I have ordered food from here on various delivery platforms, but this was my first time dining in. I love this place. Not only is the food delicious, but it's a healthy option versus a lot of what is out there. Sometimes you just want something that feels good and tastes good. I've seen several one star reviews on here mentioning wishing they had hot food or disliking sushi. To them, I ask, why are you eating at a poke place? If you don't like the entire menu/concept of a restaurant, don't leave a one star review to bring their average down when if just because of your taste in food. By the way, the KF Beef Bowl is a hot dish and they offer miso soup as a side. My mom and I came here for my birthday lunch and both got a build your own bowl. My mom has a lot of food intolerances and was able to safely eat here and enjoy her meal. We both got the passion fruit tea, and it has real passion fruit in it. Everything was delicious, and furthermore, everything is consistent. I have never had a bad dish from this place. The ambiance is chill and calm, which I appreciate. The service is kind and helpful. Such a surprising find. I was meeting up with a friend and we were trying to find a convenient and healthy option. So glad I remembered king fish. I had been meaning to come and check it out for awhile. I love that it's super close and convenient to the university. They have a super clean and cozy spot in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The folks working were also really patient and welcoming. The food is not bad, just a little under seasoned. And there proportions are unbalanced, the protein to rice ratio is way off! They fill the bowl 3/4 of the way with unseasoned rice and the rest is vegetables plus protein. I have ordered the same bowl 3 times and all 3 times it is the same thing. To get flavor through out the entire bowl, they sell you small sauces for $0.50 each. I have not eaten in I have only ordered out. So I won't comment on service or ambiance. read more

I got a large salad bowl with ahi tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, edamame, mango, sweet onions, cucumber, carrot, jalepeño, cilantro, red cabbage, sesame seeds, crab salad, avocado, seaweed salad, onion crisps, garlic crisps, shredded nori, toasted rice puffs, wasabi aoli, and yuzu wasabi. There are a lot of things I love about this place. The food is delicious. The portions are big. There is a wide variety of toppings AND they give you unlimited toppings. These things aren't common at poke places in my experience. It's also very reasonably priced. Mine ended up costing $16 with tax, but I got a large and got three toppings that were an additional charge of $3 total (crab salad, seaweed salad, and avocado). It's set up Chipotle style so you get to go down the line and watch them make your bowl. I've probably been to 5 different poke places in Charlotte and this one is my favorite. read more

You have a choice of medium (2 proteins) or large (3 proteins). Staff is very nice and will guide you through the process. Restaurant is very clean, tidy and no strange smells. Tables are socially distanced. Lots of great choices for proteins, additions, sauces and toppings. I had the wasabi aioli. She said you know that is the right? I said yes, that is why I have jalapeño in there too Yet the wasabi aioli was not hot or even spicy in my opinion. There was strange taste on the lettuce. My friend and I came here for lunch and we truly enjoyed our poke bowls! I chose sushi rice as my base. For the proteins, I chose spicy salmon and spicy crab. For my toppings, I chose cucumbers, edamame, and carrots. I chose the sriracha aioli as my sauce and they mixed it together with the toppings and the proteins. It's easy, it feels super healthy and it's delicious. I let the staff know that I couldn't decide between the two. She asked how hungry I was and I replied, "very" so she suggested a bowl. You have the option of creating your own bowl/burrito or choosing from one of their King Fish Signatures. I went with her suggestion and ordered a bowl. Step 1: Choose your size (Regular: 2 proteins $8.95 or Large: 3 proteins $10.95) and base (choice of white rice, brown rice, and lettuce/spring mix. You can choose half and half). Step 2: Choose your protein (salmon, ahi tuna, spicy tuna, tofu, shrimp, chicken, and char siu pork). Step 3: Choose your mix (unlimited - sweet onion, cucumber, edamame, seaweed, red cabbage, jalapeño, cilantro, mango, mandarin orange, and carrots). Step 4: Choose your flavor (shrimp sauce, wasabi aioli, sriracha aioli, King Fish Classic, yuzu wasabi, and Korean gochujang). With the blue rail extension and now this new Poke spot, it looks like the University area is comin' in hot! King fish is located in the Total Wine/Ashley Furniture shopping center off of WT Harris. It's located at the top, right near Jimmy John's. It's got a very sleek, modern feel with not too many tables crammed in there. The menu is displayed on large screens right above the prep station. This is another Chipotle-style, choose your own ingredients. You can start off with either a salad, bowl (with either brown or white sushi-style rice), or burrito. For my first visit, I chose a regular-size poke bowl with sushi rice. You are then given a choice of two scoops of protein: shrimp, salmon, tuna, or chicken, tofu. I went with two scoops of tuna and then proceeded to have my bowl topped with cucumber slices, matchstick carrots, diced green onion, edamame, red cabbage, jalapeno. You are then able to pick which sauce you would like added, I went with gochujang because I love heat. I asked for it on the side but, normally, they would throw into the bowl to make sure all ingredients are coated. Their gochu is/was delicious. I will happily have them douse my poke bowl with that sauce on my next visit. There are also extra additions you can have added to your bowl/burrito, etc such as avocado ($1.25 extra), ginger slices, wasabi, shredded nori, and so on. If you're not in the mood to make that many decisions, you can choose one of their pre-made combinations that are listed on their menu. For as much as you get, the price is VERY reasonable. Total for my poke bowl came to $9.60. I'm happy to have this place in the area and will be back! read more
