Great little spot in the lovely town of Concord, NC. The tacos are fantastic and full of fresh ingredients. They have a large variety of different combinations; my personal favorites are the Carne Asada and the Stoner's Tacos, but everything I've had has been really good. Their unique "whole tortilla" chips are super flavorful and have a great texture, and the queso, guacamole, and salsa (though a tad thin) were all good. Atmosphere is great and casual, and my wife's virgin Piña Colada hit the spot on a hot humid day. The dining room was very playful with little notes written all over the walls. Seating was comfortable and our order was taken quickly. I came in on a friday evening. Sat at the bar. They were pretty busy and it took a second to get a drink order in but it was worth the wait. They have so many options for tequila that any one can get what they like. i ordered two birria tacos, it comes with cilantro and onions and consommé oh and cheese. They also serve whole tortillas fried, instead of chips for the salsa. The flavor was a bit bland and i'm wondering if i just caught them on an off day. I was visiting NC from NYC and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite with a friend who just moved out here. After sifting through like 20 options, just picked here and I'm so happy she did! BirriTaco is a cute and fun spot. The decor is of skulls, flower walls, and blackboards where you can write your name or a note. It's a It has a small parking lot in the back and there's also some street parking. We walked in just before 3pm on Saturday and it was fairly empty. A few other tables did come in after us but it was still pretty slow (or maybe I'm just used to the business of NYC restaurants). We were greeted and seated by Angel, who was also our waiter. He was quiet and reserved but very attentive. He checked on us frequently to make sure we had all we needed. Drinks: they have sooo many good options to choose from it was hard! We decided to go with the margarita flights that come with 4 flavors of your choice and there's a lot to choose from! We tried 6 different flavors (see pics) and all of them were REALLY good! I think the guava might've been my favorite but it was a tough choice. Food: they give u chips and salsa on the house. The chips are a little different; it's 4 big circular chips, they don't exactly taste like regular chips but I liked it. My friend had the Caribbean bowl and asked if she could get it with Al pastor instead of the meat options offered and they accommodated her request. She enjoyed her bowl but did say maybe she shouldn't have gotten the al pastor after all lol she thought the pork would've been shredded instead. I went for the tacos. I was so excited that they had chicken birria tacos cuz everywhere usually just sells it with beef which I don't eat. I also had an Al pastor taco. The Al pastor was good but just a bit dry, it was just missing some sauce but the flavors were good. The chicken birria tacos were amazing! The broth was the perfect cherry on top. The chicken was seasoned well and they had just the perfect amount of cheese. They were sooo good I had to order another one and my friend decided to order one of the beef birria tacos as well. While I don't eat beef it looked soo good! My friend loved it and it had an amazing cheese pull (see video). If I lived out here this would def be one of my favorite places! I will definitely go back whenever I come visit. While $5.25 is a bit much for 1 taco, man those birria tacos were worth every bit of it! read more

Food was delicious. We tried the Mexican Ramen and the Quesabirria. No complaints there. Quesabirria was crispy, flavorful, had plenty of toppings, and was full of meat. We also started with an order of queso which was HUGE for the price. Complimentary salsa is definitely on the bland side, but everything is served with tostadas instead of chips which was kind of fun. The restaurant is bright and hip looking inside, but pretty sticky. Tables and menus grossed me out. Service was fine. Not overly attentive, but not horrible. Tacos were very overpriced but the other food ran similar to other places in the area. read more

This little hidden gem was such a good choice for Cinco de Mayo!!! The vibe was chill and laidback. I ordered Nachos(chicken) as the appetizer(TASTY), Carne Asada(DELICIOUS), Birria quesadillas(not sure yet, packed them up to go because I was stuffed so they are in the fridge right now lol), a Hibiscus Margarita(Not my favorite but it was ok) and a Blueberry Margarita(both drinks were virgins). The blueberry was AWESOME!!! I should have asked for one to go!!! My friends ordered margarita flights which they said were yummy. Our waitress was personable and cracked a couple of jokes with us. The main dining room has tables that can be moved around to accommodate any size crowd you have, and the bar dining has high top tables with a few regular tables for couple or smaller groups. The Birria was bomb! It was moist and succulent. I loved the thick vicious texture of the meat that wasn't too cinnamon nor salty. It was a delicious delectable bite. The Pineapple Chipotle house Margarita was so refreshing. It had a beautiful cloudy color that popped with