The dining area was small and packed on a Friday evening and you compete with movie goers for parking but the service was fast and efficient. Absolutely loved this place and the owners are awesome as well. Roppongi feels like you are eating over at a friend's place with how welcoming the owners are. Their food is amazing as well, I was very happy with my choices. Apparently the broth is fermented for over a year and contains nearly 16 different ingredients as well. Food: very home made, not a lot of broth selections, they are all fish-based or vegetarian. No Tonkotsu (pork based broth). I do not eat fish, therefore I didn't enjoy the ramen. It's my favorite ramen place. Close to my house and plenty of parking, which is always a plus for me. This location is a bit small with a few tables, so if you want to eat in during their lunch or dinner rush, you may be out of luck dining in. Their Shio ramen is definitely my favorite. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I went in on a Sunday around noon. After I put in a to-go order the place went from no one in there to jammed pack. The place is not big to begin with, but several families filled in within 15 minutes of waiting for my food. The lady who took my order was extremely nice and helpful with all my questions about what I should get. The sweet and spicy chicken was amazing. The chicken was juicy and the wings had a ton of meat on them. The small order of 7 wing lasted me 2 meals. I also got a side of fried sweet potato that was perfectly fried and a great side to balance the saucy chicken. This is a "hole-in-the-wall" kind of a place, and the ambiance is a bit bleak...BUT, I remember the foods being very good, so I had to return. This time, I wanted to try something new. I don't think I've ever tried Dipping Ramen, but here's my take on it. To me, Dipping Ramen struck me as basically a reverse version of regular Ramen...where you dip the cold noodles and all the ingredients into the bowl of hot broth. Maybe I just don't get, but I didn't quite see the point lol. The ramen cooled really fast (since you're dipping the cold noodles into the broth)...and it's a bit difficult to eat it this way. So I now realized that I'm not a fan of this Dipping Ramen. I wish I ordered their normal ramen...because I recall theirs being very good last time. I also ordered the Korean Fried Chicken in Spicy Soy Garlic flavor. Unlike last time, the Chicken felt less thicker, and tasted much milder (not spicy at all...just less flavor all around). I remember their Fried Chicken tasting GREAT last time, but this time it was just barely good. Still, I appreciated how I got loaded with plenty of legs (4 total?). I will say that the cooking time for this is quite long...so be warned. Unlike last time, they did not offer complimentary radish (??)...so I asked for Kimchi on the side, and it was totally legit. However, I thought it odd that they charged you for Kimchi when it's complimentary in most Korean restaurants. Still, the overall pricing of Ramens and Chickens were fair. Overall, I think the foods here are quite good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the Dipping Ramen...and I wished the Fried Chicken was a bit more flavored (like last time?). Maybe it was just an off day...or the new norm since Covid?? So this wasn't a winning visit, but I was a fan of their normal ramen, so I'll probably return for more...and hopefully I can bump back up the ratings. read more

The best spicy miso ramen I've had in Charlotte! While there a few ramen spots throughout Charlotte now I still haven't been able to find my NYC quality ramen anywhere. That is until I came to Roppongi! I feel like you know a place is going to be good when they have a small menu. I wish they had a tonkotsu ramen too but the spicy miso was perfect. The broth was perfectly balanced and delicious. Toppings were all authentic, none of that weird fusion stuff I see in other places. The jammy eggs were cooked perfectly and paired well with the ramen noodles which had the perfect chewy texture. The pork was also perfect- not too fatty but not too meaty. I loved it! We also ordered the wings which were delicious! Only thing is that they came after our ramen order, I feel like wings are more of an appetizer before ramen so I wish they had prepared them earlier. In Matthews for a lacrosse tournament, went here fresh off the road. Great find in a little out parcel by the Cinemark theatre. Menu is a little limited, and their big variety seems to be in the Korean Fried Chicken. I had the Shiso Ramen, my son had the Miso broth. Both disappeared. Quality of the noodles was good - good spring/texture, filling. Char siu pork was nice quality. Served immediately at perfect temp. We also had the "small" order of the sweet chili KFC boneless. These came PIPING hot, and plenty of spice heat. Quite large portion, and with 3 wonderful tempura sweet potato pieces. We are eating the chicken leftovers now. Quite good on day 2. Found this gem in passing in between my errands in the area, and boy, I'm so glad I did! Located in a small shopping center with a movie theater. It's a quaint, family owned establishment. The lady in the front was so sweet and welcoming. Parking was also fairly easy. We were seated immediately, and ordered. I got the spicy miso ramen, my bf got the regular miso ramen and a mild, small order of the garlic soy chicken wings. The spicy miso ramen was Devine, and the broth was very savory. A bit Spicy but not overwhelming. The most authentic ramen I've had in Charlotte. Ended up taking the chicken wings to go since I was pressed for time, but man, they were so good! Light and crispy, and tender inside. I'm drooling just thinking about it, lol I haven't had much Korean fried chicken in Charlotte but I can say these are the best I've had here! All of the ramen here had a strong fishy taste to me. All of the broths are made from dried seafood. They don't have a Tonkotsu/pork broth. Since I'm not a seafood fan I wasn't a fan of the ramen.
