I have known Bing since the restaurant was at the Pier 51 location. She must not like me anymore. Food is not consistent. If you order an entree with certain vegs listed Bing will give you what she wants. Including the broccoli you don't like and wasn't listed. You might even get celery with dirt, which I have received. I ordered moo sho pork. It was served on one plate. No option but to assemble the pancake right directly on the table. She dropped the dish on the table and went back to the kitchen, never checked if everything was ok. Got up to request the plum sauce that wax missing, duck sauce and a plate. She dave me a small service plate where the pancake just laid over the edges and onto the table. No seasoning to speak. I kept giving it a 4th, 5th and 6th time....never again. A China Q II's two page flier came in the mail last week. My sister gave it to me because she knows I love good Asian food, but being from Denver, CO, it is very difficult to find the type of true Asian food that I love. To get the best Asian food, you should go to where there is a large Asian community, which I have not found in the Charlotte area in the last three years I have been here. My constant search is to find the perfect MaPo Tofu in the area. It is a bit of a process to make MaPo Tofu correctly, and so that might be part of the reason it is so difficult to find, plus you have to make it correctly and have it available when ordered; it practically has to be already made. MaPo Tofu is one of the most popular Sichuan dishes from the Sichuan province of China, and it is known around the world. In the areas of the nation where there are not that many Asians (like here), you will find that MaPo Tofu is also called Bean Curd Szechuan style. Until coming here, that has always meant MaPo Tofu. Seeing this on the flyer and the price of $9.80, I thought that it was in the correct price range, so I called there to ask about it. I specifically asked about the MaPo Tofu, not Bean Curd Szechuan style. I asked if they use the real Szechuan peppercorn, which is actually prickly ash, and they said they do not use that they use a sauce. So, I knew then that it would not be as good as the real deal. Then I asked if the MaPo Tofu has ground pork in it, which is very traditional, but outside the province of Szechuan, some people will add hamburger rather than ground pork. I do not eat beef. I decided to go there to have lunch yesterday, October 27, 2025. Once there, I start to look at the menu and I see that the prices for many of the items are different than what the flyer states. The flyer was just delivered in the mail a few days ago. Now, I had just called the place less than an hour before I got there. I ordered the MaPo Tofu. The same woman I spoke to on the phone then tells me the MaPo Tofu is $12.98! What!?!?! I see $9.98 on the flyer. Then she asked, do you want it with pork? Well, of course I do, and she informed me that the MaPo Tofu with pork is $14.98! Without question, that is the highest price I have ever seen/heard of for this dish. I point out that in most of this nation, Bean Curd Szechuan style and MaPo Tofu are the same thing, just worded differently, and the fact that MaPo Tofu is NOT on the menu. Then I mention how the new flyers' prices do not match their in-house menu prices. The lunch menu on the flyer had the price of $7.90 crossed out and $8.90 written over the original price. But the lunch price on the menu is higher than that! She said that they have three different sizes for lunch. Again, that is not on the flyer, nor the menu. I knew at that point, there was no reason to stay there any longer, so I left and went to another Asian restaurant. Once you lived around Asian communities and have been to Asian, you can sense this is food made for fat Southerners and certainly not Asians, especially those from the Sichuan province of China. No, I am not Asian, I am Italian French. Personally, I found this place to be very deceptive. I will never go back there again! The best MaPo Tofu I have found so far in the Charlotte area is in Matthews and the place is called "Lams". China Q II AND Yelp saved the day! My husband wasn't feeling well one evening and since we're still new to the area, I don't know what places deliver. The place we usually order from doesn't deliver and I wasn't able to pick up so I turned to Yelp for a new place. China Q came up and I easily ordered, was told 40 minutes, and our delicious food showed up in 20 minutes. The only downside is that I was hoping to get a menu with our order but one was not included, I'll be sure to grab one soon! We ordered chicken and rice soup which was great, chicken lo mein, and steamed chicken with mixed vegetables with white rice. I was turned on to this restaurant by a student on my bus. We didn't have dinner plans so I suggested to my wife we try out this new spot. The service was above and beyond. Ms. Bing made sure we were well taken care of. We started off with an appetizers, crab Rangoon and let me tell you right now, they were phenomenal. Then on to our main meals. I ordered General TSO's chicken and my wife had extra spicy Garlic Chicken. I've had Chinese food in several states and this place is my favorite by far! April 25, 2020 - I placed an order by phone, paid for it by credit card to support social/physical distancing, and was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes. 1 - When I arrived the woman said I never paid over the phone. I had to show the pending charge on my credit card app, and even at that she did not believe that I paid over the phone. She eventually found the credit card receipt. 