the pink sugar rim. Definitely getting that again. We stumbled on this place after shopping at the Gibson Mills Antique Depot. We were starving and ready for lunch. We ordered the nachos and street corn - it came out fast and wow! So good! Great find in the Concord area! We drove about 40mins from CLT to get some tacos on Saturday and this spot did not disappoint. I was a little hesitant/skeptical of the commute but it was worth it - I wasn't driving so I just rested up and woke up ready to eat! We were seated immediately in the main room , further back by the restrooms. Arriving at an in between time around 230, we had no wait as a party of 7. Before you even step foot inside, you can see that this is a place with alot of character. Vibrant wall art outside and a lot of bright colors, signs, and writing on the wall inside. Menu wise, they have all the classic stuff - tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and of course beer/margs. I opted for the ghost pepper margarita and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the birria taco and a regular barbacoa taco. Others in the group ordered the margarita flight, nachos, and some elote appetizers. Came here after a morning event with a couple of friends. Customer Service was on point by everyone. House salsa was tasty. Chips are whole tortillas fried. We order nachos, ramen, and papas Chorizo. I had the nachos. I ate a few and was full. I ate the rest for dinner and I reheated them in the air fryer. Still tasty. Rather had more melted cheese or queso rather than a thick cheese dip. I'm not exaggerating when I say these might be the best birria tacos I've ever had! Now to be fair I haven't been on the birria hype train for very long as I somehow made it through most of my adult life without having ever tried them, but for this that don't know it involves savory slow cooked meat that is usually shredded and placed in a corn tortilla. The star of the show though is the broth that you dip the tacos in. It adds delicious flavor while also softening the tortilla which adds an interesting texture. Now there are a few places in the Charlotte area that I have heard touted for their birria, and some of them I have tried and enjoyed. But this little restaurant in Concord has to take the title of my favorite. It is a smallish but funky restaurant located in a pink brick building and decked out inside with vibrant colors and intriguing artwork that almost has a punk rock vibe to it. I've been seeing this place on TikTok and decided to give them a try... Let me deposit before I withdraw! Amazing margaritas and Birria tacos!... Pulled up to this hot pink building - You can't miss it! It's a cozy spot you walk into to graffiti walls, which complimented the space and gave it an eclectic vibe! We stood at the booth for quite a while, as the young lady was insisting on finishing the clean-up she was doing. She knew we were waiting to be seated and took her time to come over. I was ready to walk out, but my friend really wanted to try this place, so.... We were finally seated, and shortly after, we were given chips and salsa. And my friend tried flagging the waitress down again to let her know we were ready to order and she just kept walking by - she was the only waitress however, we went on a Tuesday afternoon and we were the only new table, the other people there (like two) were finishing their meals and preparing to leave, so not busy at all. We were able to finally place our order, and a family of 3 came in as we were placing our order, she took there order after ours and would you believe they got served before us?!? I couldn't make sense of that at all.. Anyway, shortly after we got our order. I ordered: Margarita flight 10/10 - I opted for a sugar rim instead of salt. They have such a vast variety of options and it was so hard to choose, they were so dam good tho and I'd probably only go back just for them! Baja California taco 1/10 - Also only took one bite of this taco and again immediately no! Idk, but whenever I associate California with a dish I'm always expecting avocado to be apart of the ingredients, this falls on me for not noticing that when I went over the menu. To me the fish had a foul smell to it. It was a small piece of fried fish, purple cabbage and a bit of drizzle. Extremely underwhelming... Birria burrito 5/10 - Now this had the potential to be delicious. It was extremely salty, and even though I said light on the beans when I ordered the burrito was filled with beans and rice, there was hardly any beef. My friend jokingly said I was given a vegan burrito, and she told no lies lol. We had to flag the waitress down for everything that we needed, the service was very off putting... Saw this place on Mr. Chimetime so came to try it out since I was near the Speedway. It took 20 min. to drive from the Speedway. I got the el pastor birri pizza to go. The flavor was very good, but by the time I got home, the pork had made the bottom a bit soggy even though we warmed it up in the oven. It was something different. The interior was decorated very college bar-like with writing all over the walls, cement floor, and fake flowers hanging from the ceiling. There were Frida-like murals on the outside.
