The vibes inside with the anime figurines, KPop playing, and local artwork is chefs kiss. My go to is the Blaze. I went here while out shopping. I was slightly confused walking in if I seated myself or ordered first at the bar...I think a sign would be helpful at the door. I had the classic with pork belly. I was served quickly. The flavor was good but I think there should be more meat. The broth was fire hot but the noodles pretty cold. I think warming the noodles would help because the heat left the broth quickly. I came here with a friend on a Monday night and it is a simple and casual ramen place! The servers were overall nice, but just seemed ready to go home and not as engaging with us. I got the Spicy Veggie Ramen and my friend got the Garlic Truffle Ramen. While we both enjoyed our meals and it was pretty filling, we both agreed it could have used a little more flavor for the ramen broth. Hip hop and ramen, what could be better? I came here on a weekday night and the atmosphere was casual. They had a solid playlist going and lighting that wasn't too bright, not too dark that set the mood. They had a seating area towards the back that was designed for solo diners which I appreciated. Service was fast and easy. Everything was brought to my table in under 5 minutes it was actually crazy. I ordered the Shoyu on Fire (extra spicy) with chicken. The broth was the right amount of spicy and had some nice flavor. The corn in the ramen was a good touch as it cuts the spice a little bit when slurping the broth. I wish there was just a little more chicken in this dish, as the protein went along with it well. The ramen noodles themselves were pretty good. Wife and I were wanting something warm and comforting to brace the cold we'd been experiencing. This place does ramen really well. Both ramen dishes we got were rich and filling, they warmed us up really well. There are no complaints on how good the ramen was. My only complaint is that there's no kids options on the menu, yet they have high chairs. Also the music that was playing was extremely inappropriate for the public. Silverlake ramen has been a place I usually order takeout from but today I had the pleasure of dining in. The pork belly bun and edamame were a great way to start of the meal. The rainy weather then drew me to a nice and warm bowl of ramen. Specifically the Spicy Tonkotsu with pork belly and highest spice level. It was nothing short of spicy and delicious. Cool little spot we found outside of concord mills mall. My daughter loved the ramen bowl. My pork/rice bowl was also delicious. We got this version of chicken tenders/nuggets that I could tell by the temp and the fact they came out in less than four minutes that they had sitting out for a minute and or previously cooked.. they were at best 100degrees and was actually a little worried about eating them cause that's not a safe holding temperature. But we were in a hurry so we just enjoyed the rest of the meal . Went here today craving some ramen. They had a special menu item with truff oil. I'm a truffle lover so I had to try it out, while my wife had the blaze. The truff tonkatsu was nice had a good strong truffle taste. Because they mixed it with some vegetable broth it took away from the porky taste. I knew this going in. So if you like a strong porky taste stick with the classic tonkatsu. Now the star of the show was the blaze. It was a symphony of taste. A fine dance between tonkatsu and heat. The one downside is was the noodle was cooked too long to where it border on the line of mushy. Also the egg was almost cooked all the way and was cold. We eaten here plenty of times and today didn't represent what we normally get. It was still good but every gets to have an off day. The service was great as always. It's always a good stop at Silverlake Ramen. Their ramen noodles are chewy broth is savory and creamy, and the egg is perfectly medium cooked, still has the jelly consistency in the middle. There is a handful of noodles and good portion on their pork, and just enough bean sprouts for some crunch. The only think I would say though is that their spice levels have changed since I last stopped here. Their spice level is not as spicy anymore but the flavor and umami are. Their pork isn't as tender either but it's still very good. The service is always good, our server always do a great job on checking on us. The service was good as well, even though once you walk in it's a little confusing not knowing whether we sit ourselves or have to be seated. But once we figured that part out the evening went well. As far as ambiance it's just your run of the mill restaurant it doesn't really feel super fancy I would say it gave the feel of a diner verses a restaurant in terms of you can sit at the front where you can watch them make your meals. Curry bowl was tasty but not quite as flavorful as you'd expect from the pictures. The ramen. The pork was absolutely delicious, thick cut but falling apart and wonderfully seasoned. The half egg, seasoned well, but for the price I expected a full egg. The noodles, since this was takeout, that's always a wash so I imagine they would be pretty good at the restaurant. The broth, very very slightly sticky with a slightly above water mouth feel. Not a lot of flavor here at all but also not inedible, just not as good as an Ichiran instant packet, but better than most other instants. Tasted very similar to Sun noodles, which would not shock me to know was used. Overall, not bad, I just wouldn't get the ramen again, the wider menu has better options. read more

One of the best ramens I've ever had was at Silver Lake Ramen in LA. I was so happy to hear that they finally ventured east & opened an outpost in Concord. This is in a nondescript suburban strip mall. Upon walking in, it was reminiscent of the clean & minimalistic style of a lot of modern Japanese designers. We chose our seats & the server brought out menus & waters. Menu wise, it was a pretty simple 2 page menu. We ordered the pork bowl, shoyu ramen & tsukemen. The pork bowl was a generous portion of pork, pickled onions, fried jalapeño and a "soft boiled" egg. The pork was very good & flavorful as was the onions. The eggs in all the orders imho were overdone as it was more cooked than the traditional ajitsuke tamago. It also needed to be marinated longer. The shoyu ramen was very good as well although the broth was strangely clear. Shoyu is soy sauce...& shoyu ramen usually comes with a deeper colored broth because of the soy sauce. The pork belly was a big portion and flavorful. I had dreamed of the original Silver Lake Ramen's tsukemen since I last had it 6 years ago. It was THAT good! This one was ok. I thought the dipping broth was not as flavorful as the original version. Everything else in the tsukemen was fine. Presentation for all the dishes were aesthetically pleasing. Clean modern interior with a simplistic eccentric menu for ramen and rice bowls near Concord Mills. I got the garlic truffle ramen because it was using cream broth which I prefer. I will say the flavor wasn't super strong, and the mushrooms and garlic and broth all seemed pretty separate from each other instead of cohesive. A plus is the broth seems healthier and good to sip as a soup. Service wise, our waitress didn't seem to be super responsive - she didn't check much on our table, and at the end we had to go up to the front to pay (after we put our cards down) because she forgot? We've given this place a couple chances and it's decent. Not my favorite but it's definitely one of the only ramen places in the Concord Mills area I'll consider eating at. The ramen isn't amazing, but it'll satisfy any cravings for the most part. The pork bun wasn't what we expected but still good. The karaage bowl had a strong flavor that made it difficult to eat by itself so I don't think I would order it again. The ramen itself could potentially be 4 stars but unfortunately the service could be better. Nothing terrible about the service but I just don't feel very welcome overall enough for me to really recommend it well. While traveling for work I always try to find ramen shops to try. Silverlake Ramen is a definite must try. I had the Blaze Tonkatsu bowl Medium Spice, with extra noodles and fried gyoza.With the combo you get four gyoza and a nice dipping sauce. The ramen broth had great flavor, smooth texture and coated the noodles well. The medium spice level was just right, good numbing feeling to the lips but not so hot that it blows out the taste buds.
