Yama Loso was delicious! We got a lot of different appetizers and rolls to share for the table. The spicy tuna crunch was definitely a favorite, and the steak skewers were really good too. It's a little pricey, but also very high quality. I will definitely be back!

Came for a girls dinner and everything was fabulous! Calamari was so crispy and light. All of the sushi was yummy and fresh. The magic roll was my favorite. Also our server Josie was incredible! Very kind, attentive and quick service. She did a great job.

My first time at Yama LoSo was a 10/10 experience! The restaurant is nicely decorated and such a vibe. Our server Kali was attentive, knowledgeable and funny and her recs were spot on. We ordered the Ebi Shumai, Spicy Crispy Rice, Totoro roll, Waverly roll, Matcha Passionfruit Cheesecake, and the assorted Mochi. I didn't have a bite that I didn't love! The Shumai was perfectly steamed. The crispy was nicely crunchy and had a nice kick. The Totoro roll is perfect for any salmon lovers, it was fresh! The Waverly was hands down our favorite of the night, so much so that I ordered that and the Crunchy roll to go! It was spicy, crunchy and delicious. And to end the night with the Matcha cheesecake was the perfect ending. I thought the passionfruit would be too sour but it was very complimentary and not overpowering and the cake was smooth and the perfect texture. The mochi was also great! If I lived near this spot I would be there once a week because it was that good. Can't wait to go back and try more and thanks to Kali for making my first visit amazing!

Crunchy Roll (5/5): The shrimp was nice and firm with good tempura crunch. Great blend of flavors. Loved that all the sushi came with fresh ground wasabi. Crispy Brussel Sprouts (5/5): All of the loose leaves got very crispy, but I actually liked the big chunks that weren't as crispy better. The sauce was amazing! Yellowtail Roll (4/5): Simple roll with fresh fish. A solid choice. Pork Belly Kushiyaki (4/5): Nice garlic ginger soy glaze and some char flavor. The pork belly itself was just ok though. I would've liked some more of the meaty bits. H&M Roll (2/5): WAY too much avocado. That's basically all I could taste and feel texturally. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Quality food, varied menu and great service! We came on Friday night (J4 Holiday) and sat on the patio. It was a little warm... but that was our choice to sit outside. The patio faces west, so keep that in mind if you plan on dining outside. They had an IPA on draft (which is unusual for a sushi place), so that was a good start. We started with Sea Salt Edamame ($7) and it was okay. They were a little tough to break open. My bride ordered the Yama Sushi Bowl ($25) and absolutely loved it and ate every last piece of rice. I went with the Totoro with no eel sauce ($19) and Maguro Nigiri ($10) and they were both excellent. Service from Ashley was outstanding! We will be back.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time out on a Friday night. I ordered the salmon skin roll and the lobster roll, while my husband ordered the duck entree and we shared the calamari appetizer. Everything was delicious! Our server, Nicole, was also attentive and it's a hip ambiance. I would 10/10 go again and highly recommend.

Loved this part of the city where I found Yama Loso, high quality sushi with a varied menu. We went on a group of 4 and the food in the picture was enough for all of us. Their rolls are very generous and filling and above all, they taste delicious! Our personal favorite roll was the Kyuri, so good! Although not pictured, I gotta highlight their dessert menu, their green tea mochi ice cream was yummy and our friends ordered the green tea cheesecake which looked to die for!! Will return for high quality sushi in the Charlotte area.

The food was really good! We got sashimi and sushi! The service came out fast and prompt. It had a quiet and cool vibe in an up coming area in Charlotte. There is in and out door seating and reservations are encouraged.

I dined here with a large group (12 of us), and they were as accommodating as the food was delicious. I loved the upscale ambiance and warm lighting inside. I started with the Harumaki (spring rolls) and spicy edamame, both of which had incredible flavor. For my entree, I got the Niigata roll and a tuna roll. It was fresh and flavorful, and the Niigata had the perfect amount of spice. I would pass on the mocktail next time ($8 for club soda with a bit of syrup), but overall, everything was delicious, and I will be back for more high-quality sushi and top-notch service.

I came here with three friends for a birthday lunch on a Sunday, and we had a great time! We were the only table that afternoon so food came quickly. Parking in this area can be tricky, but I managed to find a spot along the street. I think you can also park in the deck nearby. I saw they valet on certain days too. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. I decided to try one of their lunch specials and went with a bento box. It was delicious and reasonably priced! The chicken was tender, and I loved the variety of food in the box! My friends were also happy with their choices, and we hope to come back another time! Great spot for casual lunches but also for date nights or special occasions. Highly recommend!

    Fried calamari

Had a delicious meal this evening. The sushi was fresh, well prepared and delicious. The fried calamari was light and not greasy. Had the chocolate raspberry dome that was very good and rich. One of the dishes had cooked steak that was different. Also put fish inside a hulled out cucumber, fresh and light. Service was excellent and parking could be a challenge. It's street parking , we were lucky to fine one across from the restaurant.

    Spicy Crispy Rice

Highly recommend salmon belly nigiri SO GOOD, could eat 50 if i had room in my stomach. seafood always fresh here which is a must for good sushi. pictures includes salmon belly nigiri, spicy crispy rice, spider roll, magic roll, and morrison roll. not pictured but also so good is the lobster roll! tried "espresso saketini", tasty espresso tini with fun twist of sake in it. service was kind and attentive. perfect date night, girls night, or dinner spot! will be in the rotation of dinner nights for sure!

If you are staying close to the CLT airport, you must make a stop at Yama Loso. The dining room is beautiful and they offer outdoor dining. Service is A+ Every item we order was prepared perfectly. The Brussels had the prefect crispy outside and full of flavor. The calamari was lightly coated and delicious. Great experience and will be back.

Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. Given the location, you'd expect the service to be A1. Instead, I was highly disappointed. Our server was friendly enough and did share the popular items, which I appreciated, but the follow-through from the kitchen didn't match the expectations that were set. I went with the recommended Panther Roll, and it was not at all what I expected -- it came out half-baked and lacking in both flavor and presentation. The crab Rangoons were even more concerning; they were fried in what tasted like old oil, leaving a heavy greasy aftertaste. The batter itself didn't seem right, and overall they were difficult to enjoy. I've worked in the hospitality industry for seven years and recently started writing reviews to offer honest feedback that can help restaurants improve. I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, but this visit left me no choice. Konnichiwa has the potential to be a hit with a more engaged, enthusiastic staff, consistently hot food, and some attention to kitchen maintenance -- especially the fryer and oil. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly believe with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better.
