Now the crab is imitation crab and I usually don't order rolls with imitation crab but I did so I can try them since they sounded really good. For appetizers we had 2 orders of the panko fried shrimp. The panko gives it a great crunch that tempura just wouldn't be able to. Highly recommend. The fried green tomatoes topped with smoked salmon.... A MUST ORDER! It was surprisingly tasty. Everything complimented each other and no bite was disappointing. For my rolls I ordered the OMG roll which was $3 off, it's tuna, salmon, imitation crab, cream cheese deep fried. It wasn't bad but wasn't my favorite. The size of the roll was wider than most. The other roll I got was the smokey mountain. It comes with imitation crab, topped with smoked salmon tempura flakes, eel sauce. That was my first time having a roll with smoked salmon. It instantly became my favorite alongside the appetizers. I'd definitely order that again. I wish I could get it without the imitation crab or with another fish option. The food is outstanding!! Musi soup was in pont with big pieces of seaweed and tofu. The sushi nigiri was so fresh and so big and so perfect. Disorganized and Unprofessional Service I called at 1:30 on 01/01/2025 to order a sashimi deluxe platter for pickup. The person on the phone struggled to understand my order, repeatedly asking me to repeat it despite sashimi being on their menu. After several clarifications, they finally confirmed my order and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, the staff was mostly standing around chit-chatting, with very few customers in the restaurant. I was told my order wasn't ready yet, so I sat and waited. Five minutes later, they brought out multiple orders, including mine, but prioritized checking out other customers first. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes, only for a server to finally ask, "Are you waiting for something?" Turns out my order had been sitting there the entire time. The staff's lack of communication and disregard for customers' time was infuriating. A simple takeout order took nearly an hour due to inefficiency and inattentive service. OMG..The staff....the food..such a great experience!! I went in tonight to grab a bite to eat after a long work day and while my son was at at a birthday party. I hated even going in at 8:10 knowing they were going to close at 8:30. I looked at the menu ahead of time in the parking lot so I could order, get my food and be out before closing (if possible but was certain with my mind made up and the quick turnaround on Sushi). I told the server...I'm sorry it is late..I will make this quick since you are closing soon. She said.."honey...you are not late and we were waiting for you to come in." How incredibly kind and thoughtful! My experience was so good.. especially coming from a past waitress/restaurant trainer that moved in to HR for Corporate America. All of the staff was attentive. I had the Philly Roll and the Veggie Egg Rolls...which if you like a good Philly roll...I don't think I have ever had one this good. The salmon, cream cheese and avocado were fresh and filling. I didn't think I could finish it but couldn't leave it behind either so I did. The veggie egg rolls were good but weren't my favorite...however..I'm not even mad at that because they were still good. Asian Egg and Spring Rolls are like Deviled Eggs for the South. The staff was also very kind and attentive, 5 stars! The Price: It's a good price since it's a little out of the main city, and you get large rolls so there's a high value. The Parking: It's a huge lot in a strip mall, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot. We went on a busy Saturday night and found a close spot. My Order: The Black Widow Roll has spicy tuna, cilantro, basil and dried spices (added cream cheese), and it was one of the best rolls I've had. I also ordered an asparagus roll, which was classic. This is one of my go-to restaurants for sushi. It's always consistantly fresh and delicious. They have hibachi and other items, but I always get sushi. I have dined in, and the service was great. Usually, there is no waiting and I'm seated immediately and receive my food in a decent amount of time. Several different times, I have tried to order from their website, and online ordering is not available. When that happens, you have to order from a 3rd party site, doordash pickup does not have a fee but the other online ordering options listed have a 3% fee to order on their site for Sushi Queen. Tonight, I ordered take out. I ordered the seaweed salad, spicy salmon, spicy tuna rolls and miso soup. The miso is put in a very tiny to go cup. You don't get as much as you would if you dine in. This place was a total discovery thanks to Yelp! I had a severe craving for sushi but didn't want to drive across town for it (uh, hello gas prices) so I fired up the ol' faithful Yelp app and put in sushi near me. lt pulled up Sushi Queen and I decided to check it out to solely due to the proximity. