat there on a regular basis. The House Special Lo Mein is one of my most personal favourites, but I have eaten just about everything on the menu, and it is all delicious. They even have a small buffet for those who are hungry, but do not want anything in particular. It is a great place with great service. We came to Danville on a very nostalgic trip. First Taste is our very first stop. I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch buffet. Lo Mein, green bean and the beef veggies are all really good. And the fried chicken with sesame sauce is both delicious and creative. Very crispy and nicely flavored. I was quite shocked at how low the price is because a lunch buffet in Chinese restaurants in the Northeast could easily amount to close to 20 dollars. But here it's less than half the price. I really like this restaurant. I wouldn't eat inside because it's not very clean.But they are very nice people. And the food is good and hot & fresh every time I come to Danville to visit I always come to the restaurant cause they have great food and they have a lunch buffet with different things on it. And I enjoy taking out and they are better then any other Chinese restaurant I have been to in Danville since I live there. read more