2 - The order took 1 hour and 10 minutes, not 30 minutes. They are extremely under staffed. 3 - Before leaving the parking lot I checked the order and found that two of the three combination plates were at room temperature. For safety reasons we did not eat them and threw them away. 4 - There were items missing with the order. Three egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce was missing for the sweet and sour chicken. 5 - The fried rice tastes like plain white rice. The house lo mein has a nice taste to it, but I don't like imitation crab meat, which is in the lo mein. Ordered over the phone for delivery, sprang for the House Special Orange Beef and fried rice. Asked for no soy sauce or duck sauce, just Chinese mustard. There were multitudes of soy sauce and duck sauce packets, but no mustard. The Orange Beef was actually chicken. The rice was not fried, just yellow-colored. Called the store, the lady on the phone proceeded to argue with me and claimed it really was beef. I know the difference. No attempt to make it right, I was wrong and tough luck. We have ordered from them several times in the past with good results, but we won't be back. Now it's poor quality food and a belligerent attitude to go along with it. read more

Me and my family moved to Concord almost 5 years ago now, and ever since the begining we've always consistently ordered take out from ChinaQ2. At first it was mostly because of the fact that they were the closest take out restaurant in our area [especially because the price was pretty good for the portion size. We usually would get a few meals worth of leftovers depending], but Mrs.Bings kindness [And her delicious food] has kept us coming back regularly. Her restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous, the food is always hot when ordered takeout. But eating table? The food is always good with a slight smoky flavor and because I call from a 703 area code, she remembers what we usually get. In our opinion, this place is difficult to beat. I ordered delivery from China Q II last night for the first time and I was not disappointed. It was by far the tastiest Chinese delivery I've ever had. I got the Hot & Sour soup and it was the BEST I have ever had. Also I got the Schezuan Beef and the beef was tender and the veggies were perfectly cooked and the flavor was spot on. First of all...I will start off by saying that the original China Q (when it first opened on the corner of Concord Pkwy and Hwy 601) was outstanding! Best Sesame chicken I have EVER tasted! Great sushi also! They had high quality food back then and then they went to the buffet...needless to say they closed down. Tonight was my first experience with China Q II and it was a horrible one! My husband came home with chicken hibachi for me (which I usually love). It was just awful. The chicken had a chemical/metallic taste and weird texture. The shrimp sauce had very little, yet bad flavor and was very watery. The carrots weren't even up to par. I will say the broccoli was good. If I had been the one to order the food I would have brought it back. I tried to get my husband to at least call. Of course, I probably wouldn't have ordered hibachi from a Chinese restaurant in the first place. I definitely won't be returning. read more

I got takeout and from the young lady on the phone to the lady at the cash register everything went really smooth. I got back to work and everything was prepared correctly and all the items I ordered were in the bag. Good sized portions and you could really tell the chef cared about the product he gave to the consumers. They have both Japanese and Chinese dishes on their menu so I got the hibachi chicken with mushrooms and rice. My friend got chicken tso (spelling?) With fried rice. We just moved here to Concord about two weeks ago, and due to our busy schedules, usually order delivery more than the average. Being that we lived in S Florida for the last 11 yrs, delivery was plenty, but not always good. Well, this is our First delivery in Concord, and I am thrilled to say we'll be ordering often. The welcoming voice that answered the phone, took our order in a very nice tone, repeated the order back exactly, and processed the order telling us it would be here in 40 minutes...they made it in 35 . The driver was very courteous & pleasant. The FOOD WAS FANTASTIC! We ordered General Tso's Chicken & the traditional Sweet & Sour Chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoon & fried rice. Everything was absolutely as described, was steaming hot upon arrival, and we will DEFINITELY order from here often. We look fwd to going there in person as well. We thought we were going to get a good portion of food until we got home and they was so much liquid juice from the noodles it felt like a soup. After an hour from eating their okay food because there was no flavor, I ended up with an allergic reaction that the left side of my mouth swelled up and my whole left side of my face got numb. But with the jacuzzi dip this plate took, it fried all of its potential.