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sushi place that is nearby and actually good! Sushi Queen is located in a strip mall right across the street from Regal Starlight theater and next to a Walmart. I walked in and placed my order at the bar since it was to-go. I placed my order and was told a 20-25 min wait which wasn't an issue since I had a podcast episode ready to go and I popped in Walmart. However, next time I will call ahead for pick up. The interior is quite large and the tables are well-spaced so you won't feel like you're eating on top of another like you do at other restaurants. They do have a full-service bar so you can enjoy a beer or cocktail with your meal if you dine-in. I went with the red dragon and yellowtail roll and was pleased with both. Super filling and tasted fresh. Again, this was a great discovery thanks to Yelp and I'll be back! read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch after the gym and Sushi Queen did not disappoint! They have signs on the door letting you know that they are short staffed and experiencing some increases in wait times. There are also a couple of photo backgrounds and some amazing art on the walls. The sushi rolls were amazing. I really love the ambience here as well and staff is usually very friendly and helpful when you have a question about something. I became a Sushi Queen fan when they were located by the big Walmart on 29!! It was just a little hole in the wall place at that time, but had some of the best sushi I think I've ever had!!! The Sushi Queen on N. Tryon is a true chem! I was invited here for a bday lunch and I can say I was very pleased. The space is absolutely lovely inside and clean. There is room for large and small parties and the walls are littered with amazing artwork and pictures. We were seated as soon as we entered which I give kudos to the hostess for that. Now yes, it was 12 Noon, but I'm sure you'll get this service every time you visit as the staff is very attentive. There are two menus, one for food and the other contained beverages (liquor) with loads of options of everyone. I didn't have a drink this go around, but I did try the sushi options. There were several "Dragon" rolls that were calling my name, so I tried the Red Dragon, the Crab Dragon and the Sexy Dragon which were all AMAZING!!! Each one had its own individual flavor and style. The menu is very mixed with lots of options and a wide variety. Started with the seaweed salad, which for the price, it was a good amount and good. I then decided on the seared salmon plate, and probably should've ordered two orders as it was quite tasty. The tiger roll then came out, and the sauce on it is unbelievably spicy. I wish I knew as I would've asked to not have it. I was also getting really full so I couldn't finish it. When the food cake out, everything was as expected from the Yelp reviews. I wasn't a fan of the Salmon Belly, but that was my fault. I didn't read that it was "seared" until after I had ordered it. I thought it was raw. But my son that it was amazing. We really loved the OMG and Sexy Dragon rolls the best. The Chirashi was good but the rice was a little too sweet. But you mainly get the Chirashi for the fish.. which was on point. There was even grilled eel, which my husband ate happily since I personally don't like Unagi (I know! I know! I'm weird, BUT did not let it go to waste.) He loved it. So worth the wait if you are sitting down was feels like longer than normal. The place is pretty clean. They ask that you wear masks. Bathrooms are ok. Good for families or couples. Plenty of seating options plus to go is available. Staff is friendly even while they were slammed and balls to the wall. My girlfriend and I had been wanting to try this place out for awhile and I'm so happy we finally did! I do want to say that they seem to have a really good to-go service going on right now and I am really happy with the COVID measures put into place. We really felt like we had plenty of space to eat without worry or fear. We got some hibachi, some veggie tempura and a few different sushi rolls. I got the Fire Roll and was very excited because I never get to try a fancy roll with the fact that I don't eat shellfish and this roll was half off this night! I ordered hibachi and was super excited! After ordering I did not see my server again. Poof! Disappeared.. hence why my hibachi was cold to the touch and taste. SMH! I was so hungry.. I am sorry but for my server to disappear and to receive cold food was not exactly the best experience. (The larger parties had much better service) oh well!
