We visited Hibachi Pit in Concord to celebrate Team Appreciation Week. Since we are big fans of their affiliate, The Smoke Pit, we had high hopes for the food quality--and they did not disappoint! Our party of 8 had a bit of a bumpy start. We were crowded around the entrance for a while without much direction until I checked in; they have a policy of not seating until the entire party arrives (6 of us were there, awaiting 2). Once the full group was present, though, we were seated promptly. Our server was excellent--very polite and on top of things. Even when two of our orders came out wrong, the server corrected the mistakes so quickly it didn't disrupt the meal at all. The food quality is definitely where this place shines: * Portion Sizes: Massive. As you can see from the photos, the trays are packed to the edges with rice, noodles, and protein. * Quality: The steak was tender and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. This review is for takeout only. I ordered online and picked up my food about 30-40 min later at the pickup counter towards the back. The process was super simple. I should have looked in my bag before I left because they gave me 4 yum yum sauces instead of the 2 mustard sauces I selected. Don't get me wrong the yum yum sauces is ok but I like to switch up the flavors when I dip my meats and veggies. Plus I love mustard sauces and so I was disappointed. I ordered the three headed dragon with 1/2 fried rice and 1/2 noodles. The fried rice was on point but the noodles were lacking. Flavor wise it was decent but they were plain. I ended up adding soy sauce to it. They could have jazzed it up a bit with some green onions or something. The filet mignon was not bad but wasn't medium well like I had selected. The shrimp was perfect and served with the tail on. The chicken is a cut of chicken breast and cubed. They both were good. Idk how I ended up selecting no mushrooms bc I love mushrooms so I'll have to make sure I get those next time. For my veggie I did broccoli which pairs great with the ginger sauce. If you love Smoke pit make sure to give Hibachi pit a try. They are serving large portions and the dishes are delicious. I love how the have a kids/senior meal and they are even a good size. They also make sure you have a good amount of sauce for your dish. Plus all of the sauces were flavorful except the mustard sauce. It wasn't our favorite. I've ordered the chicken and shrimp and a chicken and steak combo. Both times I got the yum yum sauce and the sweet and spicy sauce. I've tried the ginger sauce but prefer the first two. The chicken and shrimp were cooked well but I loved how tender the steak was. I will definitely order only steak the next time. The Crab Rangoon were highly recommended and they didn't disappoint. Our server was really nice and patient. She offered some opinions on the menu since I made her aware that this was our first time. After placing our order, the food did take some time to come out, but it was hot and fresh when it did, so no complaints! I ordered the hibachi combo of chicken and shrimp, split hibachi noodles and fried rice with a side of mixed vegetables. 8/10 - The chicken was a tad bit dry and the shrimp could have been seasoned a bit better, but overall I enjoyed everything. Crab Rangoon 5/10 - No crab (real/imitation) what so ever in this thing, just wanton dough with watery cream cheese filling. They were hot and fresh though. I didn't care for them, but my son enjoyed them! Fried chicken wings with sweet n sour sauce on the side and hibachi noodles 10/10 - This is what my son ordered and it was a ton of food for him, they only offer one option for kids and he didn't want that option, so he ordered noodles with chicken wings. My family and I went to the Hibachi Pit this past week to try out the new restaurant which is undergoing a "soft opening". At this time, they are not taking reservations. It is first come first serve. Online, it shows that they are open from 11 AM - 3:30 PM for lunch and from 5-9 PM for dinner, Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. We went on Friday and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to seat 4. We arrived right at 5 PM just in time for dinner; however, the parking lot was full and there were people waiting for tables. This was baffling since the website shows they close at 3:30. Once we were called for our table, we entered a restaurant that reminded me of an outdated bar/bbq restaurant. This restaurant used to be Barcos (), which I absolutely despised. Once we were seated we were greeted by a chipper waitress. I totally forgot her name. She took our drink and appetizer orders. As we were waiting, we noticed more people waiting for seating. It was chaotic and cluttered with people standing. Our drinks came out in 5 mins and the appetizers followed within 10 minutes of ordering. We started with the pork eggs rolls. Two egg rolls come per order. They were medium in size. They weren't hot and definitely do not match the egg rolls from Chinese restaurants. They were decent though. Would I order again, no. Next, we tried the veggie spring rolls. About 6 come per order. The spring rolls were definitely better than the egg rolls. I would order them again. Our entrees came out in about 20 minutes after ordering. My sister-in-law had the steak hibachi with white rice. She ordered the steak well done but saw some pink in her steak which turned her off. She did eat the pieces that were completely cooked and said the steak was average. My mother-in-law ordered the shrimp hibachi. She said it was really good. My hubby ordered the shrimp and chicken hibachi. He liked his food as well and stated that he would order it again. When I ordered the Korean Pepper Steak (ribeye), I was warned that it comes out on two plates because it is a lot of food. I was starving and that is what I wanted. The food came out and looked great. And it was a lot of food. I started with the sweet carrots. They tasted like they came from a can, but they were sweet. Next, I tried the fried egg and fried rice. It was just average. I was expecting some bold flavors but it just tasted like rice and eggs. Next, I tried the Korean Pepper Steak. Again, it was just average. I could definitely taste the pepper on the steak, but that was about it. Once more, I was expecting to taste some bold flavors or some great Korean marinades, but I was left disappointed with the mediocre flavors.
