chicken and rice in a container
Olivia M.

The amount of food versus price is not toogreat ! This small bowl was little over 9 bucks ! If i knew that before ordering , wouldn't have paid. Food could be seasoned better and rice was greasy but chicken was juicy. The host was very nice & decor was cute ! There are other spots in the area that give you more food for the same price .

Hibachi salmon and veggies

I come here frequently. This is my go-to spot for hibachi near me. Customer service is great and food always tastes good. They have good portion sizes too.

We went to Hanaya Garden today for lunch. You walk in (past the jewelry, sword, and lucky bamboo sale displays?), order at the counter, and then pick up your entrees once their done. We tried the teriyaki chicken and hibachi shrimp. Both were made to order, flavorful, came with rice and veggies, and included a side of shrimp sauce for dipping. Although the entrees were $5.95 and $7.95 respectively, their drinks were cheap ($1.25 with refills) and you don't have to leave a tip because it's self-serve once you order and pick-up your meal. We sat by the makeshift waterfall (I guess that's where the "garden" comes in), watched a little of the news on their big screen TV, and wondered whether anyone ever bought any jewelry, swords, or lucky bamboo. You wouldn't know that it's a retail shop, too, until you walk in; there's nothing outside advertising it. Sure, it's not high-class Japanese food, but it was fresh made and was enjoyable for a quick lunch.

Best hibachi around. I prefer the chicken hibachi over everything else. And the shrimp sauce is magnificent.

The best Japanese food in Charlotte. I love it. Try the Shrimp and Snapper. It's great. Also the atmosphere is great and its family owned.

Had the Salmon And Steak Combination, salmon tasted like it was straight out of the freezer and the steak was dry and over cooked.

Food is decent for the price but I did see a few roaches crawling around, so will not be returning and do not recommend.

I was more than willing to pay a reasonable upcharge for the substitution. Instead, I was told--rather dismissively--that I would have to order each item separately. That would mean paying $13.49 for the wings plus $7.99 for plain noodles, bringing the total to over $20 for essentially the same meal. I also questioned the wording regarding what was "included," only to be told, "Yes, EXCEPT the specialty wings." The explanation was unclear and did little to justify such a significant price difference. I understand that restaurants have substitution policies, and I had no issue paying an additional charge. However, expecting a customer to pay substantially more simply to replace rice with plain noodles seems unreasonable. More importantly, the manner in which the situation was handled was unnecessarily dismissive. Unfortunately, both the pricing policy and the customer service left a poor impression, and I do not plan to return.

On the afternoon/evening of 8/4/25 my husband and I came in. We ordered rose bubble tea, and lavender bubble tea, both large, oat milk, double boba. The second we came in we saw the girl peak her head out and rolled her eyes. "What do you want." With no energy and heavy attitude. I was polite and said my order. And she seemed upset about something on her mind. We decided to tip her I think 15-18% to see if it would make her happy or brighten her day. She didn't say thank you and she just turned around and walked away. I was not expecting her to say thank you for the tip, but I was expecting her to say thank you or your order will be out soon as a customer service note. There was another guy behind the counter/curtain and he mentioned something which made her go. "Oh well it's too late now, and then she shrugged her shoulders. " and we heard that as we left the building. Got home and within about 20 minutes my husband and I threw up. I have no idea what happened to these drinks, as the curtains are closed behind the counter. I no longer trust this place to make me SAFE food.

Not only is the food delicious, but it's a healthy option versus a lot of what is out there. Sometimes you just want something that feels good and tastes good. I've seen several one star reviews on here mentioning wishing they had hot food or disliking sushi. To them, I ask, why are you eating at a poke place? If you don't like the entire menu/concept of a restaurant, don't leave a one star review to bring their average down when if just because of your taste in food. By the way, the KF Beef Bowl is a hot dish and they offer miso soup as a side. My mom and I came here for my birthday lunch and both got a build your own bowl. My mom has a lot of food intolerances and was able to safely eat here and enjoy her meal. We both got the passion fruit tea, and it has real passion fruit in it. Everything was delicious, and furthermore, everything is consistent. I have never had a bad dish from this place. The ambiance is chill and calm, which I appreciate. The service is kind and helpful. If you're not a sushi hater, I recommend trying this place. You won't regret it!